Born as Edward Collins, Elise had a strange childhood. Beyond the constantly busy parents, she had to contend with the fact that nothing about her person felt right. Kinda difficult emotions to comprehend as a little kid, but she did her best. Unfortunately, that meant doing her best to try and act like a good little boy. That's what she was supposed to be right? Beyond that whole can of worms, she had a pretty pleasant childhood. She lived a simple childhood with her grandparents and older sister Avery. Of course, she had parents, but they were always too busy to see her. She didn't seem to mind too much either way, they still gave her toys and stuff. In all honesty, Elise has always been a pretty passive kid. She had trouble making decisions for herself, and typically just followed in whatever her older sister did. [break][break]

However by the time she was 10, she managed to make her own decision. Though it was less of a decision made in the moment, but more finally vocalizing something. She was a girl. Not many people seemed to think so, and she looked a lot like a boy, but she was a girl. Avery was pretty quick on the upkeep, calling her Elise right away. Her grandparents and parents took a little longer to call around, but they eventually realized their mistakes. Unfortunately, people at school weren't the nicest about it. They still insisted on calling her Edward, and all sorts of other mean names. Not like she particularly cared either way, but it just made her retreat further into her shell.[break][break]

Her home life was pretty tame though. Avery and her grandparents decided that they were gonna properly fix up their daycare and open it to the public. Of course, Elise helped a bit, but she never felt that invested. She loved Pokemon, but she wasn't nearly as good at her sister at playing with them. She didn't really know how to raise them properly, and always ended up making some kind of mistake. Whether it be feeding them too much, not enough, accidentally stepping on a tail, or just trying to play when the Pokemon didn't want to play. She wasn't exactly surprised when her grandparents gave Avery a bunch of eggs to hatch, but she couldn't help but get a bit jealous. Elise was younger, but she still thought she could at least have one egg to herself. [break][break]

Elise would eventually get her wish shortly after they moved into Lilycove. There was a small white Vulpix that Avery hatched, and it happened to be a bit feisty. It tended to try and scrap with the other Pokemon, which wasn't exactly very nice of her. It's not like Elise minded though, she still played with the Vulpix whenever she could, and the two quickly grew quite the rapport together. So much so, that she even started to take the white little lady with her to school (even if she definitely wasn't allowed to do so). She finally sated her curiosity after watching so many Pokemon battles on the schoolyard, and managed to participate in one herself. Impressively enough, she didn't just participate, she won, a lot. Her and Vulpix took on all sorts of battles that day, and always managed to emerge on top. After excitedly running home from school for the first time in years, her grandparents decided to let her keep the Vulpix. [break][break]


As the years went on, Elise continued to happily train her Vulpix near the daycare. Luckily for her, Vulpix wouldn't be her only new friend. Anytime Avery hatched an egg that had that natural battling spirit within them, Elise was happy to take them under her wing. She managed to find a passion, or at least she thought. She loved making her Pokemon happy, and she was good at it, so why should she stop? By the time that she had six friends under her wing, she started to feel a little bored. There was only so much of battling the same people that she could handle. She wanted to go out and see the world. With quite a bit of convincing, she managed to convince her grandparents to let her challenge the various gyms around Hoenn. Hopefully through this journey, she could find what she really was passionate about.
