Heading north from Rustboro after a day of shopping and exploring the city, Florian and his Sylveon walk the beaches of Route 115 at a leisurely pace. Joli chases a passing Wingull as Florian turns his gaze skyward, pondering the darkening sky. They'll have to turn back before it gets too dark to navigate.

A shadow passes overhead. Florian tenses when he spots the Noivern, uttering a startled Kalosian curse, but further inspection reveals its trainer.

"Ah, pardon, I worried for a moment your Noivern was wild." Dragons were known to roam here, given the proximity to Meteor Falls.

"I was not too worried," confesses Florian, offering Marcel a grin. "If she were to bite, this one would certainly bite back!"

His Kalosian accent colours the words as he gestures toward his Sylveon, whose own canines flash in a mimicry of Florian's smile. Joli was incredibly protective of Florian, and it wouldn't be the first time he'd fought a dragon.

He scares off a Haxorus, in fact, the spread of a misty terrain enough to make the Pokemon think twice about approaching.

"It was very helpful, yes!" He nods eagerly. It had been a book about tailoring one's garden to suit their Pokemon: part of a project that Florian had been working on at his Verdanturf residence. "Thank you, again."

Sylveon's misty terrain seems to have attracted the attention of a Swirlix; Florian watches as it entices Joli to play, rolling around in the sand.

"Ah, yes!" He perks up at the mention of home. "I was born there, in fact! I have only recently moved to Hoenn. Have you ever been?"

It was a beautiful region, popular with travelers, so Florian certainly wouldn't be surprised if he had.
