Summer chuckled, grabbing her mimosa as soon as it was set down in front of her. "Darling, I know you'd do the same thing if you were in my position. We are one and the same, Mars," she said with a sip.[break][break]

And so was the smell of the food, as it wafted toward her. Even Ragnarok lifted her head, sniffing the air to get a wiff of the smell. But just as Summer was going to dive into the food, the cries of the WINGULLS grew louder, and there was a flurry of white feathers in front of her.[break][break]

Typically, Summer Atreides wasn't one to believe in stories like these. Ones where you'd go into cave and find a shrine. Pray at the shrine, and ring the bell: all your worries and troubles for the year would wash away! You'd be blessed to have a good year, and your Pokemon may grow stronger...[break][break]

In truth, she found these stories ridiculous. But, as her first several months of being CEO of Prescott Industries drew to a close, she began to wonder — surely trying this wouldn't hurt, right?[break][break]

Of course, not after the hardships she endured.[break][break]

So, she'd make sure she was the only one there, or at least try to disguise herself so no one else would recognize her. And she approached the shrine, bowing down to it on her knees, and prayed: [break][break]

"Please, bless this year to be a joyful one. Bless me and my brother. Take away all of our hardships."[break][break]

With one last look around her, Summer struck the bell.

Brunch was always welcomed, and the change of scenery in Lilycove City was quite nice. It was relaxing, cups of water poured for them as their orders were taken back to be prepared. Summer waited almost impatiently for her peach flavored mimosa to be brought out.[break][break]

Her hand absentmindedly ran through the fur of her ARCANINE, resting silently at her side. Her large paws were crossed in front of her as her head rested on top of them, leaning just against her trailer's leg.[break][break]

"If this is how all of our training sessions go, I think I'll come to all of them," Summer said with a smirk.

Hela was down for the count, and Summer knew as much after shielding her eyes from the flurry of blows from above. Once it was over, she grabbed her Poke ball and opened it, summoning Hela back inside to rest.[break][break]

Stashing her ball for her Pokemon to heal, Summer approached her friend and placed her hands on her hips, raising her brow.[break][break]

"I have a hunch you're about to give me a lecture."

Summer snorted, remembering when she and knox prescott would go out and club together. Get drunk, get high, do anything they could to just be free of responsibilities.[break][break]

"My brother and I liked to go clubbing. Call us irresponsible, but it was definitely something we hid from our father. Or, at least, I tried to. He disliked my brother's party addiction, but I would play it off as me trying to reel him in."[break][break]

Summer had a bit more freedom than her poor brother, who was booted out of the house. Made to be hunt down by their father, to be eliminated. He had been seen as a stain.[break][break]

Not anymore. Summer would protect Knox with her life.

Summer, clearly, did not know that about TRICK ROOM. But, then again, her specialty didn't lie with psychic-types. She could tell you about fire-types and dark-types, and she was beginning to work on her specialty in ghosts, but the HATTERENE was a mystery to her.[break][break]

So, as Mars explained it to her, it made more sense. And she cursed, Hela growing slower as the opposing Pokemon stood to its MEGA EVOLUTION prowess.[break][break]

"Even if I lose, I'm still going to whoop your ass until you've knocked me out of the battle completely," Summer said feistly, placing her hands on her hips with a look. "I don't go down easily."[break][break]

No, she kicked and screamed.[break][break]

"Give it all you've got left, Hela!"[break][break]

So, with whatever energy she had left, Hela sent a SHADOW BALL in the direction of the MEGA HATTERENE. It was likely the last resort, but at least Summer could go down with style.

Normally, Summer would snap, say something snarky or sarcastic. But, she was quiet for once. Thinking over what was said between them. Were they similar, with their upbringing? Or was he trying to relate with her, and he couldn't since he had no way of knowing her connection to Rocket?[break][break]

Summer didn't even remember her mother's face. She remembered the day she found their father's journal and the note he'd written about her assassination. All of her images were burned and destroyed.[break][break]

"It's okay. Nothing we can change about our past, right? We may as well move along." She offered him a smile, or at least the best she could offer.[break][break]

The offer of the sticky, candy-coated strawberries were not passed up. "I'll take one, thank you."

Summer heard the clicking of his tongue, and there was a sudden shift in the room. It was like the speed in their Pokemon switched, and the next thing she noticed, her Pokemon was being flung back with a resounding punch. It was enough to make her wince as Hela let out a whine.[break][break]

"The hell..."[break][break]

There was only a moment's pause before Hela was back on her feet, shaking off the punch. Summer swiped her hand down, and her Pokemon responded with an AGILITY before charging with a NIGHT DAZE, trying to catch Mars's Pokemon off guard.

Summer thought briefly for a moment how exactly she could explain all of this to him without giving away that she was, in fact, in Rocket. And not just anyone in Rocket. No, she was an executive in Rocket. Just below the Rocket Beasts, higher than the grunts. She stared ahead before she spoke.[break][break]

"In a way, I suppose. He was rather strict. When he decided that I was going to take over the company, my childhood was essentially gone. My life was just training to become a CEO. I was given tasks that were difficult for a child to comprehend. Like taxes or confrontation of business issues."[break][break]

The reality was, she handled much more than that at a young age. Enough so that she had become numb to the illegal world.[break][break]

The honest truth of the matter was, Summer was really beginning to regret asking Mars to help her train in various ways possible.[break][break]

"I don't really come to things like these often. I went to one last year. It was alright."[break][break]
