The last record he had of his Raichu, the guy had been sent to Slateport. It’d been a blurry picture on social media—one caught by a former fan. But after poking around the city, he came up empty handed. No one had seen his friend, and there were no new sightings. Kazuya had even stopped by the Ranger station to confirm that fact.

But, just like every time, some desk worker told him they’d ‘look into it’ and ‘get back to him.’ The woman didn’t even get up from the desk. Then, she gave a tiny little smile. "I see." But Only years of solitude helped him resist the urge to throw something. Instead, he bowed. The radio at his side lit up as a deep voice emerged. “Thank you.” With that, he exited through the front door.

Kazuya did not return that way.

You have a few minutes. That’s what Kazuya thought as he watched the night-shift monitor walk by. Though tempted to smash through the front window, he decided to be subtle. He needed to find his Raichu. That meant digging through boxes in some dusty storage room, an activity that took time.

He managed to get a staff entrance open with a credit card. With his Bewear behind him, the giant of a man made his way to storage. Now, he just needed to understand the tracking system. Computers weren’t really his thing. Sure, he could use a cell phone and write a Word document, but this Dewey decimal mockery was something else. “Hm.” After a moment of contemplation, the Rocket started typing on the keyboard. In the shadows, the giant looked like some shadowy spirit of lore.

Bored of watching his trainer play with the computer, the Bewear began wandering the aisles. Occasionally, he’d pick up a ball and stare at it. Then, he’d slide it back into place. The wrong place.

Being the captain of such a large city Razz did what he could to make sure he didn’t run his Rangers into the ground. Trying to allow breaks at night being one of the ways he tried to help with that. One of those ways was allowing a small team of his PawniRangers to guard the office for the most part to allow his rangers to do their job rather than keep in the office. [break][break]

This place had essentially become their home and they’ve come to know it like the back of their claws. So when something was out of place it didn’t go unnoticed. While one of them went to send a warning to their captain while two others investigated further into it. [break][break]

Once they spotted the room where the intruding pokemon entered, they decided to take action. Coral coming in and using METAL SOUND to try and catch the intruder off guard, before Plum would come in with a THUNDER WAVE on the Bewear. [break][break]

Both making sure to use non-damaging moves for now, to cause enough of a commotion for Razz to know where they were at.

The biggest problem with this keyword? It wasn’t made for gant mitts like his. First, he narrowed the database started by trying. Then gender before settling on a specific species. Halfway through scrolling, a raucous noise erupted. It bounced off the shelves and Pokeballs to create a cacophony. “?” With an uncharacteristic growl, Kazuya turned to face the Pawniard. In the computer’s light, the eyeholes of his mask glowed. “What little shits.” [break][break]

Electricity sparked among them as the Thunder Wave headed to its target. “Natsu!” The bear was startled by the appearance of the steel -types. A Pokeball dropped to the floor. This was followed by a feeling of tingling as the Thunder Wave hit home. Obviously irritated, his trainer dials up the volume on his modulator. “Take care of them!” There’s an obvious urgency to his synthetic tones.

Natsu was too busy contemplating his reflection in an Ultra Ball to immediately respond. His teeth gritted in a cut-off snarl as a wave of electricity washed over him. A Pokeball dropped to the floor and rolled beneath a nearby shelf. Disoriented, the fighting type stumbled backward into the shelf behind him. It began to teeter before falling over with a deafening CRASH! Beady eyes narrowed with deadly intent, only for his immediate charge to end in paralyzed limbs.

When he finally manages to shake off the tingling, he charges toward the Pawniard with a Hammer Arm.

With a disapproving frown, Kazuya tossed out another Pokeball. “Let's even up the odds!” Another Pokeball opens as a tiny Wooper drops to the ground beside her master. With her there’d be no more of that paralysis shit.

With the commotion going on it isn't hard to locate where the problem was. The Captain having arrived just in time to watch as one of his Pawniard were knocked back with a HAMMER ARM. The only saving grace having used IRON DEFENSE before being hit otherwise they would probably be out for the count. Something Razz didn't need them to go through as he returned Coral back into her heavyball. [break][break]

Salem jumping off the Ranger's shoulder before using PSYCHIC on the Bewear to try and knock back and see if he couldn't hold him in place. Knowing full well that Razz would rather not ruin the office. "Visiting hours ended some time ago," he informs the other with small hint of jest in his voice despite the serious look he dawned. [break][break]

"I would rather not give the custodians more work due to a wrecked office," his small attempt to possibly appeal to the working man the other might be able to relate to. Razz knowing that many thugs and some low-level Rockets were recruited due to such situations. "Now will you tell me what you're looking for? Maybe there is an easier way to this because if not..." [break][break]

he knew he didn't need to finish that for the other to get the picture.

The impact of steel on flesh leaves the bear’s knuckles tingling. The sudden Iron Defense earns an irritable look from beady eyes. A deep growl rumbled in the Bewear’s chest as a human appeared. Without thought, the hot-headed beast lunged for Razz and his accompanying Meowstic.

The sound of a Pokeball opening draws Kazuya’s gaze. The man’s lips press into a thin line beneath his Shiftry mask. His partner’s inexperience again causes issues. “Hold.” The command comes seconds after the psychic type’s attack. The ursine fights against Salem’s hold for a few seconds longer before it slumps in the cat’s mental grip. But its eyes speak of murder. At the talk of visiting hours, Kazuya nods. “You looked rather busy.”

At the desire for a tidy space, the white-haired man cannot resist a chuckle. It buzzes with static. “I’m afraid it is too late for that.” Natsu and subtlety were diametrically opposed. The Pokeballs dumped by his actions still rolled on the floor between them. “My friend is not very patient.” In time, the bear would learn to bide his time. But that would not be today.

There is a pause as the mercenary turns to face Razz. “Hm.” He unfolds from his hunch, his head easily clears the shelves around them. Kazuya is not a man given to dishonesty. But he is not stupid. Admitting what he is looking for would render his mask useless. After a moment, his mind settles on tales courtesy of another Rocket.

“You took my Ampharos.” Muscular arms fold across his chest. “I want her back.” Hopefully, this guy would tell him what happened to Pokemon like that. It'd give him a place to start. And, if he didn't like the answer, well, it'd be a well test on his meditation work.

Salem is ready to open his ears when the intruder orders for the bewear to stand down. And while the fighting bear movements fade Salem keeps the hold for now. Nothing to hurt anymore, only to keep the other in place as the trainers talk to one another. Razz looks to the bear when the intruder calls them impatient and stays silent on the matter. There were comments he could say about the pokemon being a reflection of their training, but who knows how long they've been together.[break][break]

Salem looks to Razz to question if they should, the captain just nodding his head "You'll be here to keep an eye on him alright?" he tells him who seems reluctant to leave his trainer alone. Though near every pokemon out of their ball within the based either belonged to him or were loyal to him. So he doubt the man could get far in trying to hurt him before one of them would help. Though he at least nice enough to give the stranger a nod of thanks for that. [break][break]

"Okay then follow me," Razz tells him pausing to kneel down next to his pawniard as he uses sign language to communicate with it. It runs off before Razz actually moves to lead the other toward their courtyard outside the building itself, "If the league took out side of the Rangers there is a low chance of them being here, but you're not wrong that we have confiscated a few[break][break]

Do you know why the Rangers do it?" there is an emphasis on the Rangers because he knows he can't speak for the league itself.

The Bewear's muzzle twitched upward. Needle-sharp teeth vibrated in a deep growl. But another glare from his trainer silenced that. "Do as the cat tells you." This man was offering an olive branch. And, while he despised the League, he was not stupid enough to stomp on it. "Don't let me hear you slacked off." "So you go try to step down with Hoenn's biggest Ranger Station?" Razz questions as if the other were just as crazy coming here than Evergrade. the young man making small talk while they passed a few halls, the other would find that the human staff wasn't that big despite his claim of Slateport's Ranger size. As they would walk the halls though the other would notice both Pawniard and Bisharp alike keeping an eye out, but never approaching.[break][break]

They were a warning should the other try something to their Captain. [break][break]

"Its a decent guess but not 100% accurate, more often than not its from abuse and neglect, we have the occasional kid without a license trying to use a pokemon out of their control, or even helping them recover of those sold on the black market, but mostly former and only in extreme cases," he offers the information freely as they step outside into the courtyard, in the small distance the Rocket would see that the Pawniard from before was accompanied by a Bisharp of the same color as well as a Ludicolo.[break][break]

Though as they would get close the other may notice how thin the Ludicolo was in comparison to most, and how there seemed to be zero dance in their step, she just seemed to barely be there. An example of that very neglect he had mentioned before. "Though seeing how you went through all this trouble for her I don't think this one is yours"[break][break]

Kazuya laughs again. The noise is identical to the first time. "Size isn't everything." There's a pause. "Trust me." All it took to bring him to his knees was a munchkin with a gun. Then, ther'd been the time he'd been shanked with a toothbrush of all Arceus-damned things.

When he spotted the Pawniard, the taller man would offer each one a small nod. This was partially out of respect and partially to show he was paying attention.

A sigh shook his frame. "Likely not." Sure, maybe he pushed his Pokemon too hard, but he'd never neglected them. If he had, why would he even bother busting into high-security places to get them back? He'd just settle for what he current had.

"If he is not here--" The slip of the tongue is unintentional. "--where would the League take him?" Rangers dealt with Pokemon. It'd make sense to have them there.

"Probably not, but numbers can help," he counters back though he supposes in the end he would rather do things with a small team than invade anyone with his hoard of Bisharp. [break][break]

"He?" Razz questions unsure if it were a mistake or something else. Was there something else the other was looking for? For now he'll give the other the benefit of the doubt, that he was just a desprate man who wanted his pokemon back. Hopefully this could be a chance for the Ranger to show the other that not the entirely of the League was against them. [break][break]

However all he could do was shrug, "It depends on the situation to which I don't know yours, perhaps if you gave me something to work with I can help you with more info. I've given you this much you're going to need to give a little back in return, I don't need a name but possibly at least the crime that had them taken in the first place?"

The captain winces when his shoulder is suddenly grabbed, but he doesn't fight back. Not yet, especially when Sangria is ready to attack the other for dare laying their hands on their captain. Though he clicks his tongue to stop her, let the man actually hurt him before she and Plum decide to go all out.[break][break]

But he seems to be smart enough to let go after their so-called 'slip.' Razz rubs his shoulder, "Sure a slip," he grumbles as he continues to listen to the other. [break][break]

A wave of overwhelming guilt flooding him when he mentioned his crime. Especially if the other truly was innocent , while he himself was walking scott free on a self inflicted punishment. "I'm sorry," it's genuine that's for sure, pausing as he gives it some thought, "Depends on the pokemon of the person, if they can be worked with often they're given to a government job to help, though if they're deemed they can't be then..." He trails off allowing the silence to speak for itself.[break][break]

"At least that's from cases I've seen, it's not always the same"[break][break]
