the training dummies bored her. players in the PK regions wanted to kill her on sight because of one, particular idiot. gaining exp seemed like a chore now, especially with how hard it was to traverse the lands inside the game without heading into particular areas. nevertheless, katherine was far from giving up. no. she was too proud and stubborn to let this be the end of her character's journey. in her mind, katastrophic was fated to become the strongest mage in the server - and hey - fate is fate. you don't argue against it.

and so, as she traveled through the chilly, snowy region of nixtorm kingdom, the pinkette paid attention to her surroundings. to see if she might come across a particular mob she'd care to farm.

it's not that katherine didn't expect an ice type mob, because she did, but... she hoped for something far more impressive. a mob that might even get her low and force her to retreat, maybe. something along those lines. it was always more fun when risk was involved. always. nonetheless, experience was experience. the fact it came from a more boring mob didn't matter.

the pink-haired mage pushed herself in the direction of the sneasel, preparing herself for its own attack. she spun and danced near the ice-type, allowing flames to emit from her avatar and clash against its poor body. never once did kat stop, not even when she saw its hp bar go down. in response, the sneasel attempted to use taunt-- a lackluster idea considering where the fight was heading, but... it was a simple npc, after all. it's not like it knew better.

it took her a couple more spins but before long, the sneasel faded into nothing when its hp bar reached zero. success.

"boring. they need to code these mobs better." she continued to look for another.

it appears that katherine was too lazy to crouch down and retrieve her loot. instead, her hand sways as a violet light exudes from her avatar, PSYCHIC being used to manipulate both the metal coat and the glacial shard to reach her, causing them to float in air. it was easier that way, wasn't it?

"let's see what other mobs this area has to offer..." eager to continue and not log off at this time, kat did just that. she pressed on. with a narrowed gaze she searched for a different mob than the sneasel type she encountered moments ago. and eventually, her wish was fulfilled. the mage came across a piloswine, a much larger and tougher looking mob. perhaps this one will offer a more interesting fight as well?

she sneaked behind it, channeling magical energy to her wand as a storm brewed above. soon enough, before the mob grew aggressive, a large icicle dropped from above - causing the mob to flinch. instead of preparing an attack of itself, it stood there, frozen in place. it set her next move quite well, as the mage continued to employ her tactic from her previous fight.

kat danced and spun in place as flames shot from her direction, all directed at the poor, defenseless pilowswine. it was doomed to lose, and not just because of the RNG invovled.

one last mob. all she needed to level up was a single more mob. then she'd be able to log off for the night.

the fact she was so eager to stop playing didn't mean she wasn't enjoying the game. no, the opposite if anything. katherine was dedicated to leveling up because she enjoyed blade & bulwarks so much. it's just that the grinding aspect of MMO games never appealed to her. instead, she saw it as a necessary road she had to go through. experience wasn't something she could ignore after all. the goal was always to fight other players-- but that came later!

"who's left, who's left..." eventually, that question is answered by an approaching jynx. this time, the mage did not attack first. this mob appeared to be stronger, thus, it did not need a player to attack first. it could attack on its own accord.

and the jynx did exactly that. nearing kat, she smacked her across the cheek-- slapping the mage with all of her might! "what the fuck?" blinking, the pinkette appeared to be quite astonished the mob used such a move. "for real?" kat shook her head, the temperature around her beginning to rise as the snow that surrounded her melted as well. the wand was held firmly as magical energy was channeled into it, flames flying everywhere as the mage danced around the mob - evading its next slap gracefully.

it caught on fire, eventually. and just before it attempted to slap kat for the third time, its hp bar was lowered to zero, causing it to fade away.
