he looks at his list, double checking if he needs a stufful.

nope.

the list was one word long, consisting entirely of eevee. that was priam's shopping list for today even though he has four more pokeballs to spend, and only one to use on an eevee.

he waves goodbye to the stufful and moves on.

the pathway consisted of a sidetrip to a water area, where he can see schools of luvdisc making themselves known by shooting water everywhere and basically just sticking out as a hue of pink within the blues.

priam promptly skips them, sticking with the current objective.

going further down the safari zone, priam counts the pokeballs given to him. he has time to catch a bit, but getting a fish doesn't seem to be practical when he already has a cooler fish in a sharpedo.

maybe next time.

when the eevee doesn't come on the next encounter, priam gets impatient. if he wanders around for too long, he might as well waste money by not using up all four pokeballs given to him.

the happiny pops up. priam takes his espeon out.

"get him espy!" he shouts. "get it low enough, but don't make it faint! i will capture it with this safari ball that i got from the safari warden!"

the espeon's face distorts to annoyance before it shakes the feeling off and shifts its attention to the pokemon.

the psychic-type opens up with a battle cry before pointing the gem on its forehead at the happiny. coins pelts the baby pokemon as pay day comes. the barrage of coins doesn't seem to hurt much, but the way it just keeps coming made the happiny unable to act.

priam doesn't waste the time and throws the safari ball, as per the plan he laid out perfectly to his espeon.

as priam collects the spoils of the payday and puts the coins produced by the espeon on his bag, a certain squeak alerts him to a presence of another pokemon.

both espeon and its trainer turn their head simultaneously to the source, spotting an eevee at the same time, who stares back at them with round eyes. while the espeon doesn't seem to feel much, it was priam that feels some sort of nostalgia.

"aw, he's baby espy," he swoons, before the espeon nudges him with its head. "oh, wait. right. get him!"

eevee was the sole reason they were here and they finally got one. as priam shouted, the eevee bolted away, with the espeon following suit. it continues to pelt it with coins to remind it that pay day is coming soon.

priam takes the moment to actually collect all the coins (since littering is bad) and stuffing it in his bag before running with the other two pokemon. thankfully, he has longer legs so he can catch up fast.

when he gets a steady pace and a good angle, he throws a safari ball at the eevee.

"we got the eevee!"

priam does a little dance before it hits him that he only has a limited time inside the safari to look for pokemon to catch. it can't be economical to come here and not use up all the pokeballs!

"espy, we need-!"

as priam turns, he sees his espeon already in an encounter with a swirlix. it stares it down so it's unable to escape, and the pressure exuded by the espeon's presence stops the swirlix from acting casually around it.

"yes! you're so smart! now go attack it so we can catch it!"

while the espeon continues its assault of giving it a pay day, priam scoops up coins produced by the move earlier. it's only when the noise stops that he turns back to the aftermath.

"good job!" he congratulates his pokemon as he sees a fallen swirlix beside his psychic-type. "now for this."

priam throws a pokeball.

he's down to his last ball, which was nice. the only thing that wasn't was the timer running out.

"we're catching the next thing, okay?" he tells his espeon, who turns to a sign of movement by the grass.

the psychic-type quickly chucks coins at it like pay day has come. it pelts a chikorita, who had been disturbed by the espeon, forcing it to come out of the bush to face its assailant.

it's met with priam throwing his last pokeball at it for a capture attempt.

"hah! we got a chikorita!"

he's pretty sure he already has a bayleef, though it's not the matter of having duplicates at this point, but rather, not waste money and getting full value of his safari ticket.
