The recent destruction of Slateport’s Marketplace has proven to be more detrimental than expected. Buildings have been blown apart and are currently being rebuilt, but the damage has already been done as homes for both human and Pokemon alike have been lost. Some recent work in rebuilding the broken buildings have been stalled as swarms of bug-type pokemon have infested the construction sites. They’ve proven to be quite hostile to anyone who approach. [break][break]

He lets out a small groan as he scratches at his neck. ”The suit’s a little tight around the Pokeballs…” he laments. Donning the entire suit, helmet and all, is rather uncomfortable for the Altru Inc. President, but it’s something he’s going to have to get used to if he’s going to go after the bastard who’s seized over half of his company. [break][break]

Looking around at the construction site, he wonders if he might catch glimpse of the infamous Pokkenger, but he’s yet to see anyone like that. If it weren’t for the newsletter, he might’ve believed that the entire Masked Vigilante rumor running around Hoenn was a hoax. ”Zero-One, let’s go.” he says, calling for the Blaziken behind him to follow.

Orion arrives via air-Noivern, the scarred wings of the dragon bat catching the light as it descends. Slowly but surely, the two have been working on their bond, and Camazotz even rewards the ranger with a friendly headbutt when Orion dismounts.[break][break]

He was responding to reports of a bug infestation in the Night Market. Having been told to proceed with caution due to the intense hostility of the wild creatures, he comes equipped with a full arsenal of Pokemon. It's his Volcarona that he releases first, given that the fiery moth had proven invaluable in the last swarm-related mission he'd accepted.[break][break]

They're approaching the construction sight when Orion catches sight of a somewhat-familiar individual. The suit's not right, but...[break][break]

"Pokkenger?" he asks, surprised and curious.

Pokkenger? He pauses upon hearing that name so synonymous with his attire. Thinking about it now, he hadn’t really considered what type of name he’d use after donning the suit. Slowly, he turns to look upwards at the stranger – his vizor glowing red. [break][break]

Even before he has a chance to say anything, the sound of metal crashing into the ground can be heard and he quickly turns his head back to see a large Heracross off in the distance bashing itself into one of the metal girders. He frowns behind his mask, realizing that it might be using the construction site as an opportunity to temper itself. Vizors still red, he begins to scan the area. [break][break]

”Two, no three nearby in the area… more further down. Let’s go Zero-One.” he says, quickly charging in towards the closest fighting beetle. It looks back to see the strange costumed man rushing at it and grins, taking it up as a challenge as it begins charging opposite to him. Deciding to use its sudden momentum against him, he slides to a halt and kicks outwards at it. [break][break]

Perturbed by the thought of a human actually trying to fight against it, the Heracross raises both arms to block the kick, not realizing that Pokken Rider’s attack is only a distraction as Zero-One quickly jumps down from above, crashing its leg into the back of its head with a mighty Blaze Kick. [break][break]

”Pokkenger?” he asks, turning back to the stranger. ”No. If you have to give me a title, then Pokken Rider will do.”

Orion's attention is wrenched away from the armour-clad individual as an aggressive Heracross makes its presence known. It's not alone in its apparent quest to assault the still-recovering Night Market. He suppresses a sigh. As if Hoenn didn't have enough to worry about.[break][break]

He whistles for his Volcarona, and the masked individual has already jumped into action. Or, more accurately, slid into action.[break][break]

"Arceus above."[break][break]

Groaning, the ranger follows after him. With no idea as to the competence of the individual, he was going to treat him like any other civilian and do his best to keep the guy from incurring further harm.[break][break]

Volcarona swoops down, crashing into one of the Heracross with a flare blitz.[break][break]

Orion shakes his head. "Mistook you for someone else," he clarifies, then turns his attention back to his Pokemon to ensure she remained safe. "Orion Lykos, Ranger. 'Pokken Rider'. Is that all you go by, or...?"[break][break]

He does his best to remain polite, not looking to offend.
