Summer was unable to control the goosebumps that dotted her skin as he whispered near her ear while kissing her neck. The hand she had held on his chin fell, coming to rest on one of his shoulders as the other trailed up his other arm.

"Exactly," she answered, almost breathlessly, as his hand delved downward.

She had half the mind to just close the gap between them and ignore his demand. But, of course, she knew that it was an important decision. One that was haphazardously made in the midst of her brain fogging and becoming a mess because of Cade

"Persim," Summer breathed, tilting her head back as he exposed her face with his hand.

Without another word spoken, Summer ignored her previous wish of him kissing her, instead practically leaping forward and capturing his lips with hers. He was intoxicating, and she wanted to devour him all.

Summer only had a moment of relief that she managed to get Remiel out of the way. Somehow, she'd managed to step out of the way again, swiping her rusted spade forward to make contact with this thing.

However, it crumbled, much to her dismay, breaking into pieces due to rust and age. She cursed, throwing the handle to the ground as she tried to push her companion away.

It seemed this thing changed targets, locking in on her as it dripping hand snapped its jaw back into place. Summer's hand churned, and she could've thrown up if she wasn't in a fight or flight mode, her adrenaline pumping in her veins.

"Remiel, we have to go, now-"

She let out a surprised screech, fear making her blood freeze like ice had been injected into her. The air was knocked out of her body as the thing jumped and pinned her to the ground. She was dazed, trying to catch her breath as she saw the snarling maw coming for her face.

With a roll, Summer managed to dodge the bite.

"Help!"

Was he going to leave her there to die?

Summer needed another drink. She needed a sniff, a smoke, something to start a buzz in her veins and send her head into the clouds. To forget. Perhaps she'd grab another one after she answered this question.

"Well, I'm going to be the best damn CEO in Hoenn. And I won't be anything like Merrick Prescott," she said.

Perhaps not an answer he was digging for, but Summer didn't have it in her to dig further. For Callan, he needed to know that she'd make her company prosper and fix the wrongdoings of her father. Was she DECEPTIVE? Of course.

But he was an Elite Four now. And she was in Rocket. The two didn't go together. And all she wanted their relationship to be was what they had. Cheerful banter and friendship, drinking, and hooking up. She didn't need affiliation to ruin that.

Slipping from his lap, Summer sauntered to the private bar in their room, mixing two drinks for the both of them. As returned, handing his over before sliding back into his lap with hers in hand.

"Is this what you wanted to do? Become an Elite Four, run a gym... everyone in Hoenn knows your name by now. Anyone would love to be in your presence and to be held by you. And still you picked me to spend your time with tonight. What do you see in me, Callan?"

Summer watched as Trish summoned forth her ROCKRUFF. The small dog took the command easily, sniffing the ground intently. Though she made the initial move to have the grunt do all the work, she felt compelled to send a Pokemon of her own to help out her new coworker's Pokemon.

Summoning forth her HISUIAN ZOROARK, the ghostly white creature regarded its master with an almost crooked grin.

"Track down the SPOINKS with Trish's ROCKRUFF. Make it speedy."

With a small growl of acknowledgement, there was a flare of red as it turned tail to trek down the path. It walked forward in a hunched manner, scouring the plants around them in an silent fashion to avoid chasing away their targets.

"Bacon... I suppose that's a good way to track down a target," she said with a chuckle.

Trick or treating was a past time that Summer Prescott had long grown out of. As a matter of fact, she rarely went trick or treating when she was a young girl. Her family, or rather her father more specifically, had her focus on the reality of life rather than enjoy things like knocking on neighbors doors and getting candy.

So when she agreed to take little Eris Halla out to trick or treat, she wasn't sure what she was getting herself into.

Perhaps, deep inside, she wanted to protect Eris. Summer wanted to offer her a chance at a better childhood than she had. But she had already suffered so much. Maybe she was already too late.

She shook the idea from her mind as she finished the last touches to her costume, the same witch outfit she had gone to a Halloween party in and met Callan Young at. Still revealing, but she tried to make herself less R-rated and more PG-13 for Eris's sake.

"Eris? Are you ready, my dear?" she called, adding the last touches of mascara on her false lashes before closing the tube.

Summer tipped her drink back, allowing herself to savor the sip before sighing and setting it to the side. She looked him over, thinking before speaking again.

"You, or your family, actually have more money than people think. More worth, some would say in the business world."

Summer wasn't sure how he was able to be so philosophical at a party, with alcohol ingested and the possibility and likelihood of drugs being passed around. She could hear music thumping outside like a heartbeat, which was almost enough to distract her thoughts from his statement.

Though one phrase caught her attention. "Whoever made Prescott Industries."

That alone was enough to sober her up for a moment, to make the feeling of nausea rise in her throat. Her gaze settled past him, her father's image resting there. That torture she'd endured, his psychological abuse, all the way to the end. When she ended it all for her brother's sake and her own.

Paranoia threatened to consume her, her blood growing cold and rising before Callan spoke her name again. He brought her out of her spiraling, back into the moment. Where she was sitting on his lap and looking down at his beautiful face. Did he think the same of her?

"It was the only thing that I knew to do," Summer admitted truthfully, almost sadly.

"I know no other life. I was trained for this, and only this. I was the heir, the prodigy. I don't know what else to do."

Summer couldn't help the snort, followed by a sharp spell of laughter at his statement. Shouldn't he know, since they had spent time together before? She wondered where he was going with this.

"I feel like you should know that. Did you want a gimme?"
