"Merci, Pierre!" Giselle smiled at the chauffeur as the elder gentleman opened the door of the limousine for her. She took her time stepping out of the luxurious vehicle, being careful not to take the wrong step. She lowered her designer sunglasses away from her fair face and placed them up against the brim of her stylish dark pink hat. Her piercing metallic blue-gray eyes were slightly widening in astonishment after taking in her current environment. "Umm, Pierre, this doesn't look like Lilycove City to be. At least not from what I remember as a little girl." Giselle giggled nervously as she turned her body around to face her chauffeur, only to notice that he is no longer around, nor is the limousine nowhere in sight. "Pierre! Are you serious?!" She shouted out, her face turning bright red as she started to put the puzzle together. She did not have a discussion with her parents about living in Kalos to travel to Hoenn. She figured it would be a waste of her time because they would not approve of their "baby girl" traveling to a foreign region on her own. So, she decided to take the easy route by writing them a letter to explain her decision. Unfortunately for her, her parents must have read her letter, reached out to their connections, and requested for them to intervene on their daughter's plans.

"I can't believe it! Sometimes, I wish parents would just mind their own business! I am an adult now, and I can do whatever it is that I want to do." She pouted, folding her arms underneath her chest. She then glanced over at the Fennekin resting on top of her expensive luggage. "You don't seem to be too upset about this, huh? Where are we anyway?" She questioned, taking out her Rotom Phone, then opening her "town map" app. "Verdanturf Town? Why would my parents want me to come here?" She asked out loudly more to herself than to anyone else around here. Luckily, it does not take her too long to answer her own question. "Tommy... He lives here, right?" She spoke, glancing over at her fire fox. The Fennekin simply tilted her head at her trainer's question. "Right... Well, there is nothing else that we can do... We might as well say hello, then ask him to take us to Lilycove City," she stated, walking over to her belongings. "I can't believe that I have to carry my own luggage... I should have fired Pierre for leaving us stranded like this! I mean, look at this. We are on a farm or something!" she mumbled. grabbing her luggage as she led the way to the ranch.

After a few minutes of walking along the path, Giselle and her Pokemon finally arrive in front of Tommy's place. A deep sigh escaped from her mouth as she used her dainty hand to knock against his door. "Toooooommmmmyyyy!" She called out to him.

When Thomas received the phone call, Thomas was alarmed, to say the least. The idea of his little sister going to another Region wasn't what caused him to be so alarmed. No, it was the fact that she chose Hoenn, of all places. Galar was close in his ranking of Regions he didn't want her to touch. For obvious reasons, he was relieved she didn't choose Kanto.

Thomas waited for his little sister's arrival. An Eevee was perched on top of his head, while he held an Audino in his arms. In turn, the Audino's stubby arms were wrapped around Thomas, her head nestled into him lovingly.

Outside, a Wooloo bleated out in greeting at the young noblewoman. An Arcanine, taking notice of her scent, raced up towards her. Despite his large size, Rufus' demeanor was friendly.

Upon hearing the knocking, Gene hopped down from Thomas' head, and Bunni let go of her master, allowing him to greet his little sister. The Audino gingerly caught the Eevee, holding the little guy in her arms.

Thomas opened the door to spot his little sister, standing out like a sore thumb. Unlike her, he was dressed more for the part of the Ranch. A rugged button-up shirt, a pair of blue jeans, and well-worn work boots.

"Gigi, it's good to see you.", he greeted the blonde. Despite his warm smile, his tone was heavy with concern for her. "Need me to carry your luggage in?", he asked her.

"Eek!" A sharp shriek escaped from Giselle's mouth as she almost jumped out of her skin after hearing the unexpected bleat sound off from the Wooloo's mouth. Her icy blue-gray eyes shifting over towards the adorable ball of wool. "Oh Mon Dieu! You scared me!" She responded to the Wooloo, carefully placing her right hand over her chest. Fendi could not help but to laugh at her trainer's antics. "Fendi! It is not funny! We will see who will be laughing at that Wooloo ends up being your roommate," she teased the fox as a couple of soft giggles escaped from her lips. The Fennekin let out a quick snarl as she turned her head away from her trainer, then tilted her nose high in the air. Giselle's attention is soon taken away from Fendi the moment she notices a majestic Arcanine approaching her. She narrowed her stunning eyes at the Arcanine for a few seconds before slowly taking a few steps towards him. "Rufus?" she questioned, a little bit of uncertainness ringing through her voice a bit. "It is you! Oh, my! You are not so little anymore." She giggled, reaching out to give his head a gentle pat before nuzzling him a bit.

Upon hearing her older brother's voice, Giselle straightened up her body and shifted her attention towards him. "Tommy." She greeted him, narrowing her eyes at him a bit. She was excited to see him, but she also felt a little disappointed. "You knew that I was coming here, didn't you?!" She responded, shoving her luggage against his chest. "I cannot believe that our parents decided to intervene with my plan. I was supposed to be headed to Lilycove City, yet here I am. I am not a little kid any more!" she declared, despite her voice sounding a bit whiny.

"Tommy! What am I supposed to do now? I am not going to survive here! My wardrobe will not be able to withstand these conditions! Look at my designer boots; they are almost completely ruined by all of the mud! Arceus, just take me away!" She spoke out, placing her backside against the wall before dramatically sliding down it. Fendi rolled her eyes at her trainer's performance before waltzing over to greet the other Pokemon.

The Wooloo let out another innocent bleat at the noblewoman and her Fennekin, before rolling off. The innocent creature continued to play, being playfully chased by a friendly Dragonite.

Rufus barked happily as Giselle recognized him. The old Arcanine's tail wagged back and forth eagerly, nuzzling her back affectionately.

Upon being greeted by his little sister, his worry became more apparent. Though one could chalk her attire to expecting the setting of Lilycove, she still stuck out like a sore thumb.

"Yeah, mom and dad called me.", Thomas admitted to her plainly. He took her luggage, and began to carry it inside, motioning her her to follow him to the guest room he set aside for her. "Can you blame 'em? Hoenn's a total warzone.", he responded to her, getting down to brass tacks.

"You didn't bring clothes you were willing to have take a beating? If you think this is bad, wait 'til you hit the Routes. Deserts, sootfall, heavy rain. Place will tear clothing to shreds.", Thomas responded to her. "If you need to clean your boots, Desiree has stuff for that. And for future reference, I can show you the footpath I put in place, so that Desiree doesn't ruin her shoes.", Thomas offered.

He was surprised that the chauffeur didn't at least drop her off closer, or on the route with the footpath.

After her dramatic performance, Giselle sighed, then stood up on her feet as she followed Thomas to the guest room. "Oh, Tommy. Hoenn can't be too bad! I am sure it has its own problems just like any other region." She responded, waving her left hand in the air as if she were waving off his previous comment.

Giselle would come to a quick halt as she continued to listen to Tommy's words. Unfortunately for her, a lot of the information her older brother shared with her she did not think about before taking a great leap of faith. She has some experience with traveling on her own, but that was a little while ago. "No need to worry, Tommy! I will go shopping and buy new clothes! Clothes for all types of weather and terrian!" ⁣ She added with a wide and bright smile. She might as well attempt to be optimistic, right? "Oh, Desiree! Where else she? Maybe I can visit her, too!" She beamed with even more excitement. Perhaps her brother's girlfriend would also be open to her moving in for a little bit? At least, until she gets settled in and finds her own place. It would be a lot better than living on a ranch.

"No offense, Tommy. I am sure this place has its own little charm or whatever... But you left home to live out here in the middle of nowhere?" She spoke out to him, glancing up to make eye contact with him. It is no secret that her brother cares a lot about Pokemon, but he could have found a place big enough for them in a beautiful city, right? Maybe she will need to take a tour around his home to get a better understanding of his decision and potentially learn how to appreciate it a lot more.

Thomas sighed heavily. This was going to be a long day. "Yeah, once you get past the terrorists seeking world domination, cosmic forces trying to kill us all, and the very gods wreaking havoc on the Region, Hoenn really isn't so bad.", Thomas responded dryly.

The guest room in question, like the rest of the house, was quaint, but with plenty of space. If she were to sit on the bed, she'd find it to be very comfortable. An Indeedee walked into the room, offering to take care of Giselle's boots for her.

"Thank you, Amy.", he told the Indeedee with a warm smile, his gratitude clear for her help.

"If you say so.", Thomas responded to her remark about getting new clothing. After all, she had the money. For the time being he put her luggage down in the bedroom carefully.

"Desiree is in Lavaridge Town. She's their Gym Leader, actually.", he pointed out. "I suppose their hot springs is on your list. I know Desiree will be happy to see you again.", Thomas remarked.

"Settling here wasn't a part of the plan, to be honest. When I got transferred here from Unova, I lived in Rustboro. After I had to resign from the International Police, the previous owner was selling the land, didn't want to run the place. So I scooped it up, and made it my own.", Thomas began. "The scenery is beautiful. The air quality is the best in the Region. Rustboro is through the Rusturf Tunnel, and the rest of the Region is beyond Route 117. Not to mention I'm able to expand underground.", Thomas explained to her.

Outside, an Audino with longer, fluffier fur greeted the Fennekin. The Audino let out a sweet little cry in greeting, his smile beaming and equally sweet.

For a moment, a concerned facial expression is shown over Giselle's face as she listened to the words escaping from her brother's face. She then narrowed her piercing eyes at him as a couple of soft giggles sound off from her mouth, and she gives him a playful shove. "Tommy! You almost had me fooled there for a minute! Ha! I cannot believe that some people like to think I am the dramatic one in the family!" She shook her head and laughed a bit. Poor Giselle, if she watched the news she would know that Tommy was not joking around with her.

Giselle's attention soon shifted from Tommy once the kind Indeedee approached her and offered to take care of her filthy boots. "Oh, thank you!" Giselle smiled, stepping out of her boots and handing them over to Amy. Giselle then flopped down on the bed. Her eyes widen a bit as she takes her hand to pat the bed a couple of times. "Oh, this bed is pretty comfortable," she admitted with a small smile.

"A gym leader? Really? Is there anything she can't do?" She giggled, carefully pushing herself up from the comfortable bed to stand up on her two feet. "Aww, you know me pretty well, huh? The hot springs are definitely on my list to check out while I am in Hoenn!" She responded to him. In fact, she could use a visit to the hot springs right now. But alas, she will have to wait a little longer to experience them.

"Well, it sounds like you love being here, and that is all that matters, right? I hate to admit it, but you do seem a lot happier here," she pointed out with a warm smile. Despite their sibling banter, Giselle does care about Tommy a lot, and it makes her happier to see him in a better place in life. "Wait... What do you mean about being able to expand underground?" She questioned, raising her left eyebrow at his previous statement. It looks like she is about to find out what he meant by those words as she put her clean boots on, then followed him outside.

Fendi let out a joyous cry when the fluffy Audino made his way over to her. "Aww, that's the fluffiest Audino I have ever laid eyes on," ⁣ she stated in awe as she admired Pulse for a few seconds.
