Right, so here's the sitch(pls see kim possible 2002 for that reference wow).[break][break]

Abner was grinning as they entered the club. Somehow he and Marcel had been picked to go on a mission together to gather some information. In reality, Abner would ensure the job got done and Marcel was well protected, due to Abner's unwavering loyalty to rocket. While Marcel was just that good at extracting information and keeping his contacts.[break][break]

Yes, they were a decent mission duo. No, they didn't like each other, and that's pure comedic gold my friend.[break][break]

"Do you think you could pick up some of the girls over there for us?"[break][break]

He'd convinced Marcel to go to a club after they'd secured the information they needed for their visit. Their flight was due to leave in the morning and Abner just wanted to get a drink at a club in Kalos. He'd never been able to go to the clubs while he was in hiding Kalos, only really allowed to go to the backwater market in the tiny town he'd been stationed in. So needless to say, he was pretty hyped.[break][break]

And those girls? They'd been

, and Abner liked the way they giggled and laughed when he'd given a wink and asked Marcel to basically be his booty call translator.

[attr="class","marcelThread"]before he can say no, he sees the woman heading towards them. somehow, marcel can't find it in him to commend their bravery. when he makes eye contact with them over the rim of his glass, he's forced to smile.

before he can think of an excuse to drag the away--like abner would've listened, anyway--they're surrounded. the chatter's a mix of questions and compliments; when one pointedly directs her attention to abner, he's forced to take control of the situation.

"ah, désolé les filles." marcel leans back in his chair, all charm. he slaps abner on the back. "il a une copine."
[break][break]there are a series of disappointed ohs, and marcel prays abner doesn't read into it too much.

while he's gotten their attention off abner, marcel's forgotten to include himself in the equation. his surprise is only visible for a moment. as he brushes off their words as politely as he could, he leans towards abner.

Abner's brows knit in confusion. He realized only after Marcel spoke Kalos to the Kalos women that maybe asking Marcel to speak for him was a bad idea. Marcel tends to put wet blankets and wet toast all over a mood just because he's the wet blanket and toast himself.[break][break]

"....they're not fuckin' me later, are they?"[break][break]

The complaint feels stale, a very stark contrast to Marcel's actions, and he turns toward the bar with a shrug. Alcohol in Marcel could lead to a threesome or something and well why the fuck not right?[break][break]

"Yeah, just, order me vodka. Or something similar. And don't pull whatever shit you just did with the girls."[break][break]

He's salty about it, but, he knows good and well that Marcel doesn't give two shakes of a rattata's ass.

the club's pretty crowded, so it takes a bit of waiting before they reach the bar. marcel rests his crossed arms on the bar, only half listening to abner. "if you're so worried, go order your own drink," he finally says. the bartender makes eye contact with him, and he smiles. "you have a phone, don't you?"

that vodka is exactly the same in kalosian is something he feels is not worth mentioning. as he waits for abner's response, marcel orders a gin and tonic.

The fact that Marcel's rubbing it in Abner's face that he knows more... isn't anything new and it just makes Abner look really bored, because he'd tuned out. Marcel was literally saying, 'just be a functioning human being and you'll be fine' while Abner just wanted Marcel to do all the work for him.[break][break]

As revenge, he leaned forward toward Marcel and to his ear, lips nearly touching his ear. Invasion of personal space usually made Marcel bonkers, so it'd be a good revenge tactic; maybe even served cold.[break][break]

"You're a real buzzkill, y'know that?"[break][break]

With that, he gave Marcel's back a pat and headed toward a different section of the bar. The point of this endeavor was to

dance the night away

and forget that he was here with Marcel the Boring instead of giada morgan or even oscar clayton would help him have fun.[break][break]

But no. It's Mr. Wet Toast Mcgee.

"il a beaucoup trop bu..." he explains once abner's left. and then, to show how much of a good friend he is, continues without missing a beat. "vodka limonade, s'il vous plaît."
[break][break]the conversation's pleasant as the bartender makes abner's drink, and marcel can't help but think how much better this would have been if he'd gone alone.

it'd take a while, but marcel would eventually come to learn that next drink was a mistake. had he known, he would've just left abner to sulk--that would've been a far easier option, now he thought about it. as the other rocket's escorted none too gently out the building, marcel follows, irritation plain on his face.

"what the fuck abner?" he bites out without looking behind. if the man couldn't keep up with him, that was his problem.

So english is hard too, apparently. Either way, Abner's a little pissed and sneers at the bouncers who just groan like Abner's a child in a day care they had to put in time out and was now trash talking them.[break][break]

The curse came with a low growl, and then suddenly, Abner looked relaxed and fine. He spit on the ground to solidify the fact that he was now fine, and looked to Marcel with a calm, bored, raised brow.[break][break]

"You're a real shitty friend, you know that? If you just would've translated for me, I wouldn't have accidentally called her a cow."[break][break]

No, he'd have done it on purpose. Either way, he started toward where the hotel was at.[break][break]

"Damn... now what am I supposed to do with this?"[break][break]

The girl he'd danced with, he'd translated things the whole night. But one single typo caused the translation to goof and he'd insulted her. So the grinding they'd done all night led to a now ... hard place, and Abner wasn't sure what to do but get a cold shower. Because he was with Marcel. And he knew good and well that houndour wouldn't hunt.
