GENERAL INFORMATION


INTRO TO Z-MOVES



THE PASSHO BERRY, a tropical fruit from the Alola region, is now being grown in Hoenn. Pokemon who have ingested this fruit have unlocked the ability to use Z-Moves.[break][break]

The energy from Mossdeep’s wormholes allow Pokemon to bring out their own inner power. In other words, radiation from the wormholes have imbued particular berries with this unique energy.[break][break]

Z-Move energy may also be derived from Z-CRYSTALS, mysterious shards rumored to be fragments of NECROZMA. These crystals often break upon usage, but may be slotted into Z-RINGS.[break][break]

Z-Moves are unique attacks that use up the stored energy within a pokemon to bring out their full potential! These moves often come in the form of a single, game-changing attack that can turn the tides of battle.

GUIDELINES


WHEN USING Z-MOVES, one should attempt to communicate with their thread partners for the best effect. Furthermore, events will determine much of the efficacy of Z-Moves, despite what is written for them. Please read the information below closely:[break][break]

Z-MOVE GUIDELINES:

  • A character does not need to pose to use a Z-Move; however, they can if they would like!
  • A character can only use one Z-Move per thread.
  • Damage Z-Moves pierce through protection based moves such as PROTECT, SPIKY SHIELD, REFLECT, etc.
  • Z-Moves can be used regardless of the following effects: TAUNT, TORMENT, DISABLE, ENCORE, IMPRISON, and HEAL BLOCK.
  • Z-Moves can not be copied. Only Pokemon with the ability to use a Z-Move can use one regardless of the following attacks: MIMIC, MIRROR-MOVE, COPYCAT, ME FIRST, etc.
  • Pokemon can use a variety of Z-Moves based off their move set. They may use any of the following Z-Move as long as they follow the criteria listed below. They may use different Z-Moves between threads.


POKEMON WHO ARE MEGA EVOLVED, DYNAMAXED, TERASTALIZED, OR ON FIELD WITH AN ACTIVATED SYGNA SUIT CAN NOT USE Z-MOVES.

THESE Z-MOVES CAN ONLY BE USED BY SPECIFIC POKEMON, or those that have specific attacks. On Hoenn, custom Z-Moves have been discovered by harvesting Passho berries.[break][break]

Below is a list of redeemed Custom Z-Moves. Each move lists their creator, the move’s type, and what they do. PM or when redeeming a harvested Passho berry to create a Custom Z-Move.[break][break]

TIPS ON CREATING Z-MOVES

WHEN CREATING Z-MOVES, try to model the description to mimic in-game brevity (try for two succinct sentences). Most Z-Moves should try to shoot for no more than two effects for simplicity’s sake.[break][break]

Next, Z-Moves can not feature SUMMONING OTHER POKEMON or the IMPLEMENTATION OF META-GAME MECHANICS or mechanics that lean more toward OOC game systems (e.g. a Z-Move that creates conditions for a Pokemon Contest within a certain area).

LASTLY, DURING ROLEPLAY, you may collaborate with your roleplaying partner(s) to determine creative freedom in expressing the attack in your post.[break][break]

the power of nature manifests into the guardian of alola and strikes the enemy with a monsoon of the island's energy. this damages everyone within a large vicinity.

a raging storm of coruscating light explodes outward from necrozma, dealing SUPER EFFECTIVE damage to all pokémon nearest to it.

NIHILEGO: PARASITIC HOST - [break]

nihilego injects a target with neurotoxins that will prevent them from attacking nihilego for temporary period of time. with player consent, nihilego may even control the target for the duration.
ORBEETLE: FASCINATION UFO - [break]
PSYCHIC-TYPE[break]
orbeetle TELEPORTS consenting targets a large distance away almost instantaneously. anyone between where orbeetle was and where it ends up will feel heavy nausea and disorientation. this supersedes traditional trapping methods.
PIDOVE: METEORIC MINI MISSILE - [break]

the pokemon gathers z-energy to forge a plumage-like shell around it before colliding with its target with detonation level impact.
PIKACHU: CATASTROPIKA[break]
ELECTRIC-TYPE[break]
pikachu gathers electricity inside of its body before unleashing its maximum output in a large pounce onto an enemy as it discharges its power. this move is able to hit ADJACENT POKEMON due to the sheer uncontrollable magnitude of it.
PROTECT: SANCTUARY - [break]
NORMAL-TYPE[break]
a temporary, protective dome rises around all creatures within the vicinity of the user, protecting against all attacks including z-moves. within the dome, ongoing attacks and status conditions are neutralized briefly.
PRIMARINA: SONG OF HEALING - [break]
WATER-TYPE[break]
primarina sings a siren song. nearby pokemon on the field gain a brief 'AQUA RING' effect that prevents status moves and gradually heals until it fades.
PYROAR: EMPEROR'S ROYAL ROAR - [break]
NORMAL-TYPE[break]
The user threatens a target with a mighty roar that does moderate damage. Those around the user will be empowered while those near the target’s area will find their strength lowered.
QUICK ATTACK: HYPERSONIC PLASMA CHARGE - [break]

The user is enveloped in lightning bolts, becoming faster than the speed of sound. This move will always do at least neutral damage regardless of the target’s type or abilities.
