Keenan and his Houndoom walked up to the next one in line. A young looking guy that introduced himself as Locke. He seemed nervous...maybe Kee can help with that. "I'm Keenan Toral, nice to meet you." Sitting down, he blinked kind of blankly at the question. "Just my little brother that I managed to convince into coming here just so he can socialize...why?" Keenan was five foot eight, and one hundred thirty-ish pounds. He was a skinny teenager, but perfectly healthy in both height and weight for a male. It was an odd question to him. Surely the guy didn't think Keenan was younger than 17 to 18 years old? Locke didn't look to be any older than he was...

Kee nodded. "Might not be a bad idea while I wait for a rematch with Noah. I think his gym is in Verdanturf at least..." The blonde tried to think of where exactly it was, and if it had a gym. He was never really good at directions and all. Nodding at the sage words, it pretty much mirrored his motto. "I'm certainly trying, and trying to take advantage of the lull. My motto is "don't give up. There's no shame in falling down, true shame is never standing back up." I can't let myself fail by not getting back up and learning lessons or preparing better or something. Especially since I'll never hear the end of it from my little brother..." Aaron already earned the badge from Noah before their adventure really began, the smaller blonde's Trevenant fighting on near equal footing with Noah's Hitmonchan. Then Daisuke asked about his Houndoom, still as relaxed as ever, making small talk with the Audino. "Oh, since he was a little Houndour puppy. He evolved several weeks ago, but he's as chill as ever. I've had him the longest by far. What about your Audino?" The chime happened, making Kee pout cutely a little. "Well, I'll keep the Duvet ranch in mind. Though I also wouldn't mind meeting later to continue our chat too. If it's okay with you that is." He hoped he wasn't pushing his luck, or at the least wasn't being slightly creepy...it would be nice to have another friend, too.

Kee didn't react much to the sudden movement. The blonde just stopped his reach and flinched a little...a natural reaction. Blinking at the words...he almost wondered what Bryan saw. "Fear? Is that what you see? It's hard not to be on edge a little around you, try as I might to not let the rumors color my perception of you. Even without that...you're intimidating. It's natural to be afraid of things...it hardly shows weakness. I may not have stopped a thief from stealing supplies from rangers, but I did manage to hold my own long enough for the authorities to scare him off. I was definitely scared then, but I still faced him with everything I had then. We've only gotten stronger since, haven't we, Houndoom?" The dog barked in confirmation, for he was but a Houndour at the time.

What was concerning was the way Bryan ended his little lesson. "That can be interpreted in a couple of ways, and I'm not sure which way you mean. And now I'm almost afraid to find out. Looks like it's time to move on though, so here's to hoping I don't get to find out. No offense." A chime sounded just then to signify the change. Kee got up then. "Good luck, and have a good day." With that, he left for Bryan's next date to arrive.

Kee thought the man would initially balk at the lack of formalities, but seemed more comfortable with it. After all, this shouldn't be some interview for a job. At least, not in his mind. Daisuke was doing much the same as him, aside from being a part time ranch hand. "Oh? I helped out a rancher a little bit with a few little things...I needed a little bit of help since I didn't have the physical strength for some of it..." He sheepishly rubbed the back of his neck. He was a skinny kid and didn't have much muscle. He could dance and sing and run, and that was probably it. The blonde was asked another question, and after thinking about it, it made him a little down. "Too long without a single gym badge under my melt..."

Kee's Houndoom opened one eye at the Audino, and answered since he was a puppy. The devildog had been with Kee by far the longest of the crew.

Bryan definitely looked like he didn't believe him, but didn't mention it. Well, that was good at least...maybe he dodged a bullet there. The man mentioned a challenge to Noah, and having fought against Gym Leader Sullivan during the Star Tournament that he just barely missed out on. And having earned it then. So Bryan was evidently a formidable trainer, even if the guy neglected to mention if he won or failed the challenge with Noah. "I see...I'm on the list for Greyson Connor's challenge, that one actually starts soon for me. And I finally got on the list for Sullivan, though that one is a long ways down. They're so busy that it's a headache just trying to find one that's open..." Keenan lamented and whined, reaching out for a chocolate sweetheart. Bryan was intimidating...almost too much for the poor blonde. So Kee didn't really know where else to go from here...

Well, he seemed...a little standoffish? The vibes was definitely in the aggressive part. Nodding nervously, Kee tried to break the ice a little. "Yeah, that's me. How are you, Bryan? I know we didn't ever officially meet or anything, but I have heard at least plenty about you back at Littleroot. Not that I paid much attention to the rumors or anything!" Keenan panicked and tried to quickly diffuse anything that came his way. It was at least a half truth, he really didn't pay much attention to rumors. And he was going to try to not let what he'd heard color his perception of the older man. Sighing heavily, and still feeling like he put his foot in his mouth, he tried again. "What have you been up to? I'm just travelling around and trying to do the gym circuit..."

Kee smiled at the cute Audino. He wasn't sure if he would like one himself, but he couldn't help but wave at it. Houndoom opened one eye and gave a short, but friendly bark. The older guy introduced himself and held out a hand for a shake. Kee obliged, and did add one correction. "Just Keenan is fine." He wasn't much into formalities in the first place. Daisuke sat down, and asked about Keenan, first about what he did for a living. "I'm a traveler at the moment...trying to do the gym circuit, and also trying to find out what I want to do for the rest of my life. Going out on an adventure helped my parents find their passions, figured it wouldn't hurt to see if it helps me find mine." Kee was honest and seemed approachable enough. "What about you?"

The man didn't seem that much older than Kee was, but he also didn't see this guy as being interested in romance either. But that was okay by him. Friendly questions usually didn't hurt.

Keenan was surprised that he had pushed his little brother enough to join on this little event. He could see the guy across the room talking to a blind kid. And was that a small smile on his face? Did he meet this kid during his own adventure? So many questions and not enough answers. But alas, Kee had to focus on his own second chance. Looking down at his Houndoom, he noticed his doggo had perked up and was glaring at someone. Looking up, he saw Bryan Delarosa. Oh, he knew this guy. He was a good five years older than Kee, and was a known bully. Hopefully he's mellowed out since. The blonde gave a shy smile and wave at the guy as Bryan was approaching his table...

Keenan Toral was here for a chance at love. Well, that was the initial reason. If he could make some friends, that would be nice as well. The eighteen year old dress fairly plainly with a red button up T-shirt, a black shirt underneath, blue capris, pink crocs, and baby blue socks. His Houndoom laid beside him, almost looking like he was asleep. Though the devil dog's ears were perked up and at the ready should anything happen...always a good guard. And probably Kee's signature Pokemon. Unfortunately, he hadn't really met a lot of people yet...hopefully this will help with that.
