The ship sailed so far out into international waters that even Wingull didn't dare to venture so far.

The crown prince of Hammerlocke had taken this occasion to tan on the large cruise ship's main deck. Wearing nothing more than a pair of black swim shorts and sunglasses, he was content to give the busywork of an ambassador a rest and relax as his Sinistea served him as his own personal waiter. Little did he and his partners know, of course, that the black flag of piracy had been raised nearby.

If it wasn’t for the fact that this was basically forced on because she had been working too much Eva wouldn’t have gone. She’d be in her lab right now working on some other experiment or project she had.

But instead, here she was on some cruise sitting outside in the sun and still working.

She sat a table covered in the shadow of a beach umbrella that had been stuck through the table via a hole in the center as she worked on her laptop. The most interaction she had was the occasional drink that she ordered, finding the fruity drinks rather addicting.

Just as Earl Grey had ferried over a particularly scrumptious looking grapevine, granting Remiel the taste of fruit that he'd desired, the ship was suddenly shaken by the powerful impact of something deep below. It might have been enough to knock Remiel off of his beach chair if he hadn't already seated himself up to eat his grapes.

Confused and a little annoyed, but certainly not in panic, the black-haired royal removed his sunglasses as he turned his head to scrutinize the scene. Some of the wait staff had fallen, dropping their trays of food and drink on the deck. Others went to the edge to try and see what had struck the ship. It was one of these, a young Rocket executive in a two-piece bikini, that actually called out:

"Pirates! They're about to climb the—"

And, just then, she was blasted by a sound wave that struck her head while she had been peering down, rendering her unconscious almost immediately. When her body slumped to the ground, several hooks suddenly lodged themselves to the edge of the railing from below. The pirates were ascending the side of the ship from the rugged-looking Lapras that had ferried them.

While they did so, Remiel sighed and reached beneath his towel for the belt of luxury balls he'd taken off and set there prior. He unclipped one, then got up from his seat as the first of the pirates clambered over the railing with a hyena's smile.

grabbing hold of his phone, he quickly pockets it as his rotom slips out. a THUNDER WAVE crackles across the deck, striking one of the pirates in the knees. he glances around to check on both remiel and eva before he continues. "vega, dragon pulse."

the noivern already has her teeth in the same pirate's shirt; at the sound of her trainer's voice, her head jerks up, tugging roughly at the pirate. she lets go, a swirling DRAGON PULSE gathering at her jaw, before she hurls it at another one of their attackers.

The cruise was under attack and Eva was really contemplating just letting other people take care of it and continue with her work. And there were already people going at it so they didn’t need her right?

Eva took a sip of her drink as she watched the mayhem that ensued and eventually rolled her eyes. It would probably look bad if she did nothing while this happened so she decided to take action, and lazily send out her Hydreigon.

”Hyper Voice at those pirates.” She ordered as she waved her hand in a shooing motion, her eyes still on her laptop.

And following Marcel’s Noivern using Dragon Pulse, the pirates would find a Hyper Voice coming right after.

Meanwhile, on Remiel's end of things, the pirate captain managed to successfully board the vessel with half a dozen of his men. Several of them sent out disheveled and mangy Poochyena. A few went as far as sending out their ravenous Mightyena to join the raid as well. The catering staff ran for their lives below deck, up until anyone remaining above was either Rocket or pirate. Surely a small difference to the League. But to Remiel...

He sighed and tossed his luxury ball into the air, just as a Mightyena made a dash for him. Earl Grey, however, intercepted the incoming Crunch with a Protect. This, in turn, bought enough time for a shiny Gardevoir to emerge from the golden flash of light that the Galarian prince had summoned. "Agnés. Clear these scum away." He commanded flatly, pointing at the captain and his squadron of goons, pups, and rabid wolves.

As she floated forward, gathering a mass of bright pink energy in front of her, the black-haired royal would continue to rummage beneath his towel for a glove he always kept tucked in his back pocket. He turned back to the scene at hand when several of the wolves were blown back by Agnés' Dazzling Gleam, catapulting them overboard into the sea.

Working with all the noise and destruction going on was fine; it didn’t bother Eva, but was a bit strange was that it was happening longer than she had expected it to.

She saved her work and closed her laptop, moving from her seat and to the railing so she could look down to the lower levels.

”Hey are you two down there? There can’t be that more can there?” She knew that there was a sudden surge in pirates but one crew couldn’t actually be consistent of this many members, could it?
