Bo didn’t know a whole lot about the region. She’d learned about the towns around the region from childhood classes but she’d left school before any of that could really sink in. Helping with the farm and housework was enough to keep her busy. Sometimes she went into 'town' -- Slateport -- to help sell their goods. She remembered the tourists in Slateport used to be particularly interested in fresh fruits, not that they had much of those. There was only one berry tree on the farm and it was harder to keep up than any of the crops.

But, if there was one thing Bo did know, it was that she wanted to know more about the region. Originally she had set her eyes on Fallarbor but, thanks to her superb map-reading skills, she took a wrong turn and ended up in Fortree. Now, with the cold weather setting in, no flying pokemon, and not much money, Bo had decided to bounce between Fortree and Lilycove for a bit.

She didn’t really think she was cut out for the cold. At least, it didn’t seem so as she tugged her jacket closer in response to a slow but icy breeze. She could feel the cold burn across her face and her nose slowly start running in response. She sniffed to clear it up. Burke didn’t seem quite as bothered as he ambled lazily beside her. She was grateful for his company but as they neared Lilycove she reached up to stroke his neck. ”A’right bud,” he tossed her an unamused look. ”I gotta find some work, why don’t you get some rest?” She gave him a warm smile but she knew he was still not amused. He was used to being in the fields at home -- not in a stuffy pokeball. But they both knew his size could make things a bit difficult. He gave a soft snort as she pulled out his pokeball and with a touch of his nose and a red glow, he returned to his pokeball.

Remembering the time she’d been on the receiving end of a nasty glare for wiping her nose on her sleeve in public, she sniffed and wiped her nose hastily with the back of her sleeve before starting into the town. Maybe she could get some tissue or something. People wouldn’t look at her funny if she used that, right? But she’d have to get some work going before she could get any of that.

Lilycove seemed very different than Slateport - where she could nose around and find someone who needed extra hands within minutes. Slateport was fast with people everywhere - more people than she thought could live in one spot. Even though Lilycove was big too, it just didn’t seem to have the same cold, faceless, buzzing crowds that Slateport did. She wandered through town looking for something akin to the temp agencies in Slateport, until a flyer, flapping angrily against the post beside her, caught her attention.

Bo peered at the stickers that lined the sides of the paper, some sparkling as the paper continued to flap. She reached up to flatten out the paper and read in bold, pink lettering ’Help Wanted’. She guessed Lilycove had their own, unique, way of finding help. Either way, the more she read, the more she felt like it must have been fate.

It took her about an hour of asking for directions, wandering down the wrong street, and asking for directions again (and secretly wiping her nose when she thought no one was looking) until she stood in front of the ‘Collins Family Daycare’. She shifted her tool bag on her shoulder and, with a beaming red nose and half-frozen hands, scuttled inside, very unsure of what she might find in a place like a pokemon daycare.

tldr: Tired of those creaky floors,
pesky out-of-reach-lights,
and leaky roofs?
Don't worry, get yourself a Bo!
