confusion settles onto her features at the source of an interruption on her stroll. what is that thing? it looks like a toy train, connected together and moving in unison. it's peculiar the way it moves about, marching to the beat of its own drum, shuffling around with rigid movements. still, the woman can't deny it's rather cute. and so, with piqued interest, she wanders closer.

"you're a curious thing," she murmurs toward the unknown pokemon, earning an almost chittering sound in response. it moves closer, then, eager to march in little circles around the dark haired woman. she laughs, a smile rising to her face. "are you trying to herd me?" it's cute and so is this pokemon. perhaps that's why she bends toward it, crouching for a closer look. "i've never seen anything like you! would you mind if i studied you a bit?" ah, but wait, she definitely didn't bring her notebook or a pen and her mind is too much of a clusterfuck these days to retain much information outside of writing notes. damn... well, unless...

"would you like to come along? i have a friend you might be interested in meeting," her smile is warm as she gazes expectantly at the falinks. her thoughts wander to her golurk, a body made purely of machinery. would they have something in common? perhaps... it is this that prompts her to speak further, if only to interest the falinks further. "you guys might just have a few things in common!"

with the cute little falinks safely ushered into a safari ball, the woman begins to press on. flammae takes the lead this time, tails swishing from side to side. a comfortable silence falls over them while distant sounds of safari inhabitants echo around them. it's comfortable here, quiet and serene. if she's being honest, she almost enjoys coming here. a good place to think, to reflect, to witness incredible pokemon.

in fact, one ventures into their path at that very moment. a giant leek trails behind it, slightly covered in dirt, and she recognizes it instantly. a farfetch'd. except... it looks different. the color is off and that leek is much too big for a farfetch'd. is this a new form? it passes her before she can stop it, disappearing into the bushes and away from the curious woman. oh well, perhaps she'll stumble upon another that she could study more closely.

and so, without glancing back, illeana continues on.

did... did someone leave a sword lying around?

illeana looks visibly confused as she passes the sharp weapon, nose scrunching at the sight. who would just leave that there? she's about to get closer, about to pick it up, when it begins to shift and stir. oh god, it's alive?! a squeak escapes the woman as she scrambles back, confusion twisting into panic on her face.

right, there's now pokemon that are shaped like weapons... how could she forget? the woman offers a small apologetic smile before shuffling on, the honedge drifting back into a peaceful slumber once she leaves it be.

by now, she's mostly absorbed in her own thoughts as they wander. for the most part, they're relatively focused on the train-like pokemon she has newly acquired. what kind of creature is it, exactly? are they all little individual pieces that come together to form a flawless machine? she has so many questions she doesn't even know where to begin.

in her distraction, she doesn't notice the charmander that wanders into her path. flammae does, however, and the fluffy fox veers toward illeana's legs, a steering motion normally reserved for when she needs her trainer to stop quickly and efficiently. yet again, she's being herded. "what?" she murmurs with a quick glance toward her ninetales. the fire type merely blinks at her for a moment before turning to stare at the charmander.

it's a curious little thing, wide eyes darting around the area with excitement. the world is so big and bright and it's so small. will it get bigger soon? oh, that'd be lovely!

"oh!" the woman gasps, shuffling a few feet closer before bending toward the small lizard-like pokemon. "you're so cute! actually, you remind me of another charmander i knew." her thoughts drift toward her first encounter with alec foster and inferno. ugh, his charmander was the cutest! such an excited little baby... much like this one, in fact. and so, with a warm smile, illeana offers a hand toward the fire type. "are you exploring?" she earns a nod in response, the charmander moving to grip at her hand with little clawed fingers. oh, adorable. "would you like company? you could explore with us if you'd like? we can go on all sorts of adventures!"

with the charmander's safari ball tucked safely against her belt, she moves on. there's more secrets within this safari and she's determined to see what else it has to offer. although, she doesn't have to look much further.

the next patch of bushes offers a treat in the form of a shieldon. the darling little dinosaur is curious as she approaches, hard head tilting to each side with every step she takes. it's a funny little gesture, almost as if the shieldon is comparing her footsteps to the beat of a drum. this action earns a bout of giggles from the woman as she comes to a full stop before the small creature. "you like music? rock n roll, maybe?" she winks, lowering herself to a crouching position before the fossil pokemon. it's a stupid joke, really, but she can't help the amusement that rises. it seems as though the shieldon finds it amusing, too, as it bounces slightly in its spot. adorable! "i might have a few songs to show you, then!"

a hand is offered to the shieldon, then, and she flashes a bright smile. "if you come along, we could listen to whatever you want. how does that sound?" the shieldon tilts its head a bit more as if mulling over her offer. and then, without warning, the feeling of its hard head is pressed against her hand. a happy coo escapes the funky little dinosaur and she coos right back, smile widening until her cheeks begin to hurt. "oh, you're precious!"

the echo of heavy footsteps causes the bushes to rustle, drawing her attention away from her latest capture almost immediately. what is that? it's getting closer...

a smaller version of her golem marches into their path, the automaton toddler rumbling what sounds like an off-key tune. oh, cute! it's basically a mini deus! she watches as it comes and goes, disappearing further into the safari and for a moment she wonders if deus would enjoy having a smaller golem like itself around. it's a nice thought... although, that little one had looked different than her golurk. different colors, more vibrant than deus' muted ones.

and so, after a brief pause, illeana and her ninetales continue on, her thoughts filled of questions regarding that automaton and the difference of color from her own. curious.
