Oscar recalled a time, long ago, when he remembered what it meant to be innocent. Ah to be ignorant of the evils of the world, blissful in his rose tinted youth. It was a simpler time, a better time. It was 6 hours ago.

Oscar had been sitting at the water's edge in Sootopolis city all night, a fishing rod in the water and an expression of exasperation on his face. He was sent by his boss, marie jules, to catch magikarp. Like, a ton of them. Apparently the city had imported some really big ones from the Lake of Rage in Johto, and of course Rocket needed them asap.

Sounds easy, Oscar had thought. He used to go fishing with his dad and brother as a kid, with his experience how hard could it be? 6 hours later, he caught jack shit. Maybe, you think, he should send out one of his pokemon to hunt them from within the water. Except he didn't bring any, because he was catching magikarp. If you were picking flowers in a god damn flower field, would you really need the help of a pokemon? Catching magikarp was like number 5 on the list of top 10 easiest fucking tasks on the face of the planet.

But where were they!? How can six hours go by and not even the slightest nibble graced Oscar's pole. He could go back to the hotel and get a pokemon, but the sun would be up soon and some chuckle fuck might steal his spot. Ugh, what a pickle. As Iscar leered into the still water, he would attempt to center his mind. Surely they would appear any second, and all of this shall be a funny story he could tell back at hq. Right?

His eyes twitched. He couldn't take it any longer! He threw down his pole and stormed back to the hotel. It was still a bit before dawn, surely no one would be up this early. His spot was secure, had to be.
