The big, easy to access treasure pile had been almost completely pilfered by now, Shalin having to take advantage of her Milotic's aquatic agility by reining the slithering Pokémon in and out of the coral to find anything other than scraps. Leaning into the serpent as much as she could, the explorer had several close calls with the reef before making it to a spot only serpentine Pokémon could access. She scooped up her fair share before winding her way to the surface. Before long, even this place would be devoid of scraps, and she would need to move to another city's underwater field.

By the time Josh could make it back to the underwater treasure field on the festival's last day before it moved out of Slateport, only scraps remained. He wouldn't be able to be picky at all; it would just be a quick descent, scooping up what he could, and pulling back on the Sharpedo's fin for the fastest underwater round trip his team was capable of. It did give him a chance to practice controlling the shark with just his fin rather than with the reins he had used before. It made controlling the dark-type much easier, holding the fin like a steering stick. The two surfaced not long after snatching their fair share, though he wasn't confident it would be anything special.

Yes, Arja the Mareanie was still in the time-out corner today—to give his Mantyke enough time to recover from the teasing ordeal.

(He suspected it was borderline torturing; who knew Mareanie were that unstable?!)

Either way… he was accompanied by the Mantyke as they took another dip for today. What would they find this time?

He couldn’t help himself but watch the Mantyke as she slid through the waters without a singular care in the world. The sea was her natural habitat, after all.

“Ugh,” he groaned, finally forced to accept that the other Wingull floatie was permanently lost. From the looks of things he only had one floatie remaining, so…

Sighing, he then slipped into the murky waters against his better judgement, hoping he’d find something shiny so he could get out of there and back on dry land as quickly as possible!

The previous expedition to sea that Desiree went on, hosted by her Phione, net her an exquisite violet-colored crystal; perhaps it was an omen for a budding ultimate pairing between the two, or maybe it was just luck giving her a souvenir. Whatever it was, she loved it. Venturing out to sea with her newfound Pyukumuku, she would continue on with her daily dives, which were becoming a prominent habit each morning.[break][break]

What better way to beat that humid heat bite, right? Stumbling upon a magnificent giant hole covered in sand within the depths of the ocean, she would smile when something shone right at the center; it couldn't be just sunrays illuminating the area, it had to be treasure! Gracing the current with swift pushes deeper, she would attempt to pull it out of the thick sand it was embedded in. With its fleshy white appendage, the water type would try to help its trainer.[break][break]
