As the rest of his team rushes toward the god of the ice age, Nikita finds himself facing a violet-haired woman. "Hm."

While not a Rocket he is familiar with, he has no doubt her being left here was no coincidence. That is a sign this young lady likely possesses substantial firepower and strength her appearance does not relay.

A pity he’ll likely have to kill her. But it is not the first time blood has stained his hands. Nor did he doubt the vampire of revenge inside of him would let it be his last.

Trying his best to stand tall, the detective tries to ignore the pain in his injured arm and the raw ache of his stitched side wound. Fortunately, his hound is freshly rested and uninjured. Well, as uninjured as something undead can be. With a deep breath, Nikita lights a cigarette. Grey smoke drifts lazily toward the ceiling. 'Those things will kill you, you know?’ He hears his deceased’s wife voice, a small, ghostly smile threatening. If you only knew, Robin. Lung cancer would seem a welcome respite in comparison.

Tired blue-grey eyes look up at Victoria Beckett with a resigned expression. His Houndstone bounded up to his side, crimson eyes casting a wicked, hellish glow upon its face. “Ladies first.”

It was like it always was, battle after battle, conquest after conquest, and mission after mission. You get the point. Victoria was a loyal dog to Rocket and Rocket only. So of course it wasn't a stretched that she had stepped up to be the 'sacrifice' so her comrades could carry onwards. It wasn't that big of a deal, she was positive she was needed here anyway. [break][break]

That was enough for her. [break][break]

Tori didn't particularly care who she was going against, as long as she wasted their time as much as possible. The gramps before her looked tired and ready for a much needed rest. Underestimating him would be foolish though, but she rarely underestimated her opponents. "Ladies first" he croaked out to her and all she could do was raise a quizzical glance back at him. [break][break]

"If you say so." she said with a shrug. As her Lucario and Arctovish took the field a HAILSTORM quickly darkened the skies and appeared providing the much needed space for her pokémon. FREEZE-DRY from her Acrtovish while her Lucario would tag-team with a well timed AURA SPHERE launched right at their opponents. [break][break]

"Remember boys....we're here for a long time, not a good time." she said with a smirk as she shoved her hands in her pockets, observing for now.

A sigh shook his frame as he stared down the woman before him. After a day of battles and grunt work, he wished for nothing more than to return home. Perhaps he would nurse a stiff drink while flipping through the news for signs of a case worth his attention. “I believe I just did.” Though the invitation invited mentions of compassion it was quite the opposite.

He simply preferred to go second. Strategizing was much simpler when your opponent revealed their hand. The exception to this is his hunts. But today he was not Laelaps in pursuit of a celestial fox. Instead, Nikita straddled the line between soldier and distraction. Here we go. An Arctovish and Lucario took to the field. An immediate attempt to try and turn the tides. His world soon vanished behind a translucent film of ice and snow. Let’s see.

While Ignatius could make use of such weather, the Glalie’s battle with an Iron Jugulus had left him chipped and worn. The same could be said of his stealthy lizard companion, Anne. Unfortunately, his team did not have a combatant with a direct advantage, and he certainly did not have the luxury of developing a strategy. It appeared this battle would not resolved by a simple type table.

Fortunately, the Lucario’s fighting-type move passes harmlessly through the ghost-type hound. The Freeze Dry’s damage was limited by the dog’s furry hide. “Stone!” Shaking off the frost, the ghost dog unleashed a trio of glowing fireballs. Every one of them aimed at lighting the Lucario aflame.

Not wishing to experience further injury, Nikita evens the odds in that same heartbeat. From a ball at his side, a female Alakazam bursts free. “Barbara.” A thick blue screen diverts the attack into the nearby gully. An amicable nod passes between the man and the psychic type. With an irritable expression, the creature directs a Psycho Cut at the Lucario.

For now, the Arctovish would take second priority. Its ability set was far less of a wildcard than that of the Lucario. And, as a result, less detrimental Nikita’s strategizing. Though this underestimation could prove an Achilles heel, it was a chance he was willing to take. If things went awry, he had a gun within reach. But he would rather not shoot the girl before him.

She could prove useful later.

The fireballs floated in the air, primed and ready to fire at Osiris but her Arctovish was quick to intervene with a PROTECT over them to mitigate most of the damage. However, the PSYCHO CUT managed to land true on Osiris. A howl of pain but fire was in his eyes as he rushed forward to utilize his skills in CLOSE COMBAT on the alakazam.[break][break]

The HAILSTORM that appeared when the Arctovish entered the field continued meanwhile Tori pulled her hood up and equipped her blades in her hands. It was boring just standing still so, as her dear friend Cillian Quinn taught her, it was time to get hands on. With her trusted knives in her hand she rushed towards the old timer ahead of her ready to duke it out with him on her own while their pokémon got to work as well. But as usual the DREAM MIST just had to appear at the worst times.
