Lucas stood in front of the mirror and looked directly into his reflected eyes.

"Was it real?" he thought aloud.

He couldn't believe what had happened the night before. It had to be a dream. But it felt much, much too real.

"Are you real?"

The head scientist felt crazy asking such a question. He was a man of science, he believed everything could be explained through it. Yet this, this he couldn't explain. Lucas was split on how to feel. A part of him wished it was all real, but a part of him also wished it wasn't.

"Of course I'm real! Did you forget your promise already?"[break][break]

The answer to his question echoes within his consciousness. It feels like someone else, sung in his own voice, parallel to his own train of thought. He can hear it giggle, teasingly, in a sweet, mocking manner that feels as if this thing—whatever it is—can read his very thoughts. [break][break]

Lucas blinks and he notices his eye is no longer his own. A deep crimson sigil brands him with the mark of the Oracle. [break][break]

"What can I do for you, pal?"[break][break]

Lucas stumbled when he heard the voice. His hands shoot towards the countertop to balance himself.

"Huh, so it wasn't."

The sentence drifted off unfinished as he noticed the change in his eye. He leaned forward towards the mirror. One hand clung to the countertop while the other hand pulled back his eyelids. On his eye was a mark he didn't recognize.

"What have you done to me?" He hissed. "Who are you?"

"Did you think that a mere human could house a legendary pokemon of my caliber?" Another shrill snicker eats away at the back of his mind. He can feel something swirling, swimming in his innermost consciousness. "Aren't 'cha supposed to be a scientist, ya' monkey! Ooh, ooh, aah, aah, monkey boy!" [break][break]

The symbol stretches alongside his eye, etched into the very iris. It glows whenever he feels the pokemon speak to him, pulsing with a slight throbbing that doesn't hurt but feels uncomfortably foreign.[break][break]

His head ached in response to the pokemon's snickering.

"I asked you a question," he snapped.

Lucas pulled back from the mirror. He wasn't going to play games with whatever pokemon was stuck in his head. The pokemon felt like a child to Lucas, one that needed to be reigned in.

"Science can't explain you."

His voice was louder now with a hint of agitation still.

"I'll ask you again, just who are you? What is your calibre? You said it was high, how high?"

He spits the words out in quick succession.

Words convey a meaning that the pokemon's tone fails to catch. It waits, patiently, unwilling to compromise with the uppity tone of its host. "Do I have to put you in time out or will you behave and ask nicely?"[break][break]

Memories of his talk with Fernando came to Lucas when the thing in his head referred to him as human.

"Can you consider something that can raise continents just a human?"

As he recalled Fernando's words Lucas' view of what was in his head changed. Previously he'd thought of it as no more than an above average pokemon. But as the gears began to turn he'd begin to realize it was more akin to a god, if not one. He kept his head down as he stood in silence for several moments.

"No need, I'll behave."

He took a deep breath.

"I'm sorry about my tone, it's just a lot to take in. There being a god in me now."

Lucas will feel a mild warmth radiate from his chest. His submission has appeased the legendary pokemon and temper its expectations. Like any great teacher, it has no qualms with playing the waiting game. Patience is a virtue and the spirit is more stubborn then most. [break][break]

"It's okay. I know you're just scared," a wisp of a tingle tickles against the backside of Lucas' right ear. It's eerily calming.[break][break]

"But I don't know if you'd call me a god. I'm just a humble pokemon, teehee."[break][break]

Lucas scratched his right ear.

"Yeah, yeah."

He was a mix of feelings, frightened being one of them. Everything he'd once known was thrown upside down now, leaving him massively confused.

"Okay, alright. Pokemon it is. But uh, which pokemon are you?"

Lucas paused for a brief moment.

"If you don't mind telling me, that is," he added quickly.

Lucas was careful not to upset the pokemon within him. He knew next to nothing about it, about what it could do to him.
