The pinkette stretched slightly as she walked through the woods, August, her typhlosion, trotting by her side. "Can't you lighten up a bit? This is a contest! It's supposed to be fun!" She excitedly smiled at the fire-type, who merely snorted; he really wasn't looking forward to it. And sure, sure, wriggling, gross bugs weren't...exactly fun, But..."You know what's funner than fun? Winning." She innocently hummed, strutting forward and 'ignoring' the look of realization, and flash of competition, that blazed in the typhlosion's eyes. With a soft, almost challenging growl, he hurriedly followed after the trainer.

"Let's win this!"

From atop the trees, a rather massive figure dropped, water sputtering from its large, watery head as it did so. Noelle jumped back with a startled little 'eep', whilst August growled softly as the droplets hit against its fiery form. "That's a bug, right?" Noelle questioned her partner, who gave her an irritated, 'duh' sort of look. Pointing towards the spidery pokemon, the girl soon commanded, "quick attack," and with a blur, the typhlosion launched himself forward. His larger body tackled into the spider, dragging it to the ground. The bug delivered a crippling liquidation to the fire-type's face. Letting out a snarl of both pain and anger, a burst of intense fire, an inferno left the pokemon's jaws, incinerating the wild pokemon's face in the process. It was enough to cause the araquanid to sputter backwards, frantically batting at its face in attempt to relieve the burn it sustained. But, the enraged typhlosion barely gave it let up time.

The aggressive pokemon quickly released a swift from its mouth, not waiting from a command from its slightly stunned trained. The water spider hit the tree before them with a thud, slumping to the ground and not moving. "Good...job? Do you uhm...need Peach? She can heal you - because, you know, that water attack to the face definitely looked pretty-" A loud snarl quickly made the pinkette stop talking, as she huffed loudly. He was so grouchy. Not bothering her typhlosion any longer, she instead tossed one of the supplied pokeballs at the defeated spider.

Continuing on their path, a small screech erupted from the dragon tamer’s lips as she walked face first into a sticky strand of spider webs. August immediately stared over at her, the fire on his neck blazing abruptly in alarm as if looking for an unseen enemy. “I-I’m fine!” The girl choked out despite the gross feeling of the silky, bear invisible strands on her face. She reached out to her face, peeling off the web with a gag. Had the Araquanid made this? No, that didn’t seem logical...although, abruptly, a form dropped before them. It quickly melted in the shadows, sneaking up behind the typhlosion and attacking with its pinschers. Thankfully, the fight intuition in the Pokémon was sharp. He whirled, crashing into the bug type with a flame charge. Forced from out of its hiding spot, the Ariados glowered at them both. Poison dropped from its pinschers as they glowed a toxic purple. In a flurry of movements it dashed forward, trying to stab at the fire type. “August, use quick attack to avoid them!” She shouted at her Pokémon, who did just that. Finally, the spider stopped its flurry of attacks, enough for a fiery inferno to greet its brief opening spot. With that, the wild Pokémon was down for the count. “Good job!” Noelle brightly encouraged, tossing a ball at the downed bug type.

There was something...weird about these parts of the woods. For some odd reason, the place was covered in spiderwebs. Had she strolled back into that Ariados' territory? Blinking a few times, she looked over at August, who, the moment he stared back at her, paled. Just leaning over her shoulders, with its front, gross appendages touching her shoulders and mandibles parted and drooling, a galvantula loomed over her. "Wha-" Before she could even say anything, she felt the wetness dribble down her back, and the pinkette tentatively looked up, eyes widening and mouth opening and closing several times. "Oh....Oh. Let's...let's not do that...let's..." Her trembling voice held faux calmness as she tried not to stare into its...many eyes. "August!" She immediately squealed out in a loud scream. She ducked and rolled - and just in time. The protective fire-type had immediately rammed himself into the terrifying spider with a flame-charge, dragging it to the ground, and effectively knocking it out.

Panting slightly as she stared at the defeated bug type with a rising and falling chest, she shakily tossed a pokeball out at it. "Lets...go to a different part of the woods."

Abruptly, a shimmer of scale dust and embers fell right before the pinkette, who immediately stepped back. Before them, a volcarno appeared in all of its simmering glory - now this....this was a find! Smiling at August, she abruptly noticed that the typhlosion seemed a bit winded. "Take it easy, August. Venus, let's go!" She called out with a sudden pop of a pokeball. Before her, a massive serpentine like creature towered; her gyarados. Once a frail magikarp, the water type had grown, flourishing in Noelle's overabundance of love for the cute, dumb creature. If anything, it was one of the more better tempered of its kind, to perhaps even affectionate with people even other than her trainer.

Venus' head dipped down to her trainer, nestling against the girl's back before facing her fiery advisory. A sudden gale of wind harshly blew against the gyarados' face in a gust, but, Venus wasn't fazed any. "Aqua tail!" The command was followed, as the powerful sweep on its tail cloaked in water sent the flying bug...well, flying. The attack was followed by a throw of a sports ball.

"Good job!" August himself only let out a little scoff - was he jealous?

Taking a brief break to show her gyarados some affection, she failed to notice the feeling of being watched until the sound of something charging got her attention. "Do...you hear that?" She asked her pokemon, both the fire and water types merely tilting their heads. It was when an almost angry 'bzztt' caught her ears did she finally look down and see a small, very...rectangular looking bug that stared intently up at her. "Oh...uh...hey little gu-" Before she could even speak, the thing lunged at her. The vicious, angry little caterpillar hit her smacked dab in the forehead, and it...surprisingly hurt. Eyes briefly rolling to the back of her had as she fell back onto the ground, she heard the outraged roar of her gyarados.

Its body wrangled about, nearly knocking down several trees as the large pokemon slammed her tail down onto the charjabug with another aqua tail, followed by an inferno from august. it seemed even as grumpy and rude as he was, he did care about his trainer not getting hurt. assaulted by two powerful attacks, the smaller pokemon stood no chance as it went rolling and limp, defeated at that instant. it took a moment of grumbling and complaining from noelle before she decided to, finally, tap a pokeball to its head, sucking it inside. "violent little bug..."

There was a slight, tingly feeling, as though something was crawling on her. Automatically, the pinektte looked up with a little bristle, expecting to see the salivating jaws of aother pokemon, but, there was nothing. It was then, from the corner of her eyes, did she see the long, stilt like legs of the green spider creeping from out of her shadow in a very eerie motion. She jumped, letting out a yelp as her arms flailed.

"Get it away - get it away!" She practically bawled to her pokemon. Imagie, a woman who dealt with fire-breathing dragons on a daily basis terrified of 'creepy crawlies'. August looked at her with a 'really' sort of expression, but, Venus was more than ready to protect her trainer. Protective and loving, a loud bellow echoed from the gyarados' parted maw. A massive eruption of fire, more than a bit of an overkill, spat from out her gaped jaws; fire blast. The poor spinark never stood a chance. The ground singed black ad the grass was gone in the instant the powerful attack met its target, and Noelle almost felt bad for frying the pokemon to a crisp but...it deserved it. The hell was up with spider pokemon and creeping up on others?

She huffed, rubbing her arms for a second in an effort to calm her nerves before tossing a sports ball at the singed creature.
