Santa Bird was definitely not what he was expecting, but it offered a greater challenge.

"Guess I can't really complain," he says with a sneer as he considers dashing forward, but reconsiders. Play to your strengths. Taking aim at the bird he readies one of his empowered abilities.

An ardent glow overtakes the arrowhead as he locks on the target, loosing with a shrill shriek akin to a bird as it fired forth. The attack soared forward with improved speed, making its mark in no time at all. The Delibird would howl in duress...

Another pair of arrows follow-up the attack, while the first reads a status effect has been ignored/negated. I'll figure it out someday...

Just not this day, evidently. Or this hour anyhow.



The Delibird's own attack came in the form of a present. As it so happened, this presented Adrian with an opportunity. As the present sailed forward in relative to his own shot, his skills of deduction came into play: ...Nah, I'm not swapping rolls.



After watching his arrows find their target, Adrian was met with a rather anticlimactic explosion. His combat outlook was far from bleak. He'd succeeded in this round, and those that followed. Victory.

As Adrian pilfered the Delibird's corpse for loot, a Cryogonal shifted over towards him; perhaps allured by the presence of the three Glacial Shards now placed in his inventory. Cryogonal made a face at him, like it was exerting some strange power.



"..."

...That cheeky $!#$

He immediately starts fettering it with arrows, firing incessantly at the snowflake effigy. It's not very effective. But what else is there? While he executes basic attack after attack, the spawn begins channeling sunlight through its facetious form, refracting starlight into a concentrated ray...

...Oh shit!

Adrian enters phantom form just in time as a SOLAR BEAM sears the air he was just occupying. It feels disorienting to watch the brilliant burst of light from the shadows, but it quickly dissipates, allowing him to focus on his shot while the Cryogonal idles without an active target.

When he appears again its behind an arrow blazing a trail of miasma towards the target, striking it with devastating force that causes fractures to ripple through the target in a spiderweb effect.

And then it burst into pixels, loot popping out.

The last enemy came lumbering from the treeline, bellowing enough that he could feel the air shuddering at its call. Turning an arrow at it, Adrian had to forego looting for the moment. A slew of shots pelted the Abamasnow, but it spared little time reeling from the wounds before charging.

Invoking MIRROR MOVE, Adrian parried it blow for blow as a WOOD HAMMER came crashing down. Abamasnow poised itself to overwhelm him, attempting to drive him into the ground.

But he won out.

Eviscerating its arm as he countered, Adrian leaps at the pokemon and catapults himself off of it, performing a back flip sneak attack before landing behind it by a considerable distance. RUUAGH!

Fading into the shadows he'd stalk it in its outrage, lining up his final shot as the brute flailed around in a futile effort to find him. As his form became corporeal, an arrow flew true and made its mark in the beast's forehead, scattering pixels to the wind.

With that finished he was able to finish looting the creatures, wrapping up this particular excursion.
