it reminded him of the burnt tower, but an ironic twist of events spells the rain in a different light in this story.

entei was the spectator. it had established that from the start. it wasn't meant to tamper with how things were supposed to go as much as it already did, and a dilemma starts to corrupt its calm.

embers start to flicker from the warmth emanated by its fur. these same flames that soothe Mitsuru Kagami's palms from the stalactite's residue burns hot altogether, numbed by the torrential rain that flooded the city.

entei throws Mitsuru Kagami off as it starts to vent off its frustrations.

in the same manner of storytelling, an inferno is once again involved. sacred fire engulfs the tree from its branches, eating away at the cancer that plagued those that embedded itself deeply within sootopolis soil.

the downpour dampens the beast's tantrums, but it doesn't ease away at the feelings of lost.

it probably was more than his third time since he already told himself that he wouldn't keep track. it'll just be too depressing if he finds out how many attempts it took him to successfully perform one.

kyle prepares for another magikarp splash. attempting to do the trick over and over again might be fruitless in the short run, but he's playing the long game.

if anyone asks why he's out here diving for trash, he'd say it was him taking part on trying to get slateport's beaches clean. it's such a noble reason that no one would fault him to it.

arms stretch as if he had done hard work. all he had done for today was enter the facility and follow a togepi. besides the excuse, he also earns himself a fire axe of seemingly decent condition.

the report will consist of an exaggerated retelling of the events, which rex would probably compound on given his energetic nature. it was always expected on those people who proclaim their outlandish dreams to people who didn't ask.

it feels tedious to do this all the time, but kyle has some free time to kill.

wading through the water invokes nostalgic feelings. having been born on hoenn, the slateport beach was always a destination for the summer. he wasn't the most physically active kid, but he was easily strung along to these kinds of activities as a child.

the smile on his face as he reminisces the past quickly fades when he realizes he needs to dive.

he raises an eyebrow at the question.

"uh, probably not?" he answers in confusions. "i think this is the first time we met, sorry."

he couldn't blame him though. his features were really generic that even white streaks in his hair can be considered normal within hoenn. besides, everyone else looked like main characters of their own stories, including this guy.

kyle lets althus pick himself up.

"we should head back though if you're really out of pokemon. do you want a ride?"

he starts walking out of the room where the fainted wild pokemon were, deeming it a safe route that the togepi has provided.

"oh, yeah, just call me kyle," he introduces.
