[attr="class","samjermain"]Too busy raging on the alien’s base to notice his trainer’s distressed state, Chester does not follow them immediately into the tunnel.

Typically known for her hesitant nature, Aubre did not falter as she splashed into the water. Her progress was fast and frantic, an occasional stumble sending her chin under the waves. In some ways, the water’s iciness was comforting. It counteracted the phantom burning that threatened to engulf her back. In an attempt to calm his trainer, the Oricorio shifted to her head.

A series of calming whistles emerged—the song once used to lull Aubre’s fussy daughter to sleep. Unfortunately, this beautiful tune ended in a surprised squawk as a Dhelmise swept his trainer’s feet out from under her. “!?” Viscous, icy water covered her head—staining her bright red hair. Fortunately, Ricardo reacted quickly—his wings beating back the vines with a powerful Air Cutter. In doing so, he hoped to disentangle the seaweed that brought these stupid anchors to life.

The sudden swim seems to shake the doctor out of her fugue state. What a worthless burden you are. She wanted to laugh. Fighting all these years to drown in some nameless alien hellhole. What a riot. Above the water, two fire attacks rage courtesy of and . Her bum hits the base of the water. Above, the two fire punches light up the ceiling like fireworks. What’s the point? Why even bother getting up? All that smoke will just clog up the tunnel.

Then, a purple shape swoops by, the Oricorio’s panic plain as he circles her spot in the water—like a vulture eager for the next meal. "Corio!? Ori!?" At about that time, his shadow blocks out the fire.

She remembers Michaela. The desperate way she clings to her before bed. The expression of her father the last time she had given up. Then, of course, there are her patients and her husband. She reminds herself that her life isn't her own.

Back into the fray, Aubre. Get up, you coward. Gripping onto a nearby chain—courtesy of a Dhelmise—the doctor moves to pull herself from her swampy baptism. Just don’t look at it, okay? Which, of course, made her want to do exactly that.

Xiura felt the warmth of 's hand at her back radiating warmth, and her cheeks colored as she glanced up and back at him. She tried to tamp down on any speculation as to why; it wasn't the time or place for these kinds of thoughts. She had to concentrate on the path ahead, for the sake of her companions and the Bloodmoon Ursaluna. As Xiura followed Aurelie down the path choked by thick vegetation, Glimmora appeared from the dark spaces created by the leaves and vines, like crystablooms of dark matter. They aggressively released toxins into the air. She felt Jack's comforting presence disappear briefly in the commotion.

"Gardevoir, use Psychic!" Between Gardevoir's and Mismagius' attacks, they sought to push back and negate the Glimmora's advance with their powerful psychic attacks.

quickly, she reached for her phone, thankful to find that it was still on her. wiping away sludge, she then turned on the flashlight and searched for any logo, part or model numbers before snapping a few photos.[break][break]

moving on, as the group split up into two, she noted more strangers joining the same route, and the unmistakable face of –another former elite four. though not a friend, she felt some relief for a presence that would discourage rocket from turning on her brother.[break][break]

when the earth fell behind them, she was granted a reason to send a smile, however subtle. it was proud.[break][break]

they all waded into the water and it was suspiciously cold, a mystery that she hated–but there was no turning back. moving along with the group, she pressed on until faces of the dead rose in the water and then disappeared again. another ambush?[break][break]

As Thomas traveled down the second path wit the others, he'd begin to side-eye the man who had the Gigaton Ball. The fact that he was a part of that little stunt from before didn't help matters in the slightest.

Otherwise, Thomas kept his eyes on the path before them. The Ceruledge remained vigilant, waiting for any sort of threat to crop up. Thomas was expecting a Grass Knot trap, or something to that effect. Maybe the machinations of a Celesteela?

But not a horde of Glimmora with strange markings turning the corridor into a practical meat grinder with Mortal Spin.

Thomas quickly swapped out Mordred for Artanis. "Artanis, Wide Guard! Cover us while we get through!", Thomas called out urgently.

The Iron Valiant would, once again, combine his two blades together into a single double-blade. He would then begin to guard the others, as they attempted to cross through the Mortal Spin trap.

In particular, Thomas tried his best to usher and through the perilous hallway. He would also do his best to get the strange Ursaluna through, with as little harm to it as possible.

The second path’s vegetation would have less water though there was still a bit of water for those who didn’t have anything to float over the water to get through. Since Elise had been been freed from the strange blue aliens and the Nihilego, she would let Cinder take her through the second path along with the others. It would take a little while to get through the bits of water and the plants, but ’s Ceruledge being able to light up the darkness really helped in seeing where they were going.[break][break]

Seeing the Glimmora detach themselves from the walls and release their poison, the Galarian Ambassador needed to avoid having herself and her Mismagius get poisoned. Speaking of her partner, Mana the Mismagius follows the Charizard and her trainer in watching the Glimmora in the air though the yellow eyes of the ghost were worried for her trainer’s safety too. Elise doesn’t want to make worried a second time there today after she had been kidnapped by the strange aliens. [break][break]

[attr="class","aurelie_body"]Aurelie vigilantly kept pace behind the three Pokemon lighting the way forward. Though she was glad not to be swimming through more swamp water, she had to admit the darkness along this path made her jumpy. The illumination provided by 's HATTERENE and 's ILLUMINA EEVEE'S DAZZLING GLEAM and SPOTLIGHT, boosted by 's UMBREON, was particularly welcome right now.

At her side, her GALLADE rhythmically slashed at the dense foliage lining the cavern, cutting a clearer pathway forward. At one point, Aurelie thought she heard a rustle coming from the vegetation and immediately spun to face the sound. She reached instinctively for her missing machete, only for her hand to come up holding the Megalopolan device she'd absently picked up off their workbench earlier.

The rustle died away, and Aurelie lowered her hand, her momentary alarm replaced by puzzlement and curiosity about the device she'd accidentally pilfered. It looked a little like a flashlight or laser pointer that cast a sickly magenta beam and emitted a low, buzzing hum. She shone it experimentally at the wall and felt a chill of fear when its light reflected unexpectedly off a beady yellow eye that blinked sharply at her.

Before Aurelie could react, the yellow eye was joined by dozens of others, all belonging to a swarm of aggressive GLIMMORA that detached from the walls and surged toward the explorers. They spun rapidly in the air, and foul poison began spraying from their glittering, magenta-streaked petals.

Aurelie's heart pounded furiously from the shock of the attack, and she nearly dropped the device she was holding. "Laurent, use—" she began to say, but her GALLADE responded on its own before Aurelie could even decide on a course of action.

Moving as smoothly as silk, the GALLADE swiftly interposed itself between the GLIMMORA and the other explorers and used SUBSTITUTE to create a decoy of itself. The decoy absorbed the GLIMMORA's poisonous deluge, shielding everything behind it—including Aurelie—from harm.

"Let's keep moving!" she called out, raising her voice to be heard above the confusion. "No sense standing here and getting drowned in poison!" Taking advantage of their Pokemon's Psychic counterattacks and the protection offered by her GALLADE, Aurelie grabbed hold of 's and 's hands and ushered them both forward, hoping to get past the worst of the GLIMMORA's onslaught.

The path down the foliaged way is nicer thanks to , , and @kouji, the trio allowing for a much easier way forward. Genny's focus breaks as she moves to talk to , a little more pep in her step. She never untenses, but the small talk is a means to help Desi, and others calm. She'll take that any day and be taken by surprised over too worried and causing more problems.[break][break]

"Same here, Desi. We really need to stop meeting when stuff like this keeps happening." First the Gyarados in Pacifilog, now the cryptid alien threat and a bear. It was exhausting to say their friendship was built on intensity, but it was. They needed to go get tea, coffee, baked goods. Anything. Anything that wasn't murder water snake or resident alien attacks.[break][break]

Though she didn't know the other girlies, Genny waves a hand up to and . "Call me Genny, nice to meet you b-"[break][break]

And then, she was rudely interrupted by a sudden influx of Glimmora. And for once, Genny was visibly angry, her brow furrows. One hand out. "Knock'em out." Being interrupted was rude, and the Fennekin would utilize the opportunity to PSYSHOCK at the swarm, adjoining with those using psychic attacks already.[break][break]

Akane was mewing out, as her eyes glow light blue, as a wave of purple energy fires outwards to strike at the Glimmora foes, mirroring her Trainer's discontent.[break][break]

It was rude to interrupt. Especially when she's trying to look cool.[break][break]

As the others started to set off down the path, he followed. He didn't think he was the last to go down the path, but he wasn't the first either. Usually, he would want to be last, to keep a lookout in case something snuck up on him. But since the way they had entered had been blocked off, that wouldn't be a problem. A scream from up ahead roused him from his thoughts, and he snapped back to attention. While he had been wrapped up in his own thoughts, he had already entered the water. As he felt something curl around his legs and start to wrap around his body, he thrashed around, trying to break free.

Managing to twist his arm enough to hit the button on Fenris's Pokéball, he managed to recall the Pokémon. Now he wouldn't have to split his focus on his Pokémon. He could just focus on breaking free himself. Of course, the fact that he would rather suffer the consequences himself was also in play. He was used to hardships and could handle himself better than most of his Pokémon when it came to tough situations.

He could hear other people struggling as they were caught in the trap with the Dhelmise. He could even hear some people attacking the Dhelmise. If he wasn't worried about splitting his focus and hadn't returned Fenris, he would've had the canine Pokémon bite the vines. But he had. Not much he could do about it now. Though if there was anything he was confident about, it was his own strength.

Even if it took a while, he did feel he would eventually be able to break free. He had been trained in escaping bindings, so he just had to put all his training to use. There was no way he was going to go down like this.

For a minute, he went limp as if he was giving up. He hoped the ploy would work and the Dhelmise would loosen its vines a bit. If the ploy worked, he would suddenly gather all his strength and break free. It was a move that could be disastrous, but hopefully, it would work. Hopefully, it was a ploy the Dhelmise would fall for.

When he felt that maybe the Dhelmise had let its guard down, he gathered all his strength and tried to break free. Rather or not it worked, he was prepared. If it didn't work, he was prepared to hold his breath, figuring he would get pulled under if it didn't work.[break][break] XnKoPxXG

The further in they went the more the walls closed in all around them. Even good ol' Jolly Roger seemed to be getting a sense of claustrophobia as the turtle looked side to side as they inched closer to him. With enough pressure behind it he could probably flush out this entire tunnel if there weren't already people inside.

As they walked Kazimir couldn't help but scratch at his leg as trudge through the water. The cold was making the small hairs on his leg stand up and scratching them gave him a bit of relaxation. It was only when something else touched his leg that he kicked his leg out to make a splash and reveal the chain that had rested along his leg.

Ghostly anchors made themselves known from the depths of the water as they tried to constrict everyone in the group. Kaz turned to his Blastoise who was trying to shake off his restraints and opened his mouth to issue an order that could save them. Then he saw just how big the turtle was compared to this cave. Making him move around too much was bound to get someone hurt so...

"Get back here! Go Domon!" Kaz shouted as he quickly returned his turtle to a red light and sent out his bearish partner who did his best to take steps to avoid the chains. "Domon help us out here! Make sure they don't get anyone else dragged under! I'll handle myself." The Urshifu took a second to glare at his Trainer before nodding and running off. It was easier said than done as Kaz was slowly being made into some kind of damp scarecrow while pulling the anchor shots off of him.

As the bear ran he saw being grabbed and flattening his hand aimed an aerial ace at the Dhelmise trying to reach for him again to cut them down and keep him safe.

With a bit of magic and quick thinking on 's end, a barricade blocks the megalopolans from chasing them. Horrible as the thought might seem, she supposes could fit the bill. Trudging along the path, thankful that she decided to come prepared with some thigh high boots and her pants tucked into them to avoid being scratched by any of the dense foliage, Yuina moved with the steady group they'd formed with and , and a few others that were along with them in particular.[break]
"It is good that we've been able to stick together like this. This Pokemon is just as important as we are now, and I know that everyone here will do their best to protect it," Yuina nodded, keeping a hand on Daikenki, returning 's words of having a good group that would be able to work together.[break]

You're such a good Pokemon," Yuina spoke out then, moving to reach out a hand and attempting to try and pet the Ursaluna Removed, wondering still what happened to its person and if the patch the held was from the same uniform that the bear had caught in its fur.[break][break]
"Oh, yeah, I'm Yuina, it's," she tried to return, was kind enough to offer her name, but it was short lived as the very cavern they were within seemed to tremble, not from anything shaking the foundation, the walls themselves were alive as dozens of strange flower looking Pokemon started to swarm them.[break]
"Oh no! Daikenki, Razor shell," Yuina shouted as chaos broke out again, and the Samurott barked as it started to slash with water at the strange flowers moving around them. Yuina moved closer to the Ursaluna Removed and attempted to put herself in between the bear and any of the flowers that tried to come towards it, it didn't deserve to get hurt! It had done so much and had been through so much already!

All around him Dhelmise had begun to rise from the eerie water beneath them, the footing was poor and made it hard for him to maneuver out of harm's way. Yet thankfully his Hisuian Goodra was by his side and because of its large frame, the Anchor Shots coming from their grassy remains bounce off its hard shell. Snapping out of his close call, he looks around to see others who were not as fortunate as him.[break][break]

One such person was , noticing him sinking deeper and deeper into the water, Noel rushes forward in an attempt to save the fellow trainer. Fearing the worst from his limp body, he extends his arm out and clasps his hand onto Ryker's own. Grabbing hold and pulling him out with all his strength, slowly and surely his body started to resurface back upwards. Now free, Noel pulls him up completely out of the water, safe and sound, and helps him to get back on his feet.[break][break]

Everything went down in a bit of a blur. After Neri managed to free them both from the magenta chain that had them bound, a puff of PURPLE SMOKE billowed up in Tori's face causing her to choke and retch. She had no way of knowing what the smoke was but based on what the Megalopolans were saying earlier, it didn't seem good. [break][break]

Neri squeaked out in concern for its trainer, meanwhile Tori just held up a hand. She felt absolutely foul ever since she found herself in this blasted cavern. Now intense nausea gave way to dizziness and blurred vision. Luckily for her, while she was vulnerable, her friend, managed to reach out to protect her. She makes sure to thank her when she's able to catch her breath.[break][break]

Chaos rained down on their would-be captors as reinforcements arrived. It all happened in the blink of an eye. Or maybe Tori's sense of time was thrown off while she was incapacitated. One thing was for sure once everything had died down, they couldn't stay here. Who knew when the Megalopolan reinforcements would appear.[break][break]

But just like before, a fork in the road presented itself and she would have to make a choice. At this point Tori didn't much care where she went. Just as long as she could find something to help her from feeling so damn awful would be fine for her. She slowly made her way towards the second path once she'd finally pulled herself together. [break][break]

was nice enough to stay by her side and help her out as they made their way towards the rest of the group. Further up ahead the path was illuminated by those that had gone before them. Despite not being in her best shape, she still wanted to make sure that they didn't lag too far behind.

But as all things, their small moment of respite and peace was not long lasting. Glimmora appeared as they detached themselves from the wall. They didn't seem normal though, much like all things she'd run into since coming here. These Glimmora had magenta markings on them, reminding her of the chain she had been bound to earlier. [break][break]

Tori flinched, she didn't want to be exposed to more purple smoke like last time. But it wasn't like the Glimmora were going to give her much of an option here. Aggressive as they are, they began to spin and exude poisonous gas towards the group. As other's began to fight back, a flash of light briefly blinded her as Tesla, her Morpeko, emerged from her pokeball, quite angrily too.[break][break]

"Tes?" Victoria managed to croak out. Clearly hangry and not thrilled with the situation, Tesla paid her trainer no mind as she quickly began to channel a wheel of energy. The energy took on a light blue hue before her sights set on those threatening her trainer. A dark type AURA WHEEL was aimed at their assailants with the goal to knock them back from whatever hole they crawled out of. [break][break]

Nevertheless, he shot a wry smile, doing his best to big himself up into a proper piece of cover. The whole situation looked every bit as ridiculous as it sounded, and of all people it was who called bullshit.[break][break]

At her colorful language, Isaac's eye narrowed. "Oi. Watch your language," Isaac said, before his stern look melted into a silly little smirk. "If you're gonna curse a guy out, put your backbone into it. None of this half-measure junk."[break][break]

Teasing his sis aside, Isaac turned to focus on the gauntlet that awaited them. Glimmora descended from their stony perches, a strange toxin pulsing out from them at regular intervals. It looked risky, and despite being a meatshield here Isaac refused to just come charging out unprepared.[break][break]

Thinking quick, he tore a strip off from the bottom of his shirt. It wouldn't be hard to work it into a makeshift tie. As he tucked his nose and chin beneath the neckhole of his shirt, he tied the strip around it to make it as airtight as possible. "This should keep some of the gas out," he said, though it sounded more like "Murr hurr mphuphurrur, hurr mph phrr."[break][break]

His hand protectively held Eris'. El rode by their side, close enough that if their injury flared up Isaac could intervene. Cambria followed in his footsteps, ready to subject any Glimmora that got aggressive to Liquification. lead the way as expertly as she always did. There was no backing down. There were plenty of people he adored who were depending on him, and also Howard. He couldn't let them down.[break][break]

Holding his breath, Isaac took his first step into the nexus of vapors.[break][break]
