It’s silly but even though the fitting room is only a few metres away and there’s nothing but a thin door separating them, Lia still finds herself wishing she didn’t have to leave his side even if only for a few minutes. There’s obvious implications that come with those feelings, and she can recognize them because they’re there plain as day, but while usually they’d make her slightly concerned because of everything they have discussed, at this moment they make her happy.

So, a smile also lingers at her own lips when stepping out of the fitting room in the gold dress, so very easily finding Lance’s gaze.

The word drifts idly into her mind a second after a kiss is placed on her cheek, and it’s at both things that Lia smiles, looking up to meet his gaze as she has become so used to doing since they first met. A slight blush colours her cheeks, but she doesn’t mind this.

She chuckles, and it's then that she returns the gesture and kisses his cheek, smirking before returning to the fitting room.

How hard could it be to get rid of a single pokémon, right?

After all, it’s not like Snorlax are heavier than most pokémon out there and incredibly difficult to wake, right? Except that, well… they are, and that’s exactly what Lia realizes when reading the pokémon’s entry in her Rotom phone’s dex app – right before leaving Lilycove’s Ranger HQ, thankfully.

Ranger cadets aren’t born encyclopedias on pokémon and pokémon behaviour, but Lia is learning, and it’s this newly acquired information that helps her come up with a possible plan. One that involves a stop by Dodrio’s Pizza when heading over to Verdanturf on her Pidgeot’s back.

Half a dozen pizza boxes and also a couple of smaller ones.

That’s what our ranger delivery girl is holding when they finally land at the entrance to Route 117, carefully hopping off her Pidgeot’s back before her gold-coloured gaze falls on the guy standing nearby. Looking at him over the small tower of boxes, she offers a gentle yet polite smile.

Pikachu aren’t particularly common pokémon to just find when wandering around in the woods, and that’s something Lia learned recently when trying to familiarize herself with what sort of pokémon actually live in this or that area of Hoenn. You know… The sort of thing a ranger should know.

So, naturally, her first thought when seeing a pikachu running towards her is that it’s probably someone’s pokémon, and that thought seems to almost confirm itself when some guy comes yelling after it.

Although… Not really… He could be mean to the poor little Electric type or something. Otherwise, why would it run away?

Either way, she decides to intervene, because that’s the sort of thing a ranger would do, right?

”Lei, do you mind?”

The Comfey that had been comfortably wrapped around her forearm uncoils itself, shaking the flowers it holds to release a delightful SWEET SCENT. It’s bound to lure the pokémon it reaches, the Comfey’s own fragrance adding soothing notes to it.
