Surprise smeared upon Kommo-o’s face as the Starmie and Aegislash suddenly switched places. Fist met with the King’s Shield. Thunder trying to puncture through. Quickly realizing that he wouldn’t be allowed to finish off the Starmie he send another THUNDER PUNCH toward the Aegislash hoping to break through and deal a bit of damage.

Elinor steeled her gaze. It seemed Fernando’s Pokémon were well-trained and had mobility on their side. If that’s the case, we just need to hit harder. Even if Aggron’s move set was unsuited for combatting Starmie there was still one way to increase its power.

Elinor took in a deep breath, A bright light enveloped Aggron for a brief moment as its form changed. It became bulkier, as its shoulder spikes grew, its helmet extended backward and its tail grew thicker.



Barely had the Mega Evolution finished, before rocks gathered more plentiful before. The Mega-empowered ROCK SLIDE flew toward the Starmie, intent on burying it.

A pile of papers had risen upon Elinor’s desk. It seemed whenever she took a day or two off, nothing got done at The League Headquarters. However, now a few hours later, she had fought her way through the pile leaving behind only a measly handful of reports to review. Though by now, she had wowed to herself that she would mention this at her direct subordinates’ next Performance Review.

Luckily, though the reports had been plentiful and the e-mail writing dull. It wasn’t unmanageable, something that could be heard through the open door as the clicking of fingers dancing over the keyboard created a strange symphony.

But at times the symphony would halt. Either because Elinor would deal with a perceived wrinkle in her grey business suit or because she needed to stretch.

But a majority of the time, when her clicking came to a halt, it would be because she would look toward the Bagon she had brought with her to the office. It was busy consuming a piece of Fruitcake that her secretary had been so kind to offer. But her eyes focused not on the consumption, but instead on bright Illumina patterns that spread over the Bagon. It added some much-needed color to the otherwise dull office that Elinor preferred to occupy whenever she was here.

It seemed Andrea hadn’t forgotten her, and the Hydreigon confirmed it. “Yep, that’s me.” She replied.

Before she could even offer help, the dragon-hooded girl had begun getting up on her feet. It didn’t take long before her draconic companion was noticed by the pair. And the greeting it got was almost melancholic. Though she couldn’t know for certain, Elinor certainly noticed that something was off. Worry spread over her face, though it was hidden for the most part.

The Salamence gave it a goofy-growled greeting.

Andrea’s eyes returned to Elinor. Locked in a gaze the woman began to address the council-woman. “It’s been far too long indeed.”

She broke the gaze as she was about to answer Andrea’s question. Eyes moving from one frozen Pokémon to the other until it fell upon the crescent—moon-shaped Mega-Evolved Salamence not too far away… And for a brief moment, she sensed clarity within reach. Though she let it slip. There was no reason to dig.

“Well, I heard what happened here. And came to have a look, and pay my respects to the brave Pokémon that gave their lives in service to Hoenn.” A solemn look in her eyes. “What brings you here?”

Disturbing reports had arrived at her office in the wake of the Meteno debacle. While everything hadn’t gone entirely according to plan, which was to be expected. What wasn’t to be expected was the sudden appearance of a creature known as Kyurem.

While it had disappeared not long after, a mere glimpse of its power had caused the creation of a permanently Frozen grassland, which people had taken to calling The Silent Iceland. It was this new area Elinor was flying over, on the back of her Salamence, Chang.

Another monster from beyond some veil safeguarding our reality…

The thoughts were plenty, but her fears were even more plentiful. It seemed when one obstacle on the path to Hoenn’s safety was removed another was quickly thrown in their path.

As she flew over the many frozen coffins, she spotted someone or something from high above. Ever curious she commanded her Salamence to descend, and as she did the person began to run or try at least.

By the time the Dragon and Elinor had landed, the person had involuntarily ice-skated into a tree.

“Are you all right?” She would ask as she hurried down, almost falling herself as landed on the icy ground. Luckily she had her Salamence to grab onto for that brief moment.

Luckily for her, even if she had fallen, her clothes protected her well enough from the cold. She was dressed in thick winter attire, a thick winter coat, appropriate pants, and complete with a mouth-covering mask, and flight-safe ski goggles. She’d be barely recognizable save for perhaps her voice if Andrea Vaneau remembered that from their last run-in.

Some might not have thought this day would ever come. But Elinor had known. Elinor had been certain. Elinor had been proven right. Though it was a hard-fought victory. They were no longer constantly threatened by a giant rock from space.

Though the details of their victory provided their own sets of obstacles. For now, Elinor would take a moment’s respite alongside the man she loved.

The first day of December had invited the people to begin winter festivities. Cold had begun to cling to Hoenn as Winter rolled over the region. Inviting Elinor to dress warmly, comfortably, and with a cute Woolen Aggron Hat. Surely nobody could recognize their local Council-woman dressed in such brandless clothes!

Some people, fervent in their desire for more drastic climates had decided to help winter along. And so Slateport park had been clad in dense layers of snow, made possible by countless Ice-types working in unison. Having heard about this, she had dragged Callan Young out for a walk in the snow, like completely average adults.

And they wouldn’t be the only ones enjoying the white wonders. Hoennites from far and wide were taking advantage of the snow. Children playing in the snow, building Snow Onix’s, and throwing Snow ammunition at each other. It was a delightful sight to behold. It filled Elinor with wonder and joy. A thought struck her. She allowed Callan to walk ahead, and hopefully before he realized she was falling behind, she would bend down, grab a handful of snow, form a snowball, and gently throw it at him…

Childish? Yes

Fun? Also yes.

LOCATION: Slateport Park

The chain broke. And yet she tensed. This was all too similar. Had they not so readily begun to celebrate the moment Necrozma had seemingly been captured? She was not about to make the same mistake.

When Dialga raised its hooves. She readied herself for the inevitable. She looked toward her Kommo-o, sharing a gentle grateful gaze with it as they both figured that this would be their last moment.

And then Dialga’s powers washed over them. But were they both expected a raging gale of time fury, they were met with a gentle wave washing over them. And as they looked around they saw time revert, Pokémon returning to their original forms, destruction repaired.

Elinor grabbed a Pokéball. With gut-wrenching fear, she summoned the Pokémon inside. Hoping that the same would be occurring to them. The feeling in her gut washed away the moment. She saw, not the Lairon but a fully grown Aggron manifest before her eyes. She threw herself at it. Hugging it.

The Aggron gave her some gentle pats on her back.

For a brief moment, they found peace and tranquility.

But good things rarely last long. The danger was always imminent. Waves of rogue energy began to appear after the Time dragon’s departure. Though Elinor was not one to simply run. She stuck around until it became clear that there was no other path to take, but to leave.

This hesitation to leave allowed her moments to think. Moments to consider what new dangers this time-fuckery had allowed into Hoenn, and perhaps more imminent, the Megalopolans that had been revealed during all of this.



TLDR:
- Elinor fears for her continued existence for a moment.
- Then realizes Dialga is kinda alright after Gron reverts to Aggron form
- She then sticks around to help until no longer necessary.
- While sticking around, she does some thinking and realizes Hoenn has been partaking in a big game of Among-us, without her knowing.

They were at the last stretch. While she doubted that they would be able to land in a top-three position, a solid fourth place was still within their grasp. But it wouldn’t be an easy one. No, they would have to fight for it. Luckily both Elinor and Steelix were ready for that.

With its large imposing body did the steel serpent push forward, the safety of those around it no longer even a thought to it. They would move or be squashed.

From up high, Elinor could see the finish line. “Almost there, let’s give it our ALL now!” She urged the giant beast on.

Steelix was all too eager to oblige. It increased its speed as much as it could, ROCK POLISH giving smoothness to its rough body, making it glide easier upon the wrecked course. They would reach the finish line one way or the other.

Elinor awaited with bated breath.

Then the sound of a heavy fist and sudden freezing emerged into the arena. The sandstorm halted. The battle had been finished. Gliscor lay on the ground defeated, but Kommo-o stood victorious. But that was all it could do. If it moved, it would fall. This Kommo-o was painfully aware of.

But then it began. The Rousing applause.



Elinor’s smile beamed bright, brighter even than the best of Cyanny Days. She took a moment to bathe in the adoration of her audience, in their fervent desire to shower her in applause. She gave them a wave acknowledging them, perhaps even letting the most fervent among the audience believe that they had helped.

She then recalled the Kommo-o back into its ball. A proud “Well done.” Offered to the Pokémon as she placed the Pokéball back into her trainer’s belt.

She gratefully accepts the Weather Badge from Cian, as she said. “Yeah, it was! To be honest, it was the best battle I've had in quite a while.” It had been a while since she had felt this equally matched. Though perhaps that was more on her for her choice of opponents.

One vs one.

Kommo-o liked the prospects of that. With Sand Veil rendered less effective, even if the Sandstorm itself was still annoying him. He now had what he believed to be an advantage.

The ice punch landed. Hitting one wing, forcing the Gliscor to the ground. Another advantage.

Kommo-o was quick to capitalize on these advantages. Storming towards the Gliscor even as it tried to meet it with a Night Slash. Though Kommo-o was quick to try and dodge, the dark-type attack still graced. But though the pain was abundant, its body aching from pain both poisonous and cut, the Kommo-o forced itself onward.

It would not fall without at least attempting one more ICE PUNCH to finish the match.

Their choice proved correct as Steelix and Elinor rumbled onward. And for a brief moment, they thought themselves in a safe fourth place.

But then MATIAS SILPH passed them, offering them a good-natured rib along the way.

She leaned in as a competitive grin spread. “Are about to let that challenge go unanswered?”

Steelix roared in reply to Elinor as it continued onward trying to catch up to the three-headed bird. Now unfortunately racing for the win would mean forgoing the opportunity to jump one last time. But such sacrifices had to be made sometimes.

And so Steelix descended down the slippery slope intending on plowing Pokémon and obstacle down in pursuit of victory.

A mild chuckle escaped her as Amor joked. Her faith in the plan was almost given otherwise it would definitely be a hard sell to those less trusting.

She took a sip of her drink as Amor explained. One might even notice a return to a more graceful form of moving, as she placed the glass back onto the table. Years of studious training in the art of proper restaurant appearance slowly returned to her, even if she didn’t notice it herself.

She paid careful attention to his wording and made sure to read the lines in between to not lose any meaning that Amor might’ve wished for her to notice.

She gave him an acknowledging nod “Indeed worrying will grant us naught.” She spoke, and she couldn’t help but feel a bit of worry.

“But that is certainly good news. I can’t imagine it was easy to convince GMH to part with those.” She mused. Now she admittedly didn’t know just how many of the Generators GMH owned, but she figured they weren’t made in abundance.

“As for what I will be doing until then…” She said trailing off as she pondered her reply. “Oh, this is going to sound so cliché. But I will be preparing for the future after Meteno.” Could she truly claim she had faith in the plan if she wasn’t going to be preparing for when the Meteor was no longer a threat to them?

“And should I find myself with an abundance of time after, I might even continue my tour through the Gym Circuit.”
