It had been quite some time since Dorian had been able to do fieldwork. With the way Cadis was running Rocket, Dorian worked behind the scenes, allowing his henchmen to run protection rackets in Slateport, under the guise of smaller gangs. This style of work was not exactly a good fit for the Mad Dog of Rocket, who preferred to be the one collecting debts and protection money, as opposed to calling the shots. It wasn't that he wasn't good at it, just that he preferred to be out on the stage rather than behind the curtain.

The Mad Dog placed a cigarette in his mouth, one that Smoochie Duckie quickly lit with a light puff of fire. Dorian took a drag of the cigarette, smiling to the old Magmar in gratitude. "You're a pal, Smoochie.", Dorian told the Magmar. As he waited for another Rocket to join him in capturing some Steel-types to smelt down, the Rocket Admin brimmed with excitement at the prospect of the job at hand.

This was a rare chance for the Mad Dog to blow off some steam.

any opportunity to get in with the higher ranks was an opportunity for advancement. of herself and of her job, yet mostly for the experience. she was not a rank climber, and had no disillusions. she was a grunt, first and foremost. she was expendable to their organization.

yet that was their mindset. she had ego - not confidence - that she would be seen one day as capable. approaching the spot where the job was taking place, Sidonie's eyes rolled over the man. even as a newer member of Rocket, his 'fame' was known.

a thin smirk traced her lips. fine. she could work with this. let him wear himself out, dissect the remains of his prey... at least she brought along a suitable beast. the newly acquired Golett was at her heels; she learned it liked to punch things.

Dorian would turn to face the dark-haired woman that reported to him. A wide grin manifested on his face, with the cigarette still wedged between his lips, before being removed. "You're just in time, Miss Huntington.", he wouid tell her. "I take it you've been briefed on the mission at hand, yes?", he'd briefly ask, just to make sure. "In any case, after we strip our catches of whatever metals are on their bodies, the rest are yours to do with as you please.", the Mad Dog would tell her, having read up on her, and her talents.

Thankfully for them, this would be easy, as a large flock of Skarmory came flying towards them. With a wide grin, Dorian would bring out the rest of his entourage. An Incineroar, an Emboar, a Chandelure, a Charizard, and a Pyroar would all emerge from their Pokeballs. "I want them alive, for now!", he'd tell the group, who would nod to him, and get into position, waiting for the flock to come to them. The 'for now' part kept the group content, as that implied that Dorian would let them get in their killing later.

so, he knew her name. it made things move quicker - comfortability be damned - and let them focus on the task at hand. "I have" she purred to him, her eyes hooding in thought as they glanced at the approaching Pokemon. the sound of beating metal wings was hard not to hear. one had to be simply deafened to the world around them not to.

she would let Dorian keep the frontal assault. Sidonie did not yet have a suitable Pokemon to melt metal - only punch them until it broke their very bodies. though she had a wonderful set of tools to cut metal - something she had brought along. the Golett with her was kicked in the back with her foot, more or less pushing it forward to 'protect' her as she worked.

it looked nervous, freshly caught and uncertain but a hard stare was enough of commitment. one of the Skarmony dove at the less protected human, breaking away from the flock. instinct to protect one's human partner moved the golem forward. it'd jump up despite its bulk, aiming to break the beak with a jab from its fists. the shadow punch never failed, even if its move lacked type advantage.

the Skarmony recoiled, grounding itself. one down. the woman kept close to Dorian, making sure that if things got dicey she would release more Pokemon to assist them.

Dorian watched the flock circle them, still grinning ear to ear. The team of six that surrounded them, unlike the Golett that looked nervous, all looked confident in what they were about to do. Perhaps it was a testament to how long they had been with the Mad Dog, or just the knowledge that they held the advantage in this situation.

As the first Skarmory was stricken down by the Golett, two more would come in. The Incineroar and Pyroar would step forward, blasting the two Skarmory with a Flamethrower, causing the birds to screech out in terror before dropping to the ground, rendered unconscious by the blast of fire. This display made the rest of the flock wary of approaching them. But before they could consider a retreat, the Chandelure would blast the center-most Skarmory in his sights with a Flame Burst, causing the bird to screech out in pain, and those close to it to squawk in shock as the blast of fire splashed onto them.

Adding onto the 'troubles' approaching them, a colony of Durant would emerge, charging them. Whether they were there to back up the Skarmory, or merely there to fend off the two Rockets, was of little concern. Seeing their arrival made the Mad Dog a happy man. If more packs of Steel-types would come at them, then such an event would make for a good haul.

Good thing he brought a bag full of Pokeballs to deliver them with.

Sidonie did not care to make pleasantries; it distracted her from the task on hand. the man seemed too focused on the battle and his fun to pay her mind. his Pokemon moved in an almost military-like fashion, and she would be damned if her Golett would produce less than satisfactory results. still, no formal command was given to the golem. she let it figure out what to do on its own.

the durant were a problem now, advancing on the two and threatening to swarm them. with no fire type to play on the steel weakness, she would flatten them with the earth instead. "squash them" Sidonie ordered her beast. the Golett paused for a moment before thrusting his feet upon the floor repetitively, making the ground shake in a cone-like vibration.

having faced away from the fire types, the stomping tantrum was not an area of effect move anyway. it had no backlash. the fissure that opened on the ants as a result swallowed a portion of them. their screeching was muffled as the earth closed in around them. but they were not dead, just tied down. antennas and legs clearly seen poking from the ground.

"having fun?" she asked Dorian, seeing his shit-eating grin. unlike him, the woman was harder to please. no challenge was given so far, but she did look forward to dismantling the bodies. perhaps she would be allowed to do it while they were still struggling with life.

Dorian grinned maniacally as the Durant charged them. While the Golett used a Stomping Tantrum to subdue some of them, Dorian nodded to his Pokemon. The rest of the group would stand back, save for the Chandelure, who continued to spew his Flamethrower at the group of Durant and Skarmory indiscriminately. The Magmar that stood with Dorian would step up to the field.

Before he would make his move, Dorian turned to Sidonie and her Golett. "You two might want to take cover!", he told them, going to do so himself. Once given enough time, the Magmar would finally unleash a Lava Plume, consuming the two hordes of Steel-types. Though it was subdued, given Dorian's orders to take the Steel-types alive for processing, it was still enough to make most of his team grimace, save for the Chandelure, who gladly took in the flames, allowing them to strengthen him.

The result was several metal birds falling out of the sky, and the horde of Durant dropping like flies. Dorian would give the dark-haired woman a bag full of Pokeballs. "Very good! Now let's get them contained, before any Rangers show up. There's a foundry in Slateport that'll allow us to work on 'em without any tr-", he tried to tell her, before loud stomping interrupted him.

An Aggron would burst out at them, roaring angrily at the group of humans and Pokemon attacking the denizens of the area.

breaking for cover, she would leave her Pokemon to either catch up on its own or fall by the flames. luckily for it, the golem would book it right after its new trainer, diving just in time as the fire unleashed itself.

after retrieving herself from cover, Dorian tossed her some empty spheres. she would begin collecting the fallen bodies, still alive, and capturing them with nary a word of complaint. as the light consumed them, she had time to obtain at least two Skarmony -

before shit hit the fan, that is. bursting into the open, an Aggron would challenge them next. Sidonie looked dismissively up at it; though the resources it gave team rocket were to be quite lush. "take care of it" she said to the Golett.

the tiny golem stared openly at the Aggron, glancing at its trainer with a look of wait what? it stared back at the massive creature, feeling chills down its ghostly spine. to its credit, it rushed the beast and began pummeling anything it could find.

the Aggron retaliated by whipping its tail around - and to the shock of normal people - was seized by the golem almost immediately. for a little guy, it was strong. he yanked the beast off its feet. "quick - burn it" Sidonie proclaimed to Dorian, while the beast was subdued.

Dorian watched as the Golet managed to handle itself well, despite the size difference. As it yanked the Aggron off its feet, Porkchop rushed in. "Porkchop, finish it with a barrage of Arm Thrusts!", Dorian called out to the beast. While such a move would be considered crazy, considering that Aggron was another Steel-type, Dorian had his reasons for doing so. For one thing, Aggron were partially Rock-types, thus canceling out any weakness to fire. However, this came at the price of exasperating their weakness to Fighting-type attacks. Then there was the matter of the Aggron potentially having Sturdy as an Ability, even if the Golett's assault would've taken care of that.

The Emboar smashed his "palm" into the Aggron five times in total, each strike causing the Aggron to cry out in pain, and leaving painful looking marks into its body, before it would finally succumb to the pain, and fade into the depths of unconsciousness. Dorian grinned to the others, before retrieving most of his Pokemon, save for Flaming Lizzy. Dorian would then go back to collecting the incapacitated Steel-types as quickly as he could.

"Great work!", Dorian called out to the dark-haired woman. "Now, let's head back. Did you want to fly back with me, or do you have your own way back?", he'd ask her.
