Eva was paying no mind to the car or whatever the job it was they were supposed to be doing and instead was staring down at the Pokémon Dominic had brought, wondering where the hell he got it. But his attempt at getting the Pokémon to do damage to the car reminded her what they were here for.

”Oh right…..this.” She groaned, looking over to her Metagross.

”Go destroy that piece of shit over there.” Eva said, waving her hand dismissively in the direction of the car.

The Metagross, just having watched the Kubfu lifts one of its heavy legs and smashed it down upon the car as if it was showing the other Pokémon how to do really make a dent in it.

the kubfu watches the metagross smash down on the car, its brows furrowed in thought. it looks pretty impressed and only a little jealous of the metagross's overall size.

the kubfu inhales sharply, BULKS UP, and then cries out as it lashes out with several quick kicks in succession.

"i think they're doing great," dominic says, with little conviction.

”Yeah sure they’re doing wonderfully.” She was not paying attention.

”Where’d you manage to get that Pokémon?” That was much more important than any car demolishing.

Having watched the Kubfu unleash its barrage of attacks Eva’s Metagross figured it would have to follow suit and used BULLET PUNCH striking the wrecked vehicle multiple times with a speed that looked unnatural for a Pokémon of its size and stature.

dominic's interest had gravitated toward the metagross when it began throttling the husk of a car with an uncanny speed.

"huh?" he said, blinking at eva for a moment, as if trying to understand her interest in the little ursine pokemon.

"got it from a dude at the top of that tower. its dad beat the shit out of maeda and conrad's pokemon." it's not helpful and he doesn't know how to clarify for her.

She had no idea how to respond to “dude at the top of that tower” and had so many questions but didn’t think she was going to get any that would satisfy her so for the time being she’d just keep the bombardment of questions away.

”So does that mean those two have one as well or just you?” She’d ask, watching the two Pokémon and wondering why her Metagross got so caught up in destroying a broken down piece of junk.

"did you know the kid is friends with the league head scientist?"

in the background, the kubfu begins to scream as it pummels the car in CLOSE COMBAT.

”Huh.” Was all that Eva responded with at that piece of information Dominic just gave her. The kid sure was personable but she wouldn’t have imagined that he knew someone like that.

”Well I’ll be damned, kid's full of surprises.” Honestly she didn’t think much of the league’s scientists but this was good to know.

”What’s you take on him?”

While the Kubfu was screaming and using close combat Eva’s Metagross was now using METEOR MASH and if the car were a person it’d be mush right now.

dominic had to think about how to reply to the question posed to him. his time with lane had been limited, but it did put them through some trials. and if he couldn't pull his weight they wouldn't have made it to the top.

dominic raises a single shoulder in a shrug.

"he seemed alright. a bit lonely?"

he freezes, momentarily horrified. is that why priam had corralled them all together? his collection of sad, older men?

dominic glares at the car to try to not think about it. under the beating enacted on it by the metagross and kubfu, it's not like the twisted bits of metal resemble a 'car' any more.

”Yeah that checks out.” Eva replied. Her knowledge of the man was second hand and it didn’t really paint that much of a pretty picture for him so to Eva, Lucas Lane was another scientist weirdo working for the league.

There were also some rumors about him and rocks but she didn’t want to think about that.

The sounds of car demolition had stopped which made Eva look over to the two Pokémon.

”Oh good they’re done. Let's get out of her.” And now they could get out of her, right after they got compensated of course.
