repeated pangs beat against the steel doors of the shadow chamber. they increase in tempo until it becomes a shower of constant echoes. numerous pokemon surround the chamber in anticipation of the subject forcing its way out. several alarms sound off, a warning to let them know to stay clear as the chamber decompresses. when the doors part a flood of dreepy spill forth.

like maggots, these ghost embed themselves in any form of flesh they can find. they dig in, parasitic in nature, INFESTING the host as human and pokemon alike dig at their wounds to pry the ghost loose. the dragapult itself seems no different, arrogant with its hammer-head tilted upwards in a look of conceit.

the rocket admin commands both the armada of smuggler ships coming into hoenn as well as the shadow dreepy stocked in dragapult’s fins.

  • this pokemon cannot be prevented from using the move DRAGON DARTS. this includes attacks such as TAUNT, TORMENT, ENCORE, etc.
  • the dreepy fired by DRAGON DARTS may bury into the enemy’s body instead of dealing damage. this must be stated or described in their post. this ability can be toggled but must be activated prior to the attack being discharged.
  • when buried, the dreepy afflict the INFESTATION status effect. those afflicted with INFESTATION due to this pokemon can end the status condition early by finding a way to purge the dreepy from the wound. pokemon exposed to INFESTATION for five turns within a thread will become CURSED for the rest of the thread.

this time the shadowfication process is considered a failure. there’s no signs of life from the specimen when the doors part open. only a lifeless husk planted right where they left it.

having seen countless pokemon die before no one bats an eye. the shedinja is just another statistic. they remove the remains and ready it for disposal. as trash, the pokemon is disposed off and piled into a chute that goes god knows where. it can be processed later by the science department. just one carcass among many.

  • this pokemon can revive itself ONE POST after it has been FAINTED or KILLED. this number increases each time the pokemon revives itself in the same thread.
  • when this pokemon revives an OMINOUS WIND will strike at all pokemon nearby.

the shadow lab is running out of juice. whatever compound they used for the process before is rationed out as the science team puts the shadow pokemon initiative on hiatus. efforts at recreating the serum have proved fruitless. no one is able to substitute the x-factor drafted by the combined insanity of cadis and the genius doctors dumont and fowl.

the underboss is given the last workable attempt as they try to subjugate another delcatty. they’ve already progressed too far along across this species line to give up now. mutual grit between the sunken cost fallacy of their research silences the air as the chamber is locked into place. the whirling clinks of gears and mechanisms fall into place as the procedure carries on as per usual.

but something goes wrong. terribly wrong. the energy output by the shadowfication process seems to go awry. bright light seeps out from the cracks across the steels doors. readings on numerous measuring tools inverse their expected output and the shadow serum is depleted well beyond the measured dosage. the scientist wail as their reserves are eaten up without remorse.

when the chamber opens, the underboss’ delcatty struts out with little care for the consequences of its transformation. while others continue to observe the pokemon from a distance, it ignores them, purring as it licks its paws clean from its feast. the shadow process may have scrambled its DNA but this pokemon is no stranger to DESTABLIZED circumstances.

  • delcatty has unlocked an event move: TRI-ATTACK. this is an exclusive 7th move that cannot be replaced.
  • delcatty has unlocked the event ability DESTABILISE; when affected by TERRAIN, WEATHER, or STATUS CONDITIONS, the user’s NORMAL attacks become the same type as the type of the respective move (e.g. rain dance -> water) that is affecting them. they may also switch their current TYPING as well.
