In, and out. No need to linger, to twist the blade, when the hallucination made real was already dead. Rhea pulled her blade back just as that burst of fire and smoke engulfed him. [break][break]

She wrinkled her nose at the smell of singed flesh and hair. It was foul, perhaps doubley so due to the fact that there was no place for the acrid air to escape to in the confines of the dynite-rich tunnels. Rhea barked a somewhat incredulous laugh at the swordsman's apology, [break][break]

“Don't be,” she said with a smile, even as her companion reached for a cookie, of all things, after their shared bout of bloodletting, “Everyone has their methods.” [break][break]

Her Ceruledge returned from some unknown corner of the cave with a sack full of ore. Rhea glanced from it to the dog's blade, eyes tracing the path of the bloodthirsty threads, [break][break]

“No, I suppose they weren't.” [break][break]

Fascinating. Did other such yoto exist, or was this blade a special case? She'd have to investigate this matter further, once they were out of these abyssal depths. The air here was becoming thicker, headier, and Rhea was eager to depart as soon as possible, [break][break]

“Ready to go?” [break][break]

She took the sack of ore from Cain and peered inside, picking out a few less than ideal bits of rock and dynite to lighten the load. She felt a sickness start to fester in the pit of her stomach, though whether it was from that lingering smell of charred flesh or the dynergy poisoning setting in, she wasn't sure.
