As it was, this particular Wooloo that had wandered off and had easily spotted another of her kind was… excited.

Like, Cyn had legitimate sparkles in her eyes the moment she saw another one of her own wandering around here!

(Of course, like all Wooloo that a certain harassed shepherd owned, they were all prone to running away from him and causing trouble.)

“Baa!” this ovine would exclaim, and a sparkling bright blue ribbon tied to one of her ears would definitely catch their eye.

Who, or where, was her owner?

Over on the near-opposite side of the carnival grounds, Jack was running around with a staffer; they were both looking for a child’s missing parents!

“Hold on, hold on, okay? We’ll find your mother soon!” he reassured the male child riding on his shoulders from breaking out into another bratty fit.

“Help,” he mouthed quietly to the equally exasperated-looking carnival staffer, who was also accompanied by another lost child—belonging to a different family!

Upon some inspection on the Wooloo that the pair of royal and her own Wooloo just found, this Wooloo had a blue ribbon tied to one of her ears would tell the woman that this other female one had an owner. Maribelle hears the other ovine speak as she would reply with her own “Baa!” where she, surprisingly, decides that this Wooloo wasn’t too bad to befriend. While Navidson, who was a then detective and now the Sheriff and Gym Leader of Dewford Town, trained Elise in sleuthing when they were out in the field to help the Dell family, finding who was this Wooloo’s owner was probably going to be hard.[break][break]

“I’ll have you follow us while we’ll find out who your owner is, alright?” She spoke over to the blue ribboned Wooloo before the ambassador would attempt to ask around anyone in sight if this Pokemon was theirs. None of them had owned a Wooloo although one little boy and his mother told her that they did pass by a person who was helping a carnival staffer with some lost children at the near-opposite side of the grounds.[break][break]

If the blue ribboned Wooloo was following the pair of Galarian ambassador and her own Wooloo, Elise would end up going to the direction that the boy and his mother were walking from and found a white-haired man and a staffer handling two children. In making her approach, the dark magenta haired royal makes sure the lost Wooloo would keep up.[break][break]

“I am sorry if you two have issues to take care of, but I have found a Wooloo with a blue ribbon around one of her ears.” Her words were spoken in a refined Galarian accent while the ambassador addresses the white-haired man. “And I assume…this Wooloo is yours, is it not? The people I asked around said they did not own a Wooloo, so I thought I’d try to find her owner.”

“Hey,” he continued as the kid riding on his shoulders was just about ready to throw another bitch fit, “why don’t I get you something sweet while we’re looking for your parents? ‘s that okay with you?”

Never had he gotten a ‘yes!’ so fast in his life.

So for a few minutes Jack had to trail behind the carnival staffer as he bought a caramel-dipped apple and handed it to his passenger, thankfully diverting another disaster.

He’d gotten so swept up looking for the kid’s parents he didn’t realize that the staffer had already found the other kid’s lost companions—and yet here he was, still carrying the now-eating child around on his shoulders when he was approached by—

Over before the two parties met, the blue-ribbon’d Wooloo would trot around behind her other fellow ovine, sniffing the air and picking up the obvious scent of caramel. It was everywhere.

Before long, though they’d met up with a—oh dear deer.

“Wha—Cyn!” he exclaimed as his Wooloo began preening and giving him the ‘cute eyes’, usually her way to get out of trouble.

“Where’d you run off to?!” he followed up a few moments later. No way was he going to be fooled by the cute eyes.

While the white haired young man wondered where his Wooloo had gone since she was following behind Maribelle, the royal responds to the owner of the other Wooloo with a small look of concern. “Maribelle and I found Cyn at the other end, but finding her has also gotten me sidetracked from going to one of the pendulum rides there.” A sigh came from the young woman since now, she would have to get to where she would’ve gone before.[break][break]

Noticing the kid that the young man was carrying who was eating a caramel apple, she gives a kind smile to the kid. “And I assume you have not found the child’s parents yet? Mind if Maribelle and I help with the search?” While the royal asks if he wouldn’t mind the help, the female Wooloo sees the staffer gather more of the kid’s lost companions and tugs onto her trainer’s shirt with her mouth.[break][break]

A look over to the staffer and the other lost kids would have her nod at the guy’s direction. “I can take one of them with me to help find their parents. Hopefully, we can find their parents in time.” Her pale hand extends out to one of the kids that the carnival staffer gathered with him who was a small young girl. “Here, take my hand, dear. I won’t bite.” Elise gave the young girl a gentle smile as she reached into her bag to give the girl a wrapped lemon sherbet candy. "You can have this to make you feel better, sweetheart."

Clearly today was the ‘day of lost children’ because look what happened. Even more lost kids started turning up!

And then…

“Cyn! You didn’t do anything too stupid while you were away, did you?” he asked the Wooloo, giving her a reproachful gaze. Even the ovine seemed to tremble under the weight of that stare, though.

He very nearly missed her offer of help, so with a grateful nod, he then lowered himself to the ground so that his passenger could hop off and stretch his legs.

“Don’t go too far now,” he warned the kid—he looked like a naughty little scamp, after all.

Turning to his companion, he couldn’t help but chuckle.

“You know, give them food and they quiet down. Wonder why that is.”

He then continued to scour the crowd for his companion’s parents, hoping that they would find them soon. The Wooloo stayed near them now, bleating quietly and looking up at all the… all the sparkly lights, all the everything she could see.

While holding the little girl’s hand, the royal smiles down to the little boy that the white haired man was helping to get back to his parents as the man’s passenger hops down to stretch his legs out a bit. “I’ll have you take my hand too, dear.” The Galarian ambassador takes the hand of the boy who was still finishing up his caramel apple while the man talked with his own Wooloo over where she had been to get herself lost.[break][break]

“I presume they calm down when they’re given candy or some other sweets. My little sister was the same way when she was younger and I had to babysit her a couple of times.” She chuckles along with her white haired companion over the fact that her little sister really used to be somewhat of a spoiled, pampered royal brat and probably mellowed out now at fourteen.[break][break]

Unlike her sister’s exuberance, Elise was the quiet, subdued elder daughter of Prince Richard Calcifet with a much shyer personality. At present, she still was the same introverted and quiet woman like she was as a young girl...with an added issue of having social anxiety that was present in her childhood and still persisted.

It wouldn’t take too long before their wandering around the fair would take them past the game booths that offered prizes—and he hit upon an idea.

“I have an idea,” he began once he was sure Cyn the Wooloo wasn’t going to run away (she in fact, was enjoying the attention she was getting from the child who was literally giving them chin scratches).

“Let’s try to get them a prize or two to take home, what do you say?”

The booths were the ones that involved throwing darts at balloons; the bigger the balloon popped, the better the prize.

“I hope you have good aim,” he chuckled quietly as he paid and got several darts handed to him.

“Alright, let’s see…”

Taking aim, he then let the dart, which was decorated to look like a Beedrill, loose.

What he was not expecting, however, was to hit one of the bigger silver-colored balloons.

“Whoa. That’s not happened to me before,” he continued with a bemused grin on his face as the kid that was with him began cheering him on.

While they had done a lot of wandering around the grounds for the finding of the kids’ parents, she heard the man speak about an idea of winning a prize from each of the games in stalls as he started with playing the balloon darts one. “That would be a good idea.” As she replied back to the white haired man, a look over the many stalls would hold many games for one to win prizes from while there was one stall with a “Guess-how-many-there-is” contest next to a Dugtrio Ring Toss game.[break][break]

She takes both the little girl and boy by the hand over to the other woman running the contest by the stall as the royal was told of the rules behind it being that she would have to guess how many coins were there in a large jar. “I will try my best.” She had to take a guess over how many there were since there could be some numbers that were enough to give a correct answer. “My answer will be 58.”[break][break]

As soon as she gives her answer, the lady beams at her and congratulated her for guessing correctly before leading her to the prize wall. Once the two kids told her what prizes they wanted, the young woman let go of their hands to took an Ampharos figure and a Clefairy plush off the wall for the little boy and girl to take them off her hands.[break][break]

Their excited thank yous and both of them giving her hugs made her laugh and ruffle their hair.

While she was away at the next booth, he’d managed to pop two more of the silver-colored balloons, which meant he landed all three of his shots.

Holy shit, since when was he a good shot like that? He knew his sense of balance was wonky at best, but…

Strange.

“Congratulations, kid, go pick your three prizes from the wall over there,” the person in charge of the booth called his way, and he then quickly made his choices—one Mareep, one Chinchou and… obviously, a Wooloo.

(Now it went without saying that the Wooloo one was his, obviously.)

“I’ll take those, thanks,” he said as he gave a one-armed salute before going over to find his companion for the day. “Cheers!”

She tries to find her companion too since she remembers that the white-haired man would be by the game with the balloons and the darts as the royal makes a little detour to buy a bag of funnel cakes from a stand selling them in case he actually needed food to eat. Once she takes the bag and finds the young man actually looking for her too, she comes up to give him the bag of carnival pastries. “Here, I had thought you needed something to eat after dealing with trying to find the kid’s parents for a while.” She gives him a nod while the little boy and girl followed beside her and held their prizes close.[break][break]

“And…I would think it’s a little awkward that I have not introduced my name to you as a stranger. My name is Elise Calcifet, charmed to meet you I’m sure.” A small smile came on her face since she had not given her name for the past couple of minutes that they had wandered around with helping the carnival staffer with their lost kid troubles.[break][break]

Maribelle the Wooloo's eyes look hungrily at the funnel cakes as she tries to use her pleading look for her trainer to give her some. "No, they're not for you. I will buy you some later." Elise chastises her Wooloo a bit with a sigh.

Seeing that his companion had returned, and the kids now had an Ampharos and a Clefairy plush in their hands, he cackled.

“Whoops, I grabbed a Mareep so… who wants it?”

The one holding the Ampharos made a beeline for the Chinchou plush he was holding, which meant the Clefairy owner had the Mareep—the Wooloo he’d already tucked away because that was for himself and nobody else…

“Call me Jack. Everyone does,” he continued with a two-fingered salute as he then saw the exchange between her and the Wooloo that accompanied her… before breaking out into a laugh.

“Uh-oh, looks like someone’s hungry,” he teased while their two young companions squealed at the plush toys they would be taking home for the day.

Meanwhile, his Wooloo could only cackle softly because she was above asking for cakes.

(Just don’t get her started on Berries. Boy.)

When the man introduced himself with his first name since everybody called him that, the royal replies back with a nod of her head. “It’s very nice to meet you, Jack.” Her Wooloo tries to reach for the bag of funnel cakes as she gives another pleading look for the food before the ambassador sighs and takes a piece of funnel cake from inside the bag to give to the ovine Pokemon. With a happy bleat, Maribelle takes it and savors the sugary taste of the cake before gulping it down.[break][break]

As snooty as she was, the sheep Pokemon looked very happy in getting a treat.[break][break]

“My Wooloo reminds me of my own little sister who is…very pampered, but she also is a light in my life.” She gives a small laugh to Jack’s remark while her Wooloo nudges her for another treat. Giving the sheep another piece of the funnel cake, Maribelle enjoyed eating the sugar off of the carnival treat.

Cyn the Wooloo could only gape at her fellow ovine—was she eating sugar?! Wasn’t that… unhealthy?!

“Cyn, shh, don’t ruin their fun,” he shushed his ovine, chuckling before realizing he needed to provide context. “See, she’s above eating human food and all that…”

Unable to hold in a fit of laughter, he then bought a funnel cake for himself and began eating it in small chunks.

“See,” he continued around the cake in his mouth, “…she’s the member of my herd who only prefers to eat—” and here he had to drop off and spell the word ‘berries’ by the letter because he knew that Cyn was smart enough to recognize the ‘b’ word when said by anyone nearby.

“So yeah. At least I don’t have to worry about losing my food around her!” he added with another laugh.
