Her smile widens has he gets closer. She meets him halfway for the kiss, a gentle peck on his lips. She doesn’t pull away far, lingering for a moment in their closeness, “For you, of course,” she sneaks behind him and stands on the tips of her toes to comfortably reach. She gentle places the blind fold over his eyes, securing it with a bow. Her lips find the nape of his neck to nip playfully before returning to stand in front of him, “It’s your birthday surprise, after all” she explains, her hands trail down his chest, slowly undoing the buttons as she speaks, “But I can always wear it later if you want,” he can’t see her grin, but it’s there. Birthday boy gets what birthday boy wants.

Steel hooves miss their target and the Spectrier grunts in frustration. It’s ears pin back in defiance, a rough neigh belts out as the Flareon lunges. It’s so caught up in its frustration that the BITE is hard to dodge. It tries, leaping back a step but despite the paralysis the fire-type digs sharp teeth into ghostly flesh. A cry of pain pierces the air. Black ectoplasm oozes from the wound and down the equine’s leg. It drips onto the sand like tar. In a furious effort to dispose of the Flareon, War snorts, driving forward into the sand with its weight in an effort to BULLDOZE the fire-type off.

Huh? The Jolteon perks up at the sound of Killian’s voice after the Pin Missile strike true. She’s met with the unrelenting force of a DRAGON PULSE that forces her into the sand with a yelp, “What the fuck?!” Lex growls, pointing an accusatory finger at her lover, “So not fair,” she’d get him back for that later, “Don’t listen to him, Jolteon, get back up!” The electric-type slowly rises, shaking the sand out of her fur and the baring sharp teeth at the Poipole and Killian, electricity snaps and pops across her body, stimulating her muscles with another AGILITY.

Lex waits in the living room of their Lavaridge home, a broad, playful smile spread across crimson lips. The ghostly Gardevoir waits idly behind her to TELEPORT them to their surprise destination on command. Her amber gaze falls on Killian Decker when he enters the room, the smile turns mischievous, “Hey there, birthday boy. You ready for your surprise?” she holds up a familiar blindfold in one hand and beckons him closer. She wears a short, kimono-style robe. There’s no telling what’s underneath.

He has more faith in her than she does. She responds with a rather indifferent shrug, “Sure, just like you,” she teases, doubting whole0heartedly she’d be able to get herself to that level. Trying to run would save her before trying to use a gun would. But she’d try for him.

She smiles and her eyes sparkle with mischief, “Yes, sir,” she teases, stepping in front of him, close enough so that her back is pressed against his front. She glances back with a telling grin, “Let’s get started then” she hold out her hand for the pistol, finding more confidence with him so close.

All she wants to do is hold him, comfort him, love him, but he pulls away. He slips from her grip and the space between them returns. She steps away from the cold stone of the mausoleum she was pressed against. Amber eyes turn curious, stunned almost at the question he asks her, “Why?” He doesn’t know. Maybe she hasn’t told him enough.

“That wasn’t you that did that,” she let’s the implication that is was the monster settle in, “And I pushed you too far,” she admits with a sigh. That’s where she took fault, “I was lost before you, Killian. I was half of a person searching for something I didn’t know I needed,” digging deep is uncomfortable and she hugs her arms across her chest, “You taught me who I was and filled the voids I didn’t know were there until I was whole. Leaving you last year was – “ she can feel a knot rising into her throat, “It was like tearing a piece of me away. It was beyond painful, and I was lost again. It was the stupidest fucking thing I’ve ever done,” she steps closer, reaching for him, “I’m never making that mistake again. You’re a part of me, like the blood in my veins. I’ll love you forever, and another after that,” Does that answer his question?

Lex smirks as she watches the Rapidash celebrate with two limp hind limbs. At least King left a bit of a lasting impression on the fire-type. She accepts Greyson’s compliment with a nod. King did okay. He needs to be better, stronger. There’s no room for weakness where she comes from.

Greyson counters her Dusknoir with a Gengar. A toothy smile pulls across scarlet lips, “A Gengar,” there’s a admiration in the way she states the obvious. He closest companion is a Gengar but far too precious to waste in battles. She can’t risk anything permanent happening to him.

Lex is intimately familiar with Gengar and their CURSED BODIES. Fortunately, Umbra’s moveset is set up nicely to take on an opponent like this. The biggest challenge would be staying awake. Lex knows a Gengar’s dirty tricks, “FUTURE SIGHT,” Umbra obeys. The Dusknoir’s single eye glows with pink and purple hues, peering into the future and lying a trap for her ghostly opponent.

The concentration makes for an easy target. The first SHADOW BALL strikes and drives the Dusknoir back. The apparition spins left, narrowly avoiding the second which crashes beside her in a burst of sand.

A setting sun forms a rather vibrant backdrop to the end of a productive yet exhausting day. The red head watches it for a moment, letting the rising tide wash over her bare feet. It a strange feeling. Not the cool water contrasting the hot sand, but what she’s learned today.

For someone who is so used to running from conflict, she finds herself eager to jump into the heat of battle. It’s exhilarating and powerful. A grin pulls across crimson lips. She wants more.

Another lone figure loiters on the festival grounds. After a moment of study, it’s hard to dismiss who it is. His dominating presence can be felt even from this far. He lingers for a reason. Perhaps it’s the same as hers, so she approaches with a steady, casual gait.

“Gym Leader Silph,” she smiles, gently rolling a pokeball in her fingertips, “Care for one more battle today?”

Lex steps away so Killian can take her place in front of the target. Her hand feels strangely empty without the gun but at the same time she feels a sense of relief. Would she ever actually use what he’s teaching her? Hopefully not, but at least the knowledge will make him feel better.

Amber eyes trace over his stance, his posture, his concentration. It looks natural. To her though, it’s still strange since she’s never seen him do this. She flinches slightly at the three pops. She was expecting just one.

If he is looking to impress, it worked. The redhead smiles, stepping closer as he lowers the gun and turns toward her. She peers down towards the target, noting the cluster of new holes. A little rusty? She laughs eyeing him with a salacious hunger. It is pretty sexy, honestly, “Rusty? Please, Killian,” her eyes playfully roll and her hand motions towards the target down the range.

Lex pursed her lips, peering from behind dark sunglasses at the boy across the battle field. She hadn’t seen him around before despite him being part of Rocket. Of course, Lex didn’t really hang out with a lot of her colleagues. Still, she offered the boy a smile, “Hello there!” she even offered a small wave from across the field, “I’m Lex,” A pokeball drifted from her hand, cracking open to materialize a perky Clefable. Lex had participated in quite a number of battles so far and her pool of pokemon was starting to run thin. This was one that she swiped from one of Hoenn’s many swarms. Honestly, she ahd yet to see if this pokemon was worth the trouble she put in to grabbing it.

“Ready to start when you are,” she sent the Clefable out into the field and the pokemon readied itself for battle.

Lex grinned, peering at Roach from behind a pair of dark sunglasses, “Hey there, stranger,” she purred, popping a hip out to rest a hand on. The Liepard that sat beside her rubbed against her bare leg. Lex was looking a little red from being in her bikini in the sun all day. The battling had kept her too busy to reapply sunscreen. Ah well, that was half of being at the beach.

“Nah, Aubie’s taking a break. You get Liepard here,” and thank goodness, Aubie would have probably made quick work of the little Cubone. She felt half bad putting it up against a fully evolved pokemon. Regardless, it would be a fun fight, “Alright, get out there,” she stroked the dark-type’s soft fur as he leapt forward, gentle steps bringing him out towards the Cubone. His large tail flicked curiously as the Cubone readied itself with Focus Energy.

The feline grinned, stalking down into battle position. He unsheathed his claws, letting them scrape gently against the sand to sharpen their tips (HONE CLAWS). It didn’t take long for the pokemon to grow impatient. Liepard leapt forward, sending a wave of sand flying behind him. He reached a paw out, swiping at the Cubone with a SCRATCH.

Fire whipped around Jolteon like a tornado of flames. Heat buffeted her coat, eliciting a wince of pain even as she advanced after the Thunder Wave, “Switch!” A short, curt command changed the Jolteon’s target. Dark eyes left the Flareon and focused on the Poipole. The strategy was to distract the Poipole from Spectrier since Killian was nice enough to let her know what it’s next move was going to be. Lex smiled from across the field, blowing him a small kiss.

Leaping forward, flame tornado following, the Jolteon rushed towards the Poipole. Her sharp fur quivered, eyes glowing a bright green before a series of sharp, pointed barbs shot out from her fur towards the Ultra Beast.

War heard the command from the phantom plane. Their spectral form moved from the Poipole towards the paralyzed Flareon. Shifting its form, the equine leapt from ghostly world back onto the hot sand, rearing up to strike the Flareon with PHANTOM FORCE.

As requested, the little black bikini has made another appearance. They had to look like rich tourists on a yacht, after all, not high-ranking Rocket members that were after the pirates’ treasures. Lex had gotten wind of some pirates that had made off with quite the bounty. Naturally, she wanted it. She easily could have asked someone who needed less convincing but Killian Decker was the only one she wanted to work with. It was selfish, really, to take him away from his important tasks for her own benefit. Perks of being the girlfriend. Plus, he didn’t seem to be complaining.

“Mmm,” she smiled, sinking into the pressure of his hands as they slowly ran over her skin. His words trailed off as his ands dipped down her back. Lex stole a look back with a salacious grin. She battled her own enticing thoughts, “Don’t get too distracted,” she warned, “They should be here any minute now,” she was referring to the pirates, of course. They’d timed it perfectly to be in their normal path, “I’ve been thinking,” she mused with a sigh. That was always a dangerous way to start a sentence for Lex, she didn’t do a lot of thinking, she left that to the experts like Killian, “Do you think we can blackmail these pirates and use them to help with Sootopolis?” She speaks freely because, well, they’re on a boat in the middle of nowhere.

Fire Spin persist, tearing at King’s singed fur, break raw skin that make the mouse wince and fold over in pain. Crimson lips curl into a toothy smile as Lex watches the Rapidash charge forward in all its fiery glory. There’s not much the Raichu can do. THUNDER SHOCK strikes true in a flurry of flames and sparks. Still, the equine persists, its momentum carrying it forward until it crashed into the Raichu with all the force it’s built up. Lex already has the pokemon’s pokeball in her hands before he even hits the sand, “Impressive!” she compliments as the beam of light stretches out from her hand to consume the lifeless Raichu.

After a moment of consideration, Lex makes a bold move and selects a pokeball from the particular set of pokemon that she rarely battles with. The sphere cracks open and a Dusknoir materializes in a dark mist, fists clenched and crimson eye scanning the sandy battlefield. Umbra is a part of her elite group that serves as thieves, not battlers. Still, Lex is curious to see how the Dusknoir fairs in a battle. In proper battle etiquette, she waits for Greyson to make the first move since he won the last round.
