Steam filled the bathroom as Killian stepped out of the shower. He didn't bother with a towel, letting the water drip off him on the way to the sink. Mars' penthouse had its perks, but its shower couldn't compare to the one at home. Leaving it behind again is going to suck. [break][break]

Slicking back wet hair with one hand, the other wiped condensation from the mirror above the sink. "Man," he muttered, staring at his reflection. Killian barely recognized himself. The deep trenches under his eyes disappeared as if those long hours spent researching and working never happened. Thick red lines looking almost like eyeliner replaced them. [break][break]

Killian touched one, and the eye above twitched, its iris shifting from blue to red. "Good morning, Deoxys." indifference oozed from his raspy voice. [break][break]

He should be saying thank you, truthfully. The creature spent most of yesterday evening asleep. The rarity gave Killian and Lex a chance to spend time together for the first time in months.[break][break]

He's afforded a heartbeat of panic, of knowing, before the shadows drag him down to sleep. At that moment, a single thought floods him. It rings like a bell in a church, echoing in the darkening chambers of his mind. [break][break]

Not this familiar place of nightmares where seconds became hours, days, a lifetime. Killian fought desperately to escape before. He clawed at the walls and screamed into the void. Swore that he'd never come back to this tortuous landscape again.[break][break]

Now that he's returned, all he can do is wait. Wait in fear for the shadows to shift, for the image of 's bloated and rotting corpse to plague him endlessly. [break][break]

A dream forged by two minds greeted Killian instead.[break][break]

Memories of terror and desperation to flee from something greater than himself. Space is the only option. How long has he drifted amongst the stars? Centuries? More? The hands of time turn the memories into static. But they never erase the fear.[break][break]

Killian awoke in a sweat, head throbbing. "Lulu." raspy, in desperate need of a drink, his voice barely carries. His head darted frantically around the chamber. Watering eyes made it difficult to see, but it's safe to assume she went ahead and locked him away. The tug of restraints as he attempted to move all but confirmed it.[break][break]

"You loathsome, vile woman." Killian spat, "You should have stopped when I told you." [break][break]

He nudged at Deoxys, but the creature remained silent.[break][break]

"Undo these restraits. Now!"
