Alec grinned after Patrick had spoke about his Steelix, continuing to admire her from afar. "I bet! She's seems really strong too! I can't wait to see what's she's made of in battle!" Alec said, showing excitement already for Patrick's Gym Challenge. He wondered though if Patrick would be able to win against him in a battle though. Sure, he may not have revealed all of his Pokemon perhaps, but assuming that Steelix was his strongest Pokemon, Alec already knew what was in store for him, which put the Gym Leader advantage. Then again, that's the funny thing about Pokemon. Ya never know the actual outcome of what they can do until they are put to the test in a Pokemon Battle. That made it even more exciting for the young Gym Leader though![break][break]

Alec grinned once more after Patrick had told him to lead the way. That was probably a bad thing though, given the fact that Alec had been in this cave before. Knowing him, he'd probably lead them to numerous dead ends and extremely dangerous Pokemon. However, in some odd way, things still somehow manage to work things on their own when it comes to Alec. "Alright then! Let's go!" Alec said, not even hesitating. His Charizard had a slightly worried expression knowing very well that Alec always got lost very easily in places like this. [break][break]

Within twenty minutes of Alec leading the way, Alec and his new friend, Patrick had come across an entrance to very big part of the cave. There were also what seemed to be what looked like steps that were frozen over with Ice? Alec couldn't tell to be perfectly honest. However, there was something else that had caught Alec's eye. Down below where the steps had led to, the young Gym Leader had seen a Smoochum, trying to lift up a heavy frozen rock, however it was clear that it would be unable to lift it. Alec had begun to look up, seeing how high they were. When Alec seemed to believe that it was safe for Inferno to fly, Alec looked at Inferno and said, Can you give me a hand buddy? I need to get down to that Pokemon over there." Without hesitating, Inferno huffed, letting Alec on his back. Before taking off down below, Alec said to Patrick, "I'd avoid those Icy steps! You can probably use your Steelix to help ya climb down safely though!" and with that, Inferno flapped it's wings, slowly taking flight, quickly gliding down to the floor where the Smoochum was. [break][break]

Due to Alec's and his Charizard's sudden appearance, the Smoochum seemed frightened at the sight of them. "We ain't gonna hurt ya! Hey Inferno, why don't ya help her out and give her a hand with that rock?" Alec said. Again without hesitating, Inferno lifted up the rock for the smoochum, which had quickly moved into the area of where the rock was, excited only to seem disappointed that what she was looking for was not there. Alec was going to ask her what she was looking for, until that is the Smoochum's belly gave a small rumble, signifying that she was looking for food. Without even thinking, Alec took his bag of his back, pulling a berry out from it. Smoochum's eyes light up like a disco ball at the sight of the berry. Alec could tell that she was really hungry because she had snatched it out of his hand rather quickly. Despite that, Alec didn't seem to mind that at all. If it meant helping her out, then what was there to complain about? However, if he was eating it, that was a completely different story.[break][break]

"Say, why don't ya come with me? I can feed ya more food," Alec had said with a grin; holding out a poke ball. The Smoochum jumped up and down with glee, quickly slapping her hand on the button of the Poke Ball, having sealed itself inside. [break][break]
