Much as he adored his glittering Corviknight, there was something to be said about the ability to fly in broad daylight without shielding his eyes from the sun glancing off its silvered metal wings. Aerodactyl's powerful wings cast sharp-edged shadows along the silhouette of Rusturf Tunnel as they swoop low in preparation to land.[break][break]

The prehistoric beast makes a weighted landing, claws sinking deep into soft earth as Gavin dismounts and offers a curt nod to the Rocket operative asked to meet him here. Normally, he preferred to work in solitude when it came to a hunt, but this task required as many eyes and hands as they could spare.[break][break]

"It doesn't matter what model of Porygon we find, only that we secure it in good condition."[break][break]

He sends out his Lucario, whose fighting-type attacks and resistance to normal-type attacks would no doubt prove useful on such a mission.[break][break]

"What's your name?"[break][break]

He's already turned his attention to their surroundings in search of the synthetic Pokemon; perhaps a bit rude, but this was an important task.

Red locks shimmered against the daylight's raise as she awaited the arrival of the Underboss who was to see to this mission along with Nova. It would be one of her first times interacting with someone of a higher caste than herself since her introduction to the shady organization. Nova wanted more than anything to make a good first impression. [break][break]

The sight of an Aerodactyl alerted Nova to the man's presence. The young lady bowed her head slightly as he dismounted his Pokemon. "I'll do my best to find what's needed," She quietly replied, acknowledging Gavin's request. [break][break]

But her composed expression was quickly broken. Nova appeared a little surprised at his next question. She wasn't expecting him to care about her name. "Nova, Nova Collins." The redhead responded. "I'm a newer recruit." [break][break]

Two of her Pokemon, both of Dragon-type, stirred behind her. Drayco and Trent, her Dragonite and Gabite, eyed the man curiously. [break][break]

"Alright, let's get searching you two. You heard his orders." She spoke. The Dragonite spread its wings and began to fly forward. The land-shark kept close to Nova as she began to walk.

Where Gavin is aloof and guarded, the grunt wears her emotions plain as day. Nervous, eager to please, surprised by the slightest show of interest.[break][break]

A Lillipup erupts from the undergrowth in pursuit of a windblown leaf, while a Mr. Mime does its best to copy the movements of the trainers. An unsettling species, albeit less-so than its Galarian counterpart.[break][break]

"You're free to capture any additional Pokemon, of course." He does not reach for any of the empty capsules in his bag. These two are of no interest to him. "I expect we'll see plenty."[break][break]

Porygon were synthetic and thus relatively rare in the wild, from his experience.

The Gabite pays little mind to the Pokemon that pass by, only letting out a curt growl to the Mr. Mime to move past as the group walks forward. Nova nods at Gavin's words however she too finds little interest in the nearest Pokemon. [break][break]

"Hopefully this hunt will be a successful one." She comments in passing, giving her Gabite an acknowledging pat on its snout. "I'd expect Porygon to be quite elusive." [break][break]

They continue forward, eyes peeled for anything of importance.

"They're synthetic, and thus uncommon in the wild. I've heard they're drawn to certain areas of Hoenn when released, this being one of them, but I've been unable to confirm as much from my own searching."[break][break]

Though the Trumbeak does not trouble him, his Aerodactyl lets out an ear-splitting screech to dissuade a Linoone's approach.

"Synthetic... The thought of a man-made Pokemon is just so bizzare," [break][break]

She contemplates briefly before shaking her head to rid herself of the thought. It reminded her of what priam conrad had told her a while back, about the strange Pokemon Rocket had modified to become physically stronger. But in doing so, as far as Nova was conerened, they lost a part of their true soul too. [break][break]

Crimson eyes gaze at Gavin briefly before focusing on the path ahead. No, it was just too risky to even mention it. A grunt like her shouldn't have knowledge of Shadow Pokemon. She wanted that idea to stay that way.

He averts his gaze from the hypnotic stare of a Malamar, and it lands on a familiar shape half-concealed in the brush.[break][break]

"An Eevee. They're quite rare." An empty pokeball rests in his grip, but he gestures to it and looks at Nova. "It's yours, if you want it, but we ought to snag it either way. They fetch a good price on the market."[break][break]

Malamar shrieks as his Lucario attacks with a series of DRAINING PUNCHES, driving it off. It had been strange to see one away from the ocean, and no doubt it was regretting its adventure.

Nova eyed the evolutionary fox with fascinated eyes. It had been so long since she'd seen an Eevee-- and never once in the wild. She broke a smile when Gavin offered for her to catch it. [break][break]

Her gaze averted to the Eevee as it approached. It was curious and relatively friendly. She knelt down and offered it a pat on its head. Her superior was right-- with the Pokemon's rarity, it would surely fetch a pretty penny on the black market. But internally, Nova wasn't sure if she could do that to an innocent Pokemon. [break][break]

"You're making this awfully easy for me," The girl quietly chuckles to the mon. She reached to her belt for an empty Pokeball and taps it on the creature's head to capture it. [break][break]

Once the task is done, Nova gets up and continues on the path.

A hideous creature of rock and matted fur bursts forth from quaking earth that causes Gavin to lose his footing. He rolls out of the way of a mud shot, stumbling back to his feet.[break][break]

Fortunately, his Pokemon are quick to his defense. Aerodactyl's WIDE GUARD nulls the threat of the quake, and his Lucario hurls an AURA SPHERE at the Diggersby. As the rabbit makes to retaliate, Lucario's EXTREMESPEED allows it to get in close for the finishing blow.

When the trembling of the earth has subsided, sharp amber eyes find the recruit. He hadn't seen how she'd made out in the chaos.[break][break]

From above, her Dragonite could spot the gaudy bunny. It senses danger and swiftly swoops down, using both of its arms to grab ahold of Nova and the Gabite. As the quake subsides, he places both Trainer and Pokemon down, all parties unharmed. A Chingling passes by but makes no attempt to aggravate the group.[break][break]

"Y-Yeah, fine here!" Nova called out, her expression a little shaken. [break][break]

It was clear that this trek might be one full of a few dangers or two, but a task was a task. She hadn't any intention of giving up. Nova managed to crack a smile and then nodded, stepping forward to continue the trek.
