The Hisuian Typhlosion wore an almost cheeky grin as Sven acknowledged his efforts.

“Just glad to be of assistance.” Elinor replied for a moment considering to put the Typhlosion back into its ball, but she figured it might as well be allowed some time outside.

With no reason to linger they made their way away from the ride. Sven retrieved his Sprigatitos’ and alongside them followed Elinor’s own green kitten. It seemed to have enjoyed itself well enough.

Elinor picked up the little green feline and considered Sven’s question. “Sure, I am feeling a bit peckish.” An understatement. She could feel the quiet rumbling of a growing hunger in her gut.

And so they made their way to the nearest food stand. Sven seemed to buy a fair bit of food. Elinor bought a large serving of fries as well, mostly for herself and her own Pokemon, but there’d be enough to share should Sven’s feast prove inadequate.

Once her portion was done, Elinor joined Sven at the table, graciously accepting the drink Sven offered. Even going so far reply in kind “Oh no need to thank me, I wouldn’t have been able to fix the ride like that.” Before starting to snack on her own fries.

And so did the Typhlosion, doing its best to keep what little table manners it had been taught intact as it began to consume the cold dish.

For a moment it seemed nothing happened.

And then chaos ensued.

Celesteela began to fire at a suddenly appearing moon. Alexei ran for it, trying to get onto it. The kid took to the air on a Hydreigon, same as Guillermo though his choice of mount was a Flygon.

Elinor would not be left behind. With a maneuver well trained after years of doing so, she retrieved her three Pokemon and summoned another one in their place. The brightly illuminating Salamence readied itself as its trainer jumped onto its back, and then they took off into the air in pursuit.

Collecting Badges… Yeah she used to enjoy that. But lately her mood had soured whenever she looked upon her badge case. They reminded her of the League, of how they threw her away. Still, when Lars messaged her for help she could do nothing but answer the call.

And so here she was. With a greeting wave she approached her cousin by the entrance to the new TagTeam badge, by her side Aggron walked ready for battle.

Now all the had to do was walk inside, right?

Well, that was quite the ride. Her legs felt almost wobbly as she walked away after undoing the clasps and getting up.

Unfortunately she didn’t get far as the sound of something snapping and breaking. Suddenly the ride didn’t seem quite as safe.

But where Elinor considered letting the person behind all of this know, Sven was quick to duck beneath the ride to see if he could fix it.

She couldn’t help but wonder what his qualifications for such maintenance were. But when he, and much to her surprise a Morpekko, emerged it seemed they had already deduced the problem, tried to fix it and realized they needed some help with the finishing touches.

“I do.” She nodded and retrieved a Pokeball. From it a Hisuian Typhlosion appeared. It looked around, then at its trainer wondering why it had been summoned in such a non-combat situation.

“We need you to go in there and solder some wires.”

Typhlosion considered the idea for a moment, then nodded. It could do that. And so it dived beneath the ride, finding the wires that needed soldering and began to use its flames to gently solder them together.

Elinor took a moment to fetch her phone and snap a picture of the Minccino doing its little thing, before sending it out into Social Media space with the #funtasia.

And then she listened. Hideo’s invitation made her think. About her desire to do the Gym Challenge, about challenging the Elite Four, about becoming a Champion Ranked trainer. Did she need to do those things?

The more she thought about it, the more she leaned toward no. After all, she knew it was no more than a way for the League to keep tabs on strong trainers and employ them if the need arose. Glorified lap dogs without a salary. The light in her eyes and the smile on her lips dimmed slightly.

Meanwhile, Minccino shook its head as the young Gym Leader posed a question to it. A few happy chattering Minccino noises and the little ball of fluff was pointing toward its trainer, as it tried to inform Hideo that it had come here alongside Elinor.

“They are alright.” Elinor gave a fair nod. Popcorn was expensive. Her gaze turned to look at Minccino keeping an eye on it as it was given an offering. While doing so, she fetched her phone from her pocket and readied to snap a picture.

Minccino carefully grabbed the offering, making sure to blow on it to cool it off before nibbling upon the food. It was delicious.

Elinor snapped a picture of the Minccino with its little gift and sent it out onto her Social Media profiles tagging it as #Funtasia, just in time to answer the woman’s question.

“Been here a while. How about you?” based on the amount of food the woman had acquired Elinor would guess the same answer was incoming, if not longer.

Elinor gave a small nod. Not wanting to add further karmic-chance to the loaded die that was sure to be cast.

Instead she waited and watched with mild awe as her own Minccino joined the stage, surprising even her with its ability to juggle.

And on and on the performance went until at last it reached its end. While Sylveon was quick to storm off, Minccino stayed put for a moment giving the performers amble time to acknowledge it as a part of the act.

Elinor quickly grabbed her phone, took a picture and send it out onto her personal social media profiles, skillfully remembering to tag the post with #Funtasia and the title ‘Who knew Morrigan was a Carnie at heart.’ Now if only she remembered her little sister's social media tags.

And as Minccino finally made its way to their little group Elinor tried to ease the shyness of the Sylveon by joining Emmets chorus of “Yeah you were amazing.” And of course when Minccino rejoined the group she was quick to rain praises of “Well done, Morrigan.” Upon it.

Had the pink fur not covered its blushing cheeks, Minccino would’ve been read by now. Instead all that was seen was merely a snicker, before it tried to give the Sylveon a few reassuring pats on its back.

The crowd proved a minor nuisance. But they managed to find a small spot to watch the performance.

It was surprisingly eye-catching. She didn’t notice that Sylveon had disappeared for a short moment. But then she saw and the sight made her smile and chuckle. “Does your Sylveon do stuff like that often?”

And while her trainer was occupied with that, Minccino jumped off, and ran onto the scene eagerly waving its arms about hoping that the Sylveon would indulge it in a bit of team-juggling.

By the time Elinor noticed Minccino running off, it would already be too late. And so she instead slowly made her way over there approaching through the crowd with the grace and elegance of someone used to dancing between people.

It didn’t take long before she was within eyesight of the little Minccino. But seeing how Hideo had made it a part of the show, she did not interfere.

Minccino was just happy to be there and get to hold the blinking stars as well. The little furry creature’s eyes shone brightly as it watched the start shoot from Hideo’s throw.

She wanted to do that too. And so the little Minccino allowed the stars to fly with a throw of her own, chittering with excitement in the process as she saw the blinking lights fly.

Elinor noted the distressed kid. But was too slow to act upon it. Instead, she got a first hand view of a rather wholesome sight. While she knew better than to judge a person’s character on their appearance, it seemed to her that Hideo was what the League should aspire to be. Kind, gentle and capable.

A sour taste welled up in her mouth at the thought. The League was none of those things. Was she bitter? Definitely. Was it understandable? Perhaps. But be that as it may, she woved to not let that cloud her mind today.

And so, as she watched Hideo and the kids' little interaction she fetched some candy wrapped in a funtasia design. She quickly popped one open and began to consume it.

Mincinno had run off toward Hideo and the kid. It heard mention of the stars and decided that it too wanted to see the stars up close.
