"Well! Aren't you a cutie?" He said with a smile as he settled back on the pier, a new friend on his lap.

Clamperl were interesting pokemon— not the sort that had interested him in his youth— er, earlier youth, but he could appreciate them aesthetically.

"Why don't you keep Kama company? I'll be riiight back, okay?" He said, tickling the pearl inside with a grin as he walked back to the basket, were his Scyther continued to sunbath, unmoving.

"Look after here, won't cha, Kama?"

"Grrr..." Shirley was sunbathing on the sand with Howard's hat on her head. Her trainer had been missing for almost half an hour, and she was starting to get worried. Water was scary when you were a rock-type, after all. The sun was nice and warm and refreshing, however. Maybe it wasn't all bad.

SPLASH! A sound halfway between a Magikarp's dying gasps and Howard Slayte emerged from the ocean. Howard took off his mask and threw the Magikarp back into the ocean where it belonged. "Oi, Shirley! Catch!" Howard threw a small bag next to the Aerodactyl. She looked at it with disdain, and then growled at him.

"No, that's not the best I can do! I'll show you! I'll bring back a Clamperl or something! Or buried treasure! Or a saltine cracker!" The latter got Shirley's attention. "I'll be back!" Howard saluted his Pokemon before jumping back into the surf.

"Grrr...." Shirley growled at the ocean.

Back at it again this year. A little late, but eventually, Mint finds his way to the Clamperl Diving pier and gets a little boat to go try his luck in waters farther from the board walk. "Maybe I'll let out the Clamperl I caught last year...or...wait didn't I evolve them??"

Josh was tired after tending to his own attraction, only getting the energy to dive to the sea bed by the time the moon was in the sky. Beneath the dark surface, Illumina's gleaming light was the only means for the Mauville Leader to see underwater. The descent was slow, the Lanturn not known for her speed. While she could swim faster than most Lanturn, her speed didn't hold a candle to Resheph or Snacker... particularly not the Sharpedo. Still, her ability to pierce the dark, murky waters with a brilliant light proved valuable. Once the two had reached the bottom, Josh wasn't picky; he took the first gleaming object he saw and reined the electric fish toward the surface. All he wanted was a shower and a bed to pass out in...

Shalin, likewise, had reached the diving range after dark, limiting what she could do. Without a Lanturn of her own, she had to get a bit creative. Taking a seat on her Seismitoad, Bass Boost, she would rely on her partner's seismic senses to see through echolocation. The constant vibration made her skin tingle, as she was not wearing her Sygna Suit to absorb the power behind it. Knowing her trainer could not see, the water-type grabbed the first glinting object she detected with her rattling bumps before swimming to the surface. Shalin would have no idea what her Pokémon picked up until they were both bathed in moonlight.

Diving certainly wasn't an activity that one would associate with a Fire specialist like Dorian. That was what his Gorebyss, Pinky Pokey, was for.

As Dorian watched his son build sand castles on the beach, his Gorebyss would be hunting for treasure on his behalf.
