It seemed everyone was impressed with Shalin's show of dexterity and rhythm. Or perhaps it was just the song. @micah and @danny seemed to be playing more off the song than the performance itself, but either way, it got the team's spirits back up! "There's two big arcades that have Step Step Revolution now; there's a Round One in Slateport Mall, and a Round One in central Mauville. You should join me sometime! If you haven't played in years, you'll be blown away by how much content's been added to the game. There's almost twelve hundred songs now! How about when we get back, we have some lunch then go! There's plenty of other games to play, too!"

It seemed like everyone, just like the adventuring party depicted in the song Shalin just played, wanted to assume make-believe roles. She played along as they delved deeper into the derelict vessel. Whatever kept them from going crazy! After all, this vessel was one of the places where gravity felt "normal" as opposed to outside in the wilds of the Ultra Deep Sea.

"Probably," Shalin answered Andrea's question. "This is definitely the same kind of vessel I found in the desert. Remains of... whatever these are... looked the same, too. They're human but not human at the same time. It's so... weird." Even the courageous Shalin, who seemed fearless, was starting to show that even this was making her skin tingle. She took some photos of the inside of the vessel, as well as the desiccated remains of the Megalopolans, at the behest of illeana reyes , who had contracted her to research the rifts for her. "Find anything?" she asked none of the three in particular.

the promise of even being able to go back to a round one to play arcade games was enough to have micah flashing a glance back at @danny as if to say 'see? no need to worry.' "i'd really like that," she responded with a broad smile. gaming was always fun - especially when off stream, just doing it for the fun of actually playing a cool game. "oh man, i haven't had a proper team in a while," the self-proclaimed paladin said - running through the setup of the group in her mind. if they truly were some dnd party, their lineup wasn't shabby at all. they were meant for success, she just knew it.[break]
"what exactly do you two know?" micah asked, sniffing around loudly as if her previous scooby doo title stood even now. was she a dog-paladin then? "what are these mesopotamias or whatever? megapompoms? cute dogs?" she was spurting out nonsense then, but she was indeed curious and it showed in the way she offered the team a few quiet waves of her arms as if to say she'll approach the bodies if they needed anything from them. it was a kind gesture but also a means to not let any of them destroy anything if they got too rattled (ba-dum tsh) by the bones before them.[break]
taking a few more samples was good enough for her.[break]
looking around the control room, she kept @danny on a metaphorical yet tight leash and didn't let him stray too far from her side. she was worried about him but also the rest of the party - trying to maintain a middleman-type distance between the three of them as means of the main 'tank.' "y'know, for an underwater-type adventure, we haven't seen much water." she said this out loud, recalling the flooding she had experienced in her previous excursion to these lands. hopefully she didn't jinx anything. [break]
"i think we're going to have to have a few more trips back here to really find much. i'm starting to hear some unhappy fellas looking for us." indeed, curious noses of sharpedos and veluzas seemed to tap against the frame of the ship - making noises akin to raindrops on a tin roof. they would be 'smelled' out eventually.

At @micah's words in regards to the Sharpedos and Veluzas that had plagued them before, Danny looked towards the window and saw how some of them dared to slam themselves into the window. With each new draw back and fling forward, he couldn't help but flinch at the sound. It was far too loud, but to make matters worse, the creatures had begun to crack at the glass. With a breath sucked in, he readied his Luxray to take the rear guard.

"I have a feeling that a second round with these guys won't end pretty. Let's get what we need from here and go."

After all, if they wanted to accept Shalin Nariya's offer to go to Slateport or Mauville for one of the Round One arcades, they had to make it back alive and in one piece. Danny couldn't help but look from the corpses of the Megalopolans, then back to Andrea Vaneau. She'd posed a question that had gone unanswered, but he figured it best to reply in his own fashion.

"I'm thinking those guys picked 'em clean, if you think about it," he reasoned. "I could be wrong, but they do look hungry."

As Danny began to usher the team out, he made sure Richie was at the ready to attack. Once the glass shattered and floated through the air as though they were in a water-like base, he let his Luxray charge forward with a Spark. In the meantime, he focused on getting everyone out safe and sound. Richie wouldn't be able to hold them off for long, but it made for a new challenge for Shalin's Queen Zing.

While Shalin snapped photos of the uncanny corpses, Paladin Scoob inquired about their origin. "They're Megalopolans. They went to war with Hoenn a few years ago. There was an ad about them on HNN recently." Berserker Andrea explained, pulling up said ad on her phone.

Before the group could admire that magnificent mustache like a work of renaissance art, the Sharpedo and Veluza from earlier caught up with them, banging their heads against the ship's windows, until they breached it. Shards of glass floated in the air as the wild fishes rushed towards the humans with bloodlust written in their black eyes.

Warlock Shaggy summoned his Luxray to fend them off, urging the others to bail out. The young PokéManiac nodded. "Right! Let's go, Nessie!" She climbed back on her Lapras' shell, and they made their way out. She'd completely forgotten about the Poipole, but hey, that was one loose end to come back for later.

"Sounds great!" Shalin smiled back. "The Round One in Mauville is also next to the largest mall in town. We can hit up their food court, then go! Did I tell you at BEMANI Fest this year, I almost made the money in their Master Division tournament? The best in the world make that tournament. The four new songs they unveiled for the tournament finals should be available for the public to play by now." @micah had a point about the lack of water. "I did notice right away that the air is a lot more dense than normal air. Normally when I'm riding on my bug Pokémon, their wings flap so fast that they're invisible, and you have to wear earbuds. Here, though, you can actually see their wings flapping. It's the wildest thing I've ever seen."

"So that's what the Megalopolans are?" Shalin asked Andrea Vaneau . "I'm not super up-to-date with Hoennian current events; I only came to the region about seven months ago." Seeing the ad on the dragon cosplayer's phone, she followed up with a second question "Wait, how do you get a signal down here? I have to run my phone in local mode to use it at all!"

The wild child couldn't agree with Micah and @danny faster, especially with the Veluza and Sharpedo trying to bust through the control room's glass. "Then let's saddle up and get outta here!" With that, Shalin tossed her Beedrill's Poké Ball through the hatch the quartet entered the vessel from, and her shiny Espeon at her feet. Hopping aboard the large, green Psychic-type, she mentally commanded Starr to ALLY SWITCH with Queen Zing. Once she was above the vessel, she withdrew her Beedrill and followed Andrea and her Lapras, the Espeon doing her best to keep up.

how fascinating. micah was incredibly thankful for both Shalin Nariya and Andrea Vaneau's information. she held out her hands towards them, waving them faintly in the form of appreciative jazz hands. "sick! you're both wells of information! thank you so much." she didn't quite have any time to appreciate the information to the point of taking down notes.[break]
before all was well, it was worse.[break]
the cracking of glass did something primal to micah - triggering her fight of flight response. as if the makeshift paladin was truly her dnd-designated class, her pupils dilated and a hand flew to throw out her baltoy. gripping onto @danny tightly, she made sure everyone got out of the dangerous scene before she ordered a swift teleport of them both, making sure to stay close enough to richie so the luxray wouldn't be left behind. when they were all out, she looked for the rest of the party as if nothing had just happened.[break]
"so tell me more about the gaming lore," she asked of shalinnariya, obviously curious. with a hand on Andrea Vaneau's head, she also asked a quiet 'are you ok, sleeper agent?' to make sure that the group had come out unharmed. with a tightening grip on @danny, she meant to quietly ask if he was okay as well.
