Smugglers always worked at night. Fewer people, the cover of night to hide the cages, the stillness to help identify any interlopers. Yes, few could ever hope to attack the small convoy that wormed its way through the forest. Yes, Rocket traveled through the Petalburg Woods, on this quiet, cool night.[break][break]

Chu-e fucked hated it. It was cutting into his beauty sleep. The mud would get on his clothes. Bugs in his hair. That one girl from optics kept trying to hit on him and didn't seem to be getting any of his hints. A total yawn fest, and also just way below his pay grade. [break][break]

"A-anyway, so, um, after this, do you wanna go and... do something? With me?" Teddantha asked, coyly twirling a lock of hair around a finger. She glanced up at Chu-e from under her pretty eyelashes.[break][break]

Chu-e regarded with something like disgust for a moment before turning completely away from her.[break][break]

"I'm going to take a piss!" Was called, loud, to the rest of the group. Stomping ahead and away from the small group of Grunts he was supposed to be leading, Chu-e found a very nice looking bush that looked in need of watering.[break][break]

And so, prey had come to tavish rose.[break][break]

But instead of a war cry being let out, it came with the sound of a fly being unzipped.

But, Chu-e pursed what he could of his lips as Mila spoke.[break][break]

"I'm shure he'll show up shometime. People don't vanish forever."[break][break]

It was the best type of comfort that could be added from someone like him.[break][break]

About that time they turned a corner. There was a the promise of the exit! But, a massive, fucked up, and evil looking Delcatty stood in the way. The feline's ears flicked back as she took a step towards them, claws out and licking her lips. Like she might want to take a bite... she clearly wasn't normal. At all.[break][break]

"Sparklefur!" Chu-e cried out, rushing to the side of the fatass cat. She flicked her ear and side eyed him before kneeling down enough for him to throw a leg over her back. Like she was a horse or something.[break][break]

"Well, it looks like this is where we part ways... good luck getting home!"

'Woke up' isn't really an accurate description of what happened, but Chu-e didn't want to go into some deep reading of health issues at the moment. It was easier to let mila alexopoulos think he had simply been knocked unconscious or something.[break][break]

The spin of the fire made the cavern sparkle. It made Chu-e suppress a shiver. Crystals were terrible, terrible things.[break][break]

"Do they still have that iced 'hot' chocolate stuff? Or is that seasonal?" Chu-e lifted a perfectly manicured nail to a glossed lip, tilting their head back to stare kind of dully ahead. Big sunglasses were over their eyes and hair tied up. A loose and comfortable sweater. It was the perfect disguise.[break][break]

Next to the Obstagoon trotting along, on a very stylish and bedazzled pink leash Chu-e was barely even holding, was an orange Skitty. Sprinkles acted like she was the cock of the walk, sanguine smile on her kittenish face. A cute bow was wrapped around her neck.[break][break]

Der face light's up and Chu-e hums to themself, pleased. A small clap to match a cat-curl smile.[break][break]

Fenelle Miller signs fast enough that Chu-e can barely keep up. Their own reply is stilted and slow in comparison. They'd need to practice or maybe hit up Cillian Quinn for a few refresher courses. Did Cillian even know they knew sign language? That was a question for later, actually.[break][break]

We will have a good time. After you?[break][break]

Chu-e's own signing and sluggish and slow in response as they tried to remember the movements and wording. But it at least got the point across. Making a sweeping gesture with their arms, Chu-e did a half-bow like they were some gentleman (ha!). The machine only hummed mutely in reply, the sheer white inside almost blinding to look into.

There is a split moment where Chu-e's face shows confusion before it, too, is smoothed over. As if he can't understand why Cillian Quinn would bring him food. Instead of saying anything, he nods and motions for Cillian to follow him. The kitchen isn't attached to the living room like his last place, instead through a side door and attached to a small dining room. The top of the table is stacked up with various books. None of them are open, so this must just be some type of storage for whatever reason.[break][break]

The kitchen is nice and airy and roomy. Cillian would find it similar to his own in style and layout, only a few small differences given the shape of the space and the decor. They were neighbors, after all.[break][break]

Instead of warm foods and drinks, the air in here just seems as stale as the living room. Chu-e flips on the light and dust motes linger in the light. A drawer and cabinet are opened, two plates and forks taken out. This room doesn't seem dirty just... unused. If Cillian opened the fridge, all he would find are half used condiment containers and a few canned juices haphazardly stacked inside.[break][break]

"Thank you." Is suddenly blurted out, like Chu-e realized how quiet he was being. It's too loud in the blank space that had been too lively. An over-correction that would have swerved him into oncoming traffic.[break][break]

He seems to realize that, too, and a flicker of frustration is in his face.[break][break]

"I hadn't ordered dinner yet." Quieter. There is the jingle of a collar, a cream and peach Meowth walking into the room. Sugar tilts her head and sits on the floor next to Cillian, looking up at him with wide eyes.
