[attr="class","witness"]Though usually she'd have her lycanrocs at her side, Francie's solo this time around as she waits at the beginning of the maze for her next appointment for the maze. Once the blonde male and his alcremie comes into view, Francie's immediately in squeal mode, but manages to bite her lip and keep her cool.

And, exhale. Time to be professional!

"Welcome to the Petalburg City Gym's Maze!"

No matter how many times she's said it recently, her pride never wavers, even if Wizz is tired of writing it... haha.

"Your challenge of the maze is not as easy a feat as you think! You are not allowed to use damaging moves at all, not for any thing, even if they're used in a non-damaging way. Only status moves while in the maze are permitted! In order to finish, you have to take me across the finish line with you. Keep in mind that you do have a time limit, so while you can take your time making it through the maze, don't linger too long or you'll run out of time before you make it to the end!"

Taking a moment to think everything she'd said over, Francie gives an affirmative sort of nod to herself before moving to stand beside Gavin, who she knew as Patrick from the information he'd given.

"Once you cross this line, your time starts. Are you ready?"

bidding the man good luck is pretty well all the conversation that francie means to make. until she catches sight of that cute little alcremie again. it's so precious and francie can tell it adores the attention. like a shy child. wants to be talked to but don't touch.

francie respects that all too well.

"by the way, i think she's adorable. and her coloring is amazing. i'd have an alcremie myself, but, with how busy i am i don't think i'd be able to give it as much attention as i'd like..."

there are bends and twists in the maze, but so far so good. gavin's taking the safe route thus far, although, it sometime proved to be the longer route.

[attr="class","witness"]Francie's eyes widened so deeply when the alcremie offered her a strawberry that one might have thought they'd exit her skull. She took the strawberry from the cutie's grasp and nodded frantically at her.

"Thank you so much, I'm honored."

She was, however, not sure if she was supposed to eat it or cherish it forever. So she just held it in her hand like a derp as they continued forward.

As they linger, a rumble starts around them. Around one of the corners comes an armaldo. He turns and looks toward his trainer and the challenger and gives hum, somewhere beneath his armor, leaving small vibrations of sound through the passage. Without much warning, he raises his long thin claws, then slashes at the walls quickly, before making his way to stand behind Francie.

A stealth rock field is before them now, and must be traversed carefully.

"Welcome to your first challenge, Gavin! Arnold's used stealth rock, and the two of you must carefully make your way through the sharp rocks with your pokemon."

Francie climbs atop her armaldo, sitting on it's shoulders, as it wades through the stealth rock to get her to the other side.

"I'll be waiting!"

[attr="class","witness"]Once Francie and Arnold are on the other side of the challenge, she gives the bug a kiss or four while whispering sweet nothings to him. His buzz is now a happy hum, his armor of a shell vibrating happily as she descends the creature and returns him to his heavy ball.

"Great job you two!"

As they make their way across the challenge, Francie is clapping her hands. The floor begins to lower and she holds her hands out to reassure the two of them.

"Don't worry! This is just state two of the challenge."

The floor descends and as it does, what was once the ground of the tunnel closes up and leaves them in pitch black darkness. The floor settles and Francie gives them much needed information.

"These underground tunnels lead you to the finish line. You're allowed to use your pokemon's status moves to illuminate your path, or any other means your pokemon may have such as ability or natural glow. If you do not have access to any of these methods, you may use a device on your person instead."

[attr="class","witness"]For a moment, and only a moment, Francie thought about reaching down and picking up the alcremie to comfort her. Francie wasn't afraid of the dark, but only because dark caves were somewhere she liked to put herself so she could think. Nothing but her and her thoughts, which were usually decently constructive by the end of a meditative state.

Yes, Francie meditates. How else would she keep so chipper??

"I understand. The dark isn't any fun. But! We're getting so close, I'm sure we'll be out of here in no time, cutie."

She speaks to the alcremie, but due to the fact that it's dark it might have been misunderstood... oh well, Francie doesn't realize her mistake and moves on with Gavin through the darkness.

[attr="class","witness"]As Gavin had turned like he wasn't going to press the button, Francie found herself having to physically bite her lower lip in an attempt not to say anything or stop Gavin from not pushing forward. But then, he finds the man-made button, presses it, and the gym comes into view.

Francie, much like the alcremie, is all to excited to move forward into the gym. With her glee, she makes her way to the case containing the Stone Badges, scans her retina to unlock the case, and removes one of the badges. Turning toward Gavin, she holds out the badge with a fond smile.

"Cool an collected for sure. You did great, Patrick. I'm proud of you and your alcremie, who mastered her fear over darkness like a boss."

She's sure to give the alcremie a cute wink before looking back to Gavin.

"Congratulations to you both on claiming your Stone Badge."
