Wings of darkness enclose the two like a soft exhale. Emma looks up in time to grab hold of the Noivern's talons as the Pokemon reaches for her. With one arm coiled tight around Cait's form, pressing her firmly against her own -- they rise with powerful wing beats. The woman is able to readjust Cait with the help of Noivern's patience and shifting of weight. Soon enough, the pair are nestled between the beasts shoulders, Emma's arms caging the other woman in.[break][break]

And as for Zoroark and Celebi?[break][break]

The psychic-types woeful attempts to be freed are ineffective against the shadowfied Pokemon itself. Mephisto cackles, his voice dark with malicious intent. The ILLUSION he traps the legendary Pokemon in is powerful, draining the psychic-type Pokemon's energy with every attempt it makes to be freed. While Emma and Cait are flown to the discreet Rocket base beneath the ocean's surface, Zoroark would return to the base just behind them with the Celebi in his claws.[break][break]

He had explicit instruction to not kill the Pokemon - and he wouldn't. Emma's wrath was greater than his insatiable hunger.[break][break]

"You will be okay, Miss Alfric. It can't follow us up here."[break][break]

Despite the ill intent behind Emma's abduction of the gym leader, her words are gentle and reassuring. She makes no mention of Celebi because she will not lie - they are not okay, and she does not truly know where it is. Mephisto would come through, however.[break][break]

as the cabin was vacated of a majority of it's original inhabitants, a tiny and trembling creature emerged; shaymin. it's glanced about, scenting the potent reek of fear and detecting the absence of its human companion. it wouldn't be the only one to sense aught was amiss, cait's pokemon soon converging upon the cabin; some appearing weary and worn for obvious reasons.

but it was all for naught, the creatures arriving far too late with hypno serving as their lead. the pokemon looked about the cabin, her shoulders drooping and her head bowed as she realized that she had failed - they had all failed.

cait struggled to make sense of her surroundings, her gaze bleary and her mind unable to focus properly. the sharp scent of the sea flooded her nostrils, which caused her to become suddenly bemused.

'why - ?'

surely they hadn't been made to flee toward lilycove? that was some miles out - and there were league-affiliated officials stationed in fortree.

"where... are we?"

she blinked her eyes open and close, a hint of a grimace tugging at her features. there was a small comfort in knowing that celebi was near, the woman detecting their presence at the edge of her mind - though the legend seemed to be just as compromised; as well as confused and weakened.

As Cait stirs in her arms, Emma's grip becomes iron, a dark look in her gaze struggling to melt away, to reassure the woman. Night has fallen and they would not be detected but she absolutely did not have the strength to wrestle her should Cait panic. Instead, she stills her hand to brush the woman's hair from her face, to whisk sweat from the gym leader's brow and look down upon her with concern.[break][break]

It isn't entirely for show.[break][break]

"We have to go somewhere safe, somewhere hidden. The monster found us on the way to Lilycove, we had to go somewhere else."[break][break]

Also not entirely a lie.[break][break]

They're crossing the sea, now, the smell of salt-water is potent. The shadow Zoroark has reached the edge of the water and manages to keep up. He uses the expert handling of Emma's Dewgong and Walrein to surf along the surface. She can feel the taint of the Pokemon's presence nearby, and she can see the subtle flashing light of the submarine not far ahead.[break][break]

Emma curls the woman tighter to her form as they descend. Upon entry they would be expertly teleported inside, caught by whatever Pokemon might be waiting for her arrival. [break][break]

"It will be okay."[break][break]

she fell quiet after parroting this, her eyes sliding shut as she relied upon emma to serve as her metaphorical anchor. there was little choice left but to, the woman far too addled to take care of herself properly. and surely celebi would be well; the legend more than capable of defending themselves.

"what's... your name again?"

cait's ability to recall had been hampered, a look of concentration tugging at her heavily freckled features. she leveled her gaze upon the woman, her vision blurred at the edges and in-betweens, like a camera struggling to focus. she sensed the change of environment - the shifting of their bodies - but she didn't bother focusing upon it.

Despite the circumstances, Emma finds herself drawn to protect the woman in her arms. That much is effectively translated in the way her arms coil around her tighter, her cheek pressing against the woman's green hair. She repeats her promise, the white lie. But was it a lie? Rocket was no longer controlled by the iron, bloodied fist of Silas Blackwell. They were different - that had different, less violent, less anger-driven values.[break][break]

Whatever Walsh wanted her for, whatever Cadis had originally had planned before his sudden illness, it had to be important. And they wouldn't harm someone so important. Probably.[break][break]

Cait shifts in her arms and Emma reluctantly releases her tight hold enough to allow the woman to gaze upon her. The woman's eyes are bleary and unfocused, struggling to comprehend the situation and the face that swims in front of her. Emma's cold yellow eyes soften despite her attempts to remain indifferent. Like a curious wild dog, she lowers her hackles and steps closer.[break][break]

"Emma. My name is Emma."[break][break]

And then they descend, Noivern's fall is silent as her wings fold around her to plummet. In a brief flash of psychic energy, they are teleported inside the submarine where she is able to tug Cait from the back of Eris. The Noivern is eager to be released and she is soon teleported back outside where her flight falters with the sudden jolts. [break][break]

Once inside, they are met with agents who have been assigned to handle Cait's integration. In one fell swoop she slips through her fingers and there is a pit in her stomach because a thought bubbles to her surface.[break][break]

AFTER EXPERIMENTATION, the effects of the nihilego toxin on cait alfric are unexpected. Unplanned. Various Rocket Scientists (NPCS) find that the lady has become less benevolent and that her avatar powers have shifted due to the influence of the poison. Walsh did not expect this sudden turn of events and did not necessarily desire it, but the information gleamed is documented regardless.[break][break]

the following adjustments to cait alfric's powers are as follows:

cait possesses the ability of healing, able to cause living things to grow, heal, but can not purify anymore. she would find that when she grows or heals, the energy used feels malicious. plants grow thorns, and hues darken dramatically.
cait's negative habits or personality traits become more exacerbated. furthermore, she would be drawn to instinct and find comfort in order and leadership to direct her decisions, for her mental faculties are affected by the poison.
