Gallade looked haggard after the Klefki's STEEL BEAM but, thankfully, wasn't toast. He kept up with the retreating humans and Corviknight, making up the rear of their small group.[break][break]

They really could not keep running, though. Bishop checked their collection of Gardevoir, making a quick count of the Poké Balls in his satchel. Seven, plus however many Marza had picked up. Not a significant number, but it was all they could manage for that day.[break][break]

"Yeah," he agreed absently, "but at least we're gettin' outta here now. Gallade!"[break][break]

With a final burst of energy, the Pokémon leaped between them, extending his control of the psychic forces around them to include Marza's Corviknight. In a flash and a sizzle, all four of them teleported away, leaving naught in their wake.

He had expected as much the moment they ran out of the range of the original FAIRY LOCK, but admittedly, within Tam a small part of him had hoped they would be stupid enough to not realize they could now TELEPORT. Apparently not all Rockets are completely incompetent. Who would’ve thought?

In the middle of the forest, Tam stops on his tracks, and with a heavy sight, he reaches for his radio.

”Dispatch, Fawley here. I lost sight of them. TELEPORTATION is likely.” Quick physical descriptions of the poachers are given so that other rangers can keep an eye out when watching the perimeter, and while this is done, Tam brings a pack of cigarettes out of his pocket. ”I’ll collect the Gardevoir I was able to recover and relocate them. Over.”

His hold on the radio’s button is released, clipping it back on his belt and then reaching for his lighter.

A cigarette is lit. He takes a long drag from it.

”Okay, Lucky. Let’s go check on Lily and those Gardevoir.”

With that, Tam turns around. Back to the clearing where he had left his Tyranitar and the pokéballs they had recovered.
