after a very successful trip to the safari zone, cian decides to venture back there after a nice dinner date with PENELOPE LIVY. he's sure she doesn't mind him ditching her after to go catch some pokemon. isn't that what most trainers would do?[break][break]

a darumaka! what a surprise. cian looks at it with a smile as he considers the possibilities with it. it would make another good addition to his team, something to use in his gym, perhaps.[break][break]

"okay, snot boy! subdue it!"[break][break]

the cubchoo crawls forward, then lets loose a BRINE of its snot that drenches the darumaka. the fire-type's INCINERATE heats up the snot, evaporating it in an instant.[break][break]

but a safari ball soon flies.

feeling a YAWN coming on, cian looks around because there must be something out there that YAWNED first. they are contagious, after all, and it makes no sense for him to have done so when he drank his sixth cup of coffee for the day before this.[break][break]

but he never finds the source. he actually ends up drifting off to sleep along with his cubchoo. the two doze off by a tree, cuddled together.

something drops out of the sky, presenting itself to be a SCORBUNNY. it lands with a BOUNCE, slamming into the poor, unsuspecting cubchoo to knock it prone.[break][break]

the cubchoo lets out a squeal, sniffing as it slowly pushes itself off the ground.[break][break]

"quick, freeze it!"[break][break]

cubchoo's BLIZZARD whips into the scene, slowing the scorbunny down enough for a safari ball to capture it.

when the BLIZZARD subsides and the thrown safari ball stills, cian assumes the battle to be over so he steps forward to pick it up, not once checking the surroundings to see if there's anything else still lurking. much to his surprise, there is.[break][break]

HIIIIIIIIIIIII-YA![break][break]

a pancham screams as it leaps out to deliver a PARTING SHOT, kicking cian's butt before running away.[break][break]

"AYO!"[break][break]

but cian is quick to react. as he stumbles down to the ground, he tosses a safari ball that curves through the air, finding the pancham on the back of its knee before it can get away.

with his last pokeball, it's time to catch this cutiefly. he does feel slightly bad about it since it hasn't done anything to him. in fact, the cutiefly is the most peaceful wild pokemon he's seen in a while.[break][break]

cubchoo spits out a loogie that turns into a NIGHT SLASH, morphing and weaving through the air. its texture gloops around cutiefly's wings, sinking it to the ground where a safari ball consumes it.[break][break]
