Alec gave a slight grimace to Annie who had seemed to have used King's Shield to protect her from the explosion of his Trap spell. However, Alec couldn't say that it wasn't clever. He had taken damage while she had taken none, and in the heat of the moment in times like this, your health in this sort of game was what mattered at times like this. There was also the fact that Selena was still dealing with manofsteel. Alec had decided to make an opening for himself. It was a risk but he had decided to take it.[break][break]

He took his tail, using the same animation he had before. His long whip-like tail quickly shot up towards the tree branch right above him, and he had begun swinging himself, giving him enough momentum to lunge towards the Rogue. with a Devilish Grin, he had used his Freeze Dry Spell to attack him while he was least expecting it. Since this was technically a battle royale, Alec could attack anyone, and he had chosen manofsteel this time around.

The small white orb was shot him, beginning to rapidly freeze him and the area where he stood. He did not know if the Rogue would be able to dodge his attack with his usual trick, but he had to come up with a way to catch either of them off guard, and since he and and the female mage had made a silent truce, he figured why not do more helping? They were both fighting together essentially, or at least for now ... "Figured you wouldn't mind the extra help since he's been attacking you for a while now." Alec had said to selenatheteenagewitch. [break][break]

If manofsteel did in fact dodge the attack, then perhaps it would give the female mage a chance to attack with her Psychic powers. Alec had a feeling he had dodged her Psychic attack the last for a reason, and that reason was because he was weak to that type of attack. Alec had already confirmed that Annie was weak to his Ice Attacks, which made the battle a little easier for him.

The girl was young, but life had already thrown her more than her fair share of lessons. Persevere, even when it seemed stubborn to. Hold hope in your heart, and an opportunity will present itself. Stop pissing off Zigzagoon in dark alleys. At least two of those rang true as the smoke cleared, and she saw her two targets mere feet away from her.

The moment was brief, but she was close and determined to make it count. Her blade shone with a blue light – a repeat of her last attack, with double the targets. Instead of running into them, she commanded her character to rush past, blade set to slice through the pair as she drew their ire towards her… And in the opposite direction of her ally.

If the mages hoped to scare and taunt somebody into submission, they’d have to try again with somebody that hadn’t faced real monsters. A girl that worn the mask of bravery for so long that it had fused with her face wouldn’t slow at the sight of some adults playing pretend. No, she’d rather charge. Recklessly.

“Ultimeeeeeite Slice!” Hers was an obnoxious cry, but that meant it would serve all the better as a distraction. If Alec meant to swing himself into striking the rogue, then she’d see to it that he wouldn’t leave without a farewell gift.

"Remind me to beep you with a friend request later," she gave the demon a smile.

Selena was lucky the other mage gave her a free pass. With the demon attacking the rogue, he could only choose to run or deal more damage to either of the magic wielders. The witch used the opportunity to flick away the rogue's knives again, her wind of energy hovering around the demonic pair as she fend off the TWINEEDLE just as black_heart32 leaped from his position, striking down manofsteal with another of his FREEZE DRY.

However, that did not fare well for Selena, who still got wounded from the warrior's BREAKING SWIPE. The cut was painful nonetheless; she saw her health bar dropped down, but it was still luckily in the orange. Selena suspected she could still endure three or four more strikes from the warrior or the mage where the rogue will only need two.

If she's still looking for a win, she needed to change her strategy.

SELENA's current stats: HP (D), ATTACK (D), DEFENSE (D), SP. ATTACK (+02), SP. DEFENSE (+02), SPEED (D).

SELENA dodges TWINEEDLE.

He dodges out of the way, pleased to see that Ultimeite has struck them both with her attack in their attempt to taunt and toy with their targets. Good. This isn't about bravery, for Gavin. It's about strategy. They could mock him all they wanted.[break][break]

The burn sees his health bar flash as it empties further. Not much time left, now. He gives the warrior a sharp nod.

Alec had two options. One: Attack Gavin again and attempt to kill him, or strike Annie and take her hit. Judging by his health bar, he could afford at least one more hit. Either way, he would have gotten hit anyways. Alec had made his decision as Annie had gotten closer. Alec fired a Freeze Dry just as the blade struck him, giving him another ATK debuff. The area having frozen rapidly right next him and the Samurai. [break][break]

He had then gave nod, not forgetting what selenatheteenagewitch had said to him. She too was unfortunately struck by the same attack. Alec had slightly felt bad, however he believed that what he had tried to do would be something beneficial to their temporary team up. Alec didn't intentionally have it set up that way, but if they were gonna fight each other once manofsteel was killed. Alec had a grin on his face as he licked his lips with excitement. He had still had some gas in the tank despite being below half of his health now. as for his Stacked Debuffs, his ATK. Stat didn't matter all too much since his attacks were based on his SP ATK Stat. Another rough hit introduced shades of red to her health bar. She’d ignored it thus far, but the tinted edges of her vision and the throbbing of her controllers made it hard to ignore. It didn’t matter, she told herself. She could either die trying to take down a mage in that moment, or die getting tag-teamed by them when her ally was out of the picture.

She preferred the option where she had a chance.

The samurai stayed stalwart in spite of the pain, intent on giving her target no option but to focus on her. For Alec, she had another gift: a boulder dislodged from the earth. It was an oversized baseball, and her sword was the bat, lobbing it over to him.

With none of her natural predators ganging up on her, Selena took the moment to fire her gun once more.

"Hey rogue. A parting gift."

She clicked her tongue as her aura swirled and twirled to form a massive ball of PSYCHIC energy above her. It flared up once more, her boosts from the TWO CALM MIND doing its work, and the witch hurled her attack to manofsteal's direction.

It's directed at Selena as she elects to project her attack before sending it: a mistake. Yet rather than dodging it as he had been, Gavin uses his last breaths as an opportunity to send a parting gift of his own: a twineedle thrown directly at the demon mage.[break][break]

He's never been killed by a psychic attack before, so he braces himself in anticipation of the pain. It's like the dull pulse of a headache and then his screen turns black, informing him of his demise as if he couldn't figure it out for himself.[break][break]

Respawning in Valora, the last place he'd saved as his home zone, he sends a friend request to Ultimeite with a message: 'did what i could gl'[break][break]

Alec had a maniacal grin on his face. He could feel the climax of their battle reaching it's end, or at least, that's how he felt. He had decided to take the hit from Annie's Smack Down, trying to get close to her, or at least keep her eyes of his tail for a moment. Just as he skidded back from the attack, making sure that his clawed-like feet piercing through the ground, making sure he didn't go too far. As as soon as he had stopped, he yanked Annie quickly towards him, catching her off guard completely, while at the same time, Alec had heard the rushing footsteps of the Rogue potentially rashing at him to end him. Alec had smirked, and said before firing off his last Freeze Dry spell, "At least we'll die at the same time," and with that, the spell had shot the female samurai just moments before she had got closer.[break][break]

Alec had hoped that this suicide attempt in having all three of them die at once would work. Honestly, he had no intention of losing. He also wanted to fight the female mage, however, that would have to come at a different time. If anything, he figured she should be the victor of this battle. Besides, with his health bar in the current shape it was, versus the woman's he wouldn't last long. In the end, he would have his glory moment by him dying with Annie and Patrick at the same time.[break][break]

She looked to the rogue as his body hit the ground, defeated. It didn’t take a genius to know that she’d be joining him within seconds… But she wouldn’t go down without a struggle. Her and Alec seemed to be of one mind in that regard; any mage knew that running towards a warrior was suicide, but that didn’t matter much if you were on your way out anyway. She respected the last charge – mostly because it didn’t leave her much of a choice.

She rushed in too, sword at the ready for one last attack. He threw her forward, but her sword remained out, brushing against the man as gravity took hold of her. Ice met skin, sword met flesh, and both parties realised that the game cared little for partial hits. As long as the hitboxes met, a touch dealt as much damage as a blade through the body.

And so Ultimeite met her end, the trip merely helping her on what was bound to be a final fall. A taste of death’s icy grasp hit Annie before her screen turned black, rubbing in her failure. Respawning in another kingdom, Annie took a deep breath, accepted the friend request, and set off in search of the next challenge.

Selena's all alone now. Her enemies slain, loots on the floor, the ominous air of Spectra still looming in the background. But she's not happy.

"What the ||||| just happened?"

The game put an effort to conceal the swear words she uttered from her comm, placing a bad word counter she could see floating in her screen before flicking it off. Selena's the victor of the battle royale, but she only killed one.

Taking a deep breath, she went over the slain bodies of her enemies and claimed her rewards. Selena logged into her system configuration to confirm her loots, placed them in the inventory, and ended the PVP mode. Swiping up at the menu, she got to the names of the other three players, manofsteal, black_heart32, and ultimeite, typed in the message log before hitting the send button: "good game u 3! rematch nxt time. ciao!"
