Bam nodded, hopping away for a moment, rubbing her own paws together as they gleamed with a faint sharpening energy. She wasn't sure if her opponent would recognize it as a Copycat or assume the Riolu had her own stat-boosting move, though she was definitely hoping for the latter.

Alright, it seemed like the bird was setting up for a single harder strike. Cardamom frowned for a moment as she considered whether to try and match that strategy or win by getting ahead on damage, while Bam stayed close to the Rookidee, watching it with intent eyes. Finally, Cardamom called out an "Again!" Nodding, the Riolu struck out again with another, alternating Metal Claw, continuing to rake at her opponent.

Coconut seemed a bit more steady on her feet now, after having leeched some of the energy from Blastoise. However, the blizzard raging around her soon sapped away more of that regained health, nearly driving her to her knees. Squinting through the ice, she focused, tiny Razor Leaves appearing around her and swishing forwards, flying half-blind through the snow to drive at her opponent.

"Sorry, Biff!" called Cardamom. Coconut was already injured, and Banana Bread doubly weak to ice. The Paras raised a claw in a hopefully understanding salute before he was frozen solid, icicles dripping down his shell. At least he'd made a pretty impressive pose before that.[break][break]
Cardamom rotated him out to let him thaw, bringing Coconut back in. "Take your health back!" called Cardamom. Understanding, the Skiddo immediately dove forwards with a Horn Leech attack, aiming to draw out health from whoever she struck.

Bam waved and let out her own yip of greeting upon seeing the other Riolu, before blinking when a different Pokemon was released upon the field instead. However, despite the bad type matchup, she remained determined, putting her paws together in preparation. Cardamom nodded as well.[break][break]
"It's no problem," she said. "Bam's got quite a few tricks up her sleeves. Metal Claw!" The Riolu nodded before charging, one of her paws glowing with a steely glint as she prepared to smack it down on the tiny bird's side.

Which was why he was down by the shore now, watching as the Gorebyss circled around in the water, occasionally poking her head out to squirt water at him playfully. He chuckled, raising a hand to block some of it. "Hey, don't get me too wet," he warned. "I still have to wear this for the rest of the day, you know!"

Coconut let out a surprised squeak as the icicle came flying towards her, smashing into her and leaving her grassy pelt mostly frosted over. However, despite her shivering, she managed to stay standing. Cardamom looked indecisive for a moment, then quickly pressed the button, rotating Biff into place. "Sleep Spore!" she yelled. While it wasn't the official name of that move, it made it much clearer which one she wanted the Paras to utilize. The mushrooms on his back plumped up, and he swept a claw forwards, sending the sleep-inducing spores at the giant sea serpent in front of him.

Bam had actually done pretty well in that double battle, but she wanted a chance to see how well she fared on her own as well. Which was why the next scheduled battle was a one-on-one. The Riolu was already out in the arena, hopping back and forth from one foot to another as she warmed up and waited for their opponent to arrive.[break][break]
Cardamom was glad that she wasn't as impatient as some of her other team members. For now, she was simply taking all this as a chance to get more in the mood and prepare for the actual battle.

Normally, Grass-type attacks being directed at him would barely bother Banana Bread. But he was already on his last (metaphorical) legs, and this returned strike was the final straw. Even before the leaves reached him, he was already flagging, and he slowly started to spiral downward, hitting the ground on his knees and dropping unconscious. Cardamom immediately rushed forward to get a better look at him. Thankfully, it seemed to be more exhaustion than anything else.][break][break]
"Don't worry, you did well," she murmured, before grinning a bit at Kyle. "Nice battle!" she added. "That Rotom of yours is pretty tricky, aren't they?"

Shin blinked and sneezed as the powder rained down over him, looking down at his claws with confusion as something seemed to shift internally. His claws and eyes seemed to have taken on a faint pink sheen, and his eyes even had their own slight glow to them now.[break][break]
"Huh? Oh wow, I didn't expect that. Be careful of what she's bringing next!" called Cardamom. Shin nodded, keeping an eye on his opponent before suddenly jabbing a paw forwards in a Feint Attack. The Dark-type attack felt much more unnatural to perform with his new, altered, type, but that didn't mean he wasn't going to do his best. Once he'd struck out, he quickly started backing up, still keeping an eye on his opponent and ready for whatever she might try next.

Cardamom and Luke let out a simultaneous cheer as Dragalge collapsed. "It's down to one-on-one!" exclaimed Cardamom, hopping up and down excitedly.[break][break]
"Yeah! You can do it, Nash!" cheered Luke, encouraging the Absol on. Nash lowered his head to face his opponent-and then she suddenly vanished. He tried to spin around to try and spot her again, but she appeared behind him and struck before he could even turn around. Despite the low effectiveness of the move, Nash was close enough to fainting that that did him in.[break][break]
"Awwww...still, we did pretty good, didn't we?" asked Luke, even as he went to get Nash recalled.[break][break]
"Yeah, we did," agreed Cardamom. The way this tournament worked, she'd get the badge either way, after all. Besides, it would probably make the little girl pretty happy to win a fight alongside her idol.
