Poliwrath and Caius had arrived on the scene not long ago, the mayor had explained the issue and on the outside it sounded super simple. In fact Caius had almost laughed out loud. Not that the situation was funny but it was kinda scary. The entire town was in danger, if their Corsala got eaten, that was intense so much was at stake and he was excited! [break][break]

Standing at the water’s edge he was stretching his arms and legs as he waited for his partner to arrive. This was going to be a sick fight and hopefully whoever he was teamed up with would back him up in a good way but not take all of the fun for themselves. [break][break]

Evan didn't get calls from the league very often, he was starting to wonder if the state of peace they were in had dropped the number of people on their call list greatly enough for him to be near the top. Why else would they be dragging him out to a place like this to deal with a hoard of wild pokemon doing what pokemon do?

He couldn't say no though, the history of pacifidlog town and the corsala colony they were built on was vast and fascinating. Enough so he'd done a piece on them a few years back, one of the last times he had passed through Hoenn. Of course, that also meant Evan was a little late making it to the rendezvous point because he kept coming across members of the small town that recognized him. He had to swear on his life he'd be back for a slice of pie and to see how everyone was doing in order to get them to let him go- time crunch and all that. The chittering joltik on his shoulder mimicking a forward march motion seemed to help.

It was this same Joltik that launched itself from his shoulder as they approached a familiar figure, landing beside the man with as much a cry as the little critter could manage in an attempt to seem fierce and ready for battle. "Fancy seeing you here, they call you in for this too?" he asked the familiar face with his trademark grin, a flick of his wrist calling the joltik back up to his shoulder as it skittered up his side.

At least it was someone he felt he could count on for this one.

He wasn’t alone for long, a small chitterings cry crying out loud. Caius looked down to see the electric tick Pokemon. It’d become evident that it wasn’t a wild Pokemon, but it wasn’t like he’d try to catch it because it wasn’t a heavyweight nor was it tall enough to be on his squad. All the same he appreciated the determination.[break][break]

No long after the small Pokemon made its appearance a familiar face did as well, evan fader in the flesh. With a smile he’d nod to the other trainer, “Yep, I couldn’t resist the chance to play hero a bit ya know? Don’t get me wrong being your handy man is fun and all but I’ve been feeling a little cooped up lately.” [break][break]

His Poliwrath was doing much of the same, flexing and stretching like his trainer waiting for his orders.

“So, you using that tick of yours this mission?” [break][break]

"Are you kidding?" the quirked brow is almost cartoonish on his features, the eyes and the metal meeting a smirk on his lips almost like a villain with some sly secret. "I get cooped up in that place dear, humans weren't meant to spend their lives in boxes." the gentle chuckle makes it seem like it should be a given that the guy is out and about when he can be, after all Evan can deal with a little leak now and again on his own if it means his people get the time to rest from their work. He's not interested in making their lives harder.

A slender finger pets the head of the little creature on his shoulder and it chitter at the scritch with a gleeful half closed eye. Despite it's typing the pokemon seems to be very receptive to attention. "Preferably. Ever dealt with mareanie? Pretty vile things when they want to be and they can be tough to get rid of once they take a liking to a place." Evan eyes the poliwrath with a knowing look. While the bug is by no means one ot be triffled with in their given situation, it could quickly become the case for friend as much as foe. He turns the his wrist to face him and nudges one of the balls into releasing the back member. His Musharna settles at his feet comfortably. "Vince is the alternative option."

The psychic type murmurs a hello, a common site around the Stray as one of Evan's oldest pokemon.

He couldn’t help but smile at the other male as they prepped for battle, “Well hey, I can’t lie to ya boss I do miss it from time to time. It is the only home I got.” he loved the stray! It was more of a home than anything else he had found since he left home. He was glad to have found such a nice start to his journey. [break][break]

“Ey, Poliwrath dive into the water and wait for the swarm,” he commanded to his Pokemon before looking down at the psychic type, he nearly jumped out of his skin when he saw it. “I-is that a psychic type boss?” [break][break]

He cleared his throat as he looked down at the pink and purple Pokemon, a small bead of sweat raced down his chin as he tried his best to keep collected, “I uh, oh wow.”[break][break]

"I would hope so, otherwise I'd have to worry I was doing something wrong." which was always possible, the man was a bit of a space cadet and could obnoxiously forgetful. Both things that often made working in their kind of establishment a hassle but Evan tried to make the place feel like it was worth while, if it wasn't a home in its own way then how could he expect any of them to put effort into the place and what they did? The way Evan saw it he couldn't.

The look on his face in response to the psychic is an instant reminder of one of those things he never quite seems to remember no matter how many times he sees it. "Take it easy, he's gotta be here if you don't want your buddy getting fried." Evan explains calmly, hoping that it will help make it a little easier. A nod of his head encourages the musharna to move to the other side of his feet anyway just in case.

"Two things a mareanie doesn't like, psychic a d electricity. But electricity is gonna fry your water type as much as them, but if he uses his psychic as a buffer to contain the joltik's attacks we can keep them from going hayward in the water and hitting your guy too." Evan pays close attention to the look on his face, wanting to be sure he'd be alright with this before they were too far to go back.

[break][break]Caius didn’t know what to make of this. He was dreadfully afraid of ALL psychic Pokemon. He made a habit of learning most of the known species in case he saw one and he knew to turn his tail and run, this one was one of those. He didn’t pin the name down immediately but the tremble in his lip would have stopped him anyway. [break][break]

“A-a-are you sure? Maybe we can work something out.” he cleared his throat, he could feel it getting drier with every fleeting second the pink Pokemon was in play. Still, there was a job to do but he wasn’t sure if he could go through with it. “What moves does it know?” the words dropped his nerves as he tried to maybe initiate coming up with a plan as a distraction. He'd have to trust the evan fader on this one.

Oof.

Evan makes a mental note to really try and remember this, he's just not too used to it. People fearing things like ghost pokemon or even dark types, disliking bugs, these are things he's commonly come across but the younger man's response to psychic's is something he's simply not used to. Most seem to see them as nothing but high use pokemon, common and easy to fit on just about any team.

"The main ones he's going to use is either psychic or telekinesis to lift them out of the water and contain my joltik's electricity away from the water, divide and conquer a bit you know? We'll take the ones he lifts up and you take the ones still in the water."

At least that had been his plan, he assumed his partner would either bring electric pokemon themselves (in which case they would be able to keep from harming the corsola in the colony) or water types like this as well. Then again he had expected a random stranger.

"If you're really not okay with it though we can make do with something else." he says, it would take some other manners of finagling but he could make it happen one way of another.

I would run far, far away from that Pokemon of yours so far that I’d probably end up in the next region over but there is a town on the line and you and I are the only ones capable, no, able to stop this menace so you use this Pokemon thing and you hold the line. You get me?”
