Yep, he was absolutely certain that this particular Mantine had it out for him now.

Some of the organizers of the event complained to him that the one that always approached him absolutely refused to let anyone else ride on their back, and would sulk like a mcfucking child until he showed up for his daily failure attempt at the blasted trick that everyone else was now spamming to kingdom come out in the watery surf.

Wiiiiiipe Ouuut! echoed through Doug's brain as he and his mantine were swallowed whole by the giant waves, his body swirling to and fro in the water before his trained, rented partner rushed for the water surface.

Gasping for breath as they broke surface, the young captain coughed into his fist roughly and spat out salt water, blearily blinking away the seasalt in his eyes as he squinted up at the towering waves that had somehow managed to push him and his Mantine far away from the action in mere seconds.

"... AGAIN!" He shouted, prompting a worried look from his Mantine. "Don't give me that look! You heard me, WE'RE DOING IT AGAIN!"

"MAGIKARP... SPLAAAASH!"
