[attr="class","hearmenand2"]Sunset blankets the room in a fading titian hue, a ruddy beam of light split in twain, sifting through the gaps of the shutters over his window as Adrian reclined against the arm of the ivory love seat of his condo. A hand raised reproachfully towards the god rays, diverting the brilliance from his eyes as he kicked his legs up over the other side of the couch.
Relative silence (aside from his malcontent shimmying against the couch) fell over the room, though the muffled sound of traffic could be overheard, dulled by the wall of glass that overlooked Slateport. Hmm. Maybe I should head out to eat... Adrian looked expectantly towards his feet, but they didn't so much as shift from his efforts. ...Nah. Plucking a phone from his pocket, Adrian began tapping and swiping leisurely rummaging through the web to find anything that intrigued him. A headline about Littleroot was quickly swiped away and ignored.
I wonder if she wants anything... Amber orbs flickered over to a corridor that led away from the living room, lying out of sight. Instead of pursuing it any further, he laid the phone against his chest, turning to the side and reaching for the paraphernalia lying scattered across the coffee table just ahead of him. The sound of flint striking, the trickle of ignited gas followed by the gurgle of water could be heard, shortly followed after by a prolonged breath and the threat of a coughing fit as his breathing hitched.
For a moment, he was content enough to bask in the setting sun's rays, forgetting his original task. When he finally remembered his phone, he flicked over to a media tab, playing something from off of Youtube he'd seen a dozen times.
[attr="class","hearrmenand2"]Thumping bass could be heard the closer you got to her room, but luckily for everyone else the sounds were muffled. She had her "Adi" or Adrian to thank for that she guessed. He seemed to be doing extremely well for himself so she wasn't surprised if his fancy crib had sound proof walls.
Once inside her room fancy guitar rifts and emotional lyrics rang out while she worked. The room was pitch black safe for the glowing red lights around the areas where she was developing her photos. "Break a heart like an eggshell. Cardiac arrest or heart attack..." Piper mumble-sang the lyrics to the song she was listening to before taking a long drag from her cigarette and hanging up another photo. She'd been working for a while now and was almost done. The only thing left for her to do would be to wait for the pictures to finish developing. Adrian should like how they came out. She promised him physical copies so here she was, toughin' it out the old school way.
As soon as the final picture was strung up, Piper stepped back to admire her work. Once she deemed it was good she took another drag from her cigarette till her stomach started to grumble. Piper frowned as she pulled a crop tank top on and some jeans so that she could be "presentable" in front of her cousin. Couldn't just roam around the house in her underwear. As she exited her room she could hear Adi laughing about something or the other from the living room. Good, now she could bug him about grabbing food.
Today was a lazy day for sure. No missions, no work, other than the pictures she developed, no responsibilities. Normally Piper would feel a little antsy on days like this. But it had been a bit since she really did chill and enjoy normal life instead of the grind. So she decided she would take advantage of taking it easy. Plus she was sure to get doped up soon anyway so the stress would leave her brain one way or the other. The blonde made her way behind the back of the love-seat before taking another drag from her cigarette and blowing the smoke in her cousins face.
"What's so funny?" She muttered as amber eyes glazed over Adrian before eyeing the substance of her soon-to-be- trip. Piper made her way over to the item and sat on the floor. She grabbed the lighter and put it to the glass tube. Water bubbled and then Piper inhaled deeply. Her chest burned as she continued to hold the smoke in. Only when her lungs began to tingle from the lack of oxygen did she release, smoke pouring from her nostrils and lips. Catching a glimpse of herself in the reflection of the TV screen she chuckled, thinking she looked awfully like a Charizard breathing fire.
Glancing back over to her cousin she leaned against the seat her cousin was reclined on. "Adi I'm starving." She whined as she brought her cigarette to her mouth once more. "What's the plan?" she asked, her voice muffled as she spoke while still holding the smoke back before releasing it and passing the cigarette to Adrian.
[attr="class","hearmenand2"]"Just some youtube channel I like to watch," he managed in response after a notable delay. Adrian being the sort to daze out once afflicted so, he hadn't quite noticed Piper entering the room until she prompted him with the bong he'd abandoned on the floor. He considered for a moment before snatching it from her as expected, lighting it once more. His head throbbed with whelming euphoria.
"Yeah, yeah," he said in a mocking tone meant to chaff Piper. "Why don't you pick somethin'? I don't know what I'm hungry for yet..." He turned his attention back to the phone, pausing it quickly so that the undertones didn't distort their conversation. Rolling onto his side to face Piper, he managed to ask: "How're those photos going, Pipes? You've been locked away for awhile..."
Adrian didn't know what she'd been doing in there. Somehow he imagined her doctoring it up on a computer screen, but he'd never seen for himself. Piper's room was a mystery to him; he'd only ever used the spare room rarely and left it mostly barren except for an old bed and nightstand. Since she'd moved in, there were sure to have been some adjustments.
