Ceri tends to be the sort of person who keeps her negative comments to herself. She says sweet things, acts nice towards people, and very rarely has anything mean to say. So, when hearing Kyle’s response, she looks at him, and she stops herself from saying the obvious thing that crosses her mind at that very moment:

Instead of saying as much, she chuckles, tilting her head and offering Kyle a gentle smile, because honestly, there’s something amusing about knowing that this is what the champion is really like.

Aren’t things like dress codes boring? Maybe Ceri should count herself lucky that Rocket isn’t strict about those things. Like, imagine if they had a uniform or something… Wouldn’t that be funny?

It is, and it’s kind of what she would expect from a man in a position like his: to be considerate of event organisers and whatever else.

Kyle’s next comment, however, is not what she would have expected at all. In fact, it’s so surprising that it earns him a laugh on Ceri’s part.

”Aw, mean! I hope you don’t end up thinking that about this date…” She pouts, but it’s soon enough that that fades and her smile returns. ”I totally get it, though. There were a couple where I was really glad these things only last like five minutes.”

To be completely honest here, Ceri couldn’t care less about this whole S.P.E.C.T.R.A. ordeal. Her involvement with Team Rocket centres around science above all else, but the fact that Remiel Calcifet is running this? Best believe she’s petty enough to show up just to give her cousin a hard time.

Except that apparently that coward is hiding up in the control room where they can’t even see him. Go figure.

The response came almost instantaneously, Ceri beaming at Elisabeth with the brightest and sweetest grin she could give. That was just the way she was: on the surface, sweet and lovely, but the Kalosian woman was right, and she would have had no hesitation in punching someone if she felt obligated to do as much.

”Right, though? I have a friend who loves Steel type pokémon and like I could never. Don’t get me wrong, I love engineering and all, but Grass and Poison types are just my jam, you know?”

Did she know? Probably not, but Ceri had a way of acting as if just about anyone she met was a friend she made long ago.

A single gesture and SLEEP POWDER began to be expelled from its bloom, the Galarian being well aware that the dust would be absorbed into the Tentacruel’s system the moment it made contact…

To be completely honest here, the grand majority of Ceri’s dates during this event were starting to blend together in her head. Too many people in too short of a time, only a few leaving a lasting impression in her mind. But, wasn't that kind of the point? To meet a whole bunch of people and see who stood out to her the most?

”Oh!” Her mouth does indeed form a perfect ‘o’, pointing at him in a way that would seem almost accusatory if it weren’t for the bright smile upon her lips. ”You’re the champion guy, right? kyle lopez! I’ve seen you on TV!”

A soft laugh leaves her then, taking a seat and allowing her lazy Toxel to rest on her lap.

”If I had known there’d be so many famous people here I would have dressed nicer.” Obviously, she’s not underdressed in the slightest, but this is just how Ceri is. ”I’m Ceri Glynn, by the way. It’s lovely to meet you!”

The problem with art, as Ceri sees it, is that it’s too subjective – that there’s no tangible criteria to differentiate what's good from what’s bad. At least not as far as she’s aware, and Calem’s retelling of his experience with it sure seems to prove exactly that. Still, it’s amusing enough to earn a light laugh on her part:

In a way, even science could be like that sometimes. Before peer review happened and someone replicated another’s experiments, it was all about who could write the most convincing paper with the most believable hypothesis…

Ritual is no unfamiliar place to Ceri. Not because of its connection with Team Rocket, even though she has heard of the underground speakeasy before, but because her and her friends have stopped by more than a few times when out drinking – as Xander Belmont would know.

Despite the way she may act and how deceptive appearances may be, it’s the sort of place she’s fond of, so when hearing virgil roach would host a game night at the bar, of course she had to stop by… and why not bring a date with her, right?

Holding beckett carlson’s hand to pull him along, it’s with a light giggle that she walks through the door, umber hue taking a second to adjust to the light before the surprise of encountering a few familiar faces settles in. She sure hadn’t expected to see the likes of FERNANDO SILPH and so at a place like Ritual…

Oh well, whatever people like that may do in their free time is no problem of hers.

”Oh, darts! That looks really fun! Dunno if I’d be very good at it, though…” An index finger meets glossy lips as if she were deep in thought, calling out her Spritzee since they’re apparently supposed to have pokémon by their side for this event. Ceri turns to look Atlas then, gently squeezing his hand. ”At! Will you be my lucky charm if I give it a try?”

Ceri has never cared much for fieldwork. It doesn’t suit her at all; she’s not particularly athletic, nor is she a particularly good trainer, and most of the time she most certainly would rather not expose herself to sudden danger. Her adventures of choice are usually in the lab, thank you very much.

Too bad that there are particularly nasty assignments like this one. Which, if she were religious at all, would have her praying not to get bit by a rabid dog.

”Uhmm…” To make matters worse, he leaves her to decide what they should do, and Ceri can’t help but wonder if he really doesn’t know or if this is the sort of silly test higher ups sometimes like to pull. ”We could send a pokémon to have a look from above, but they’re probably hiding out in a barn or so. Cornering them could work, but that’s as long as we know where they are, and I guess the rest depends on if you want to lure them out of the farm or get rid of them.”
