Rumors of new Pokémon suddenly appearing within the Region had colored Elinor intrigued, but unfortunately, she hadn’t had much time to go hunting for them.

But today would be different. Today she TOOK the time to inter the Petalburg Woods looking for new members to join her team.

She was alone for now. Clad in civilian winter clothes, she would look like any other trainer casually strolling through the woods. Her only company being the Pokémon she carried on her trainer belt. But perhaps that would change soon enough?

matias is also dressed in civilian winter clothes but it's highly likely that he'll get recognized just because of his bright head of hair as well as huge build and demeanor. not that he minds, of course. rockets will maybe try and fight him (which is great) and anyone else will either avoid or approach.[break][break]

A Snom casually crossed her path. Though it wasn't a new species, she figured it would make a fine addition, and so she went to capture it.

She summoned one of her Kommo-o its shiny scales made it obvious against the forest backdrop. A quick battle followed before the snom was defeated and a pokeball was thrown.

Once that was done her attention was caught by a familiar appearance. Though she took a moment to make sure it was right, once she was certain she would raise her hand in a greeting wave and loudly proclaim "Oh hello there Matias."

the sounds of battle call to him. even from a distance away, he sees the shiny kommo-o, finding it familiar though he's not sure why. at least until elinor calls out to him, then it all clicks.[break][break]

The Snom was added to the team. The now filled Pokéball returned to her pocket as Matias replied.

“Doing as well as one can. Finally found some time to go Pokémon hunting.” She took a quick breath before returning the question “How about you?”

Her Kommo-o noticed something rustling leaves nearby. It immediately went to look at it.

Elinor’s eyes followed and noticed the blob that Kommo-o was about to touch. “Don’t touch that Kaleo!” Elinor quickly said.

The Kommo-o halted claw hovering over the Grimer.

The Grimer looked frightfully back. Intimidated by the large predatory. It knew that it was merely a simply defenseless slime and could do naught but be squished by those strong powerful claws on that aptly trained Kommo-o. It expeditiously prostrated itself upon the ground submissively. Proclaiming that it would not fight a losing battle.

Elinor was quick to take the hint and throw an empty Pokéball toward the slime.

eldegoss drops down like a beyblade, RAPD SPINNING right into gible to smack it away. in return, gible has to do the same, and it leaps back over to spin equally as fast with its BULLDOZE before slamming into the eldegoss, ultimately coming out on top.[break][break]

the eldegoss is sent right into a pokeball.

With the slime caught, her attention returned to Matias.

“Same here.” Elinor replied enthusiastically. It seemed Matias and her would be fighting for the same Pokémon today.

“Which of the Paldean Pokémon are you in particular looking for?” Perhaps they wouldn’t be fighting for the same ones after all…

Meanwhile it seemed the Pokémon just kept coming. Elinor noticed an Exeggutor waddling over to Elinor’s Kommo-o and started a conversation, before she returned her gaze to Matias.

When she turned her gaze back to the Exeggutor and the Kommo-o, it had been knocked down and the Kommo-o looked mildly infuriated.

The Kommo-o noticed its trainer’s expression and looked mildly embarrassed. It looked around for a short second, trying to find some excuse, but found none and so instead decided to drag the coconut Pokémon over to Elinor by its feet.

Elinor sighed, found another empty Pokéball and threw it at the tree.

She fetched the now filled Pokéball and placed it back where it belonged.

“I am surprised.” Elinor admitted. “Never thought you’d be a collector.” The surprise was clear in her tone, but not in a bad way.

By the time Matias had shooed the Swadloon away, a Venusaur appeared. While she already owned one, she didn’t mind owning another. Kommo-o was quick to join its trainer at the sight of potential danger.

A quick battle began. The Venusaur, for being fully evolved, seems sluggish, even naive in its method of fighting. Which made her believe it to be young. But age did not matter, she attempted to catch it all the same.

“I am admittedly not much of a collector myself. So I don’t mind rolling should one appear.” Elinor finally stated.
