the town had been quiet for a while now, that was until the sounds of a struggle echoed through the little hamlet. lights turned on as people looked out their windows and saw a gang of people running away from some costumed figure who was giving chase to them spouting some hefty words. "ya criminals better not even show your mugs back here alright? this town's under pokkenger protection ya got it?!" of course all of hoenn was under his protection but some people didn't get the message. so the perfect way to get it across? sic a pokemon on them.

removing a ball from his belt the masked hero sent out his lycanroc to give chase to the fleeing gang and was quick to catch up with one of them by jumping on his back. that poor guy was in for a rude shock and was very adamant about it as he kept screaming for the dog to not bite his face off or something, luckily hachiko was well trained in the art of sitting his butt down on people's face to make them shut up. "nice work hachiko! now we better round up the rest of them before they get too far." the superhero complimented his pokemon on a job well done and gave him a rub on the head, unknown to him was the look of people peeking out of their homes to see all the commotion was about.[break][break]

[attr="class","witness"]Guard duty couldn't have been in a less interesting town if the office had tried. Nothing interesting ever happened in Oldale Town and because of that, Abner had nearly fallen asleep... but then something came through his radio that had him opening his eyes, and Bre, his umbreon, twitched in her sleep as she heard the radio crackle as well.

Apparently there was some idiot running around town beating the shit out of people and calling himself a hero. Sweet, Abner'd been bored anyway.

Without much hesitation, he and his umbreon made their way toward the disturbance. Releasing his noctowl, she flew up into the sky to keep her eyes open on the ground beneath her, and before her trainer, and would alert the umbreon of anything if she felt that Abner would be in danger.

Now, Abner didn't run, which is why the 'hero' had gotten finished beating the thugs before he got there. As he approached, he raised his eyebrows.

"Oh shit... I thought they were kidding about the suit. Who're you, the Great Saiyaman?"

While Abner made jokes and adjusted his police uniform's hat on his head, his umbreon stood at the ready, just in case that lycanroc decided to try something stupid.

[break]the the lycanroc enjoyed the attention it was getting from its trainer, a reward for showing that it managed to show that all of that training was not lost on it. that joy would soon be cut short as the scent of a pokemon approaching them reached his nose and the sight of the golden rings of an umbreon came into his vision. the dog slid from under his trainer's hand and held its chest up high and let out low growl to show that it wasn't one to back down from a stranger approaching it. the pokkenger felt the same way but showed it in a more relaxed fashion than his trusty canine friend as he straighten himself up and recognized the uniform of a police officer approaching them.

the comment about the legendary character of great sayainman made kazimir smile underneath his mask. it was good to know that someone was a man of culture. for that he gave the officer a usual salute to him.

"oh how i wish i was like great sayainman officer! the streets of hoenn would be much safer if i could at least fly." when the thug that they had captured noticed the masked man and his dog have their attention turned elsewhere he quietly tried to crawl away. only to be stopped in his tracks as the lycanroc quickly snapped his head towards him and barked, getting a whimper out of the poor man as he froze in place. "as you can see i've driven away some nasty guys that were harrassing the people of this town and managed to catch one of them before he could flee. no need for thanks, just go ahead and lock them up if you don't mind!"[break][break]

Boy-o? Abner made a face at himself and made a mental note never to say that again to anybody ever. And to stop watching BBC shows for a little while.

"So anyway, if you could come quietly that'd be fantastic. I mean, I understand if you've gotta put up a fight for your image and whatever, but uh, you've gotta put yourself in the same bracket as the people you assaulted."

And cue his big brain moment, as his alakazam appeared, with more officers behind her. She let her spoons lift out of her hands and put her hands together to form an energy ball, which she knew would be super effective against that lycanroc given the chance.

"What you did wrong? Something like disturbing the peace, but more importantly, you got caught."

If the guy'd been smart enough to get outta dodge before the cops had shown up, then they wouldn't be having this conversation. But Abner had to pretend he cared about the law and all that shit.

Said officers that the alakazam had brought to the situation began taking the fugitives that the Pokkenger had managed to take care of into custody.

[break]the the lycanroc enjoyed the attention it was getting from its trainer, a reward for showing that it managed to show that all of that training was not well he wasn't wrong. getting caught while your running around in a costume trying to dispense justice under the cover of mystery was the biggest way one could royally fuck up and ruin himself in more ways than one. still the pokkenger wasn't that worried, even if he was caught by one guard he could still get away by using his most specialist of techniques.

then more officers started to show up along with another pokemon belonging to the guy that did catch him and was preparing an attack should he even move a muscle. ok that might actually be a problem. "you might have a point about me being a criminal, on a technical level. but officer you hafta understand, evil never takes a break so neither can a hero. let's skedaddle hachi!" the lycanroc was a bit surprised by the sudden order to retreat but looking at their surroundings it wasn't hard to see why. slamming its paws into the ground a cloud of dust and sand was suddenly kicked up by its sand attack and from inside the cloud both masked hero and dog were quick to make their exit out the nearest route out of here.[break][break]

It is often said that revenge is a dish best served cold. Abner was about to prove that. Kick up sand in his face? Easy fix, his keen eye'd noctowl that had been keeping watch in the skys heard his command masked as a cool villain's line and quickly released her hurricane. With an accuracy of seventy or less, and this not being a battle thread, there's no point to roll. Let's just have fun with it, yeah?

If it hit, cool. If it didn't, Abner had a fix. He quickly looked to Zam and nodded, letting Zam send the energy ball she'd prepared as well. A snap of Abner's fingers and the umbreon at his side rushed over to Zam, only for Zam to then teleport the umbreon in front of the masked man and his lycanroc, giving a mean look.

"Escape that, hero."

as the pair made their escape a sudden burst of wind was suddenly pushing them back and stopping them dead in their tracks. it didn't take long to notice the source was a noctowl that was keen on making sure the vigilante and his partner didn't get away so easily, too bad for it that hachiko wasn't against using force to make sure that they could get away and jumped at the bird with every bit of strength her legs could carry him with.

too bad for the lycanroc that there was nothing it could do against an energy ball that suddenly sailed right into his face and knocked him into the ground unconscious with a dazed look on his face. "hachiko!" was all the pokkenger could cry out before the kadabra was suddenly in front of him giving him one hell of a look. for a second it looked like a mirage of an even scarier demon crawling up from behind the pokemon was enough to send even the brave hero into a state of shock that paralyzed him with fear, and with a thud he hit the ground alongside his lycanroc unable to really move. was this how pokkenger's story end?![break][break]

Abner walked over to the unconscious man, looking him over with a curious brow raised. It didn't take much effort to return his pokemon team to their pokeballs. The officers helped in escorting the vigilante to a jail cell.[break][break]

The amount of paperwork that was required was annoying as fuck. Once he was finished with it, he was glaring at the vigilante in the cell. He was put on guard duty out of request. Why? Because maybe he could make this work in his favor.[break][break]

Now, Abner wasn't stupid enough to attempt this sort of move on his own. But, at the same time, if he could stop this idiot for attacking rocket in exchange for an escape from jail, then he'd do so. He'd have to play it decently well though, which meant not giving away the fact that he's a rocket himself while asking for immunity for rocket.[break][break]

Which meant playing victim to rocket while actually being a rocket himself.[break][break]

Lots of confusing circles here but he'd manage. And it would be a situation he didn't solve with his fists! Look at that, character growth, teachin' an old dog new tricks.
